The Beach Club

The Hotel is located on the seafront in Penzance. Amenities located close, Shop/Supermarket, Petrol Station, Arcade, Chip Shop and old style Lido. Receptionist was fantastic at meet and greet and she made me feel very welcome at the hotel for a first visit. I stayed in Room 4, for a single room it is very light and airy. Nice decoration (looks recently decorated) and all the necessary you would need for a stay. Tea Tray was ok with biscuits, a choice of Tea/Coffee and a hot chocolate. Tea Pot and water glass and kettle. Nice size TV with Freeview channels. Bed is standard single size. Built-in wardrobe space was good and includes a hidden hair dryer. Guest Guide for the hotel and a phone for reception. Bathroom was a good size and is shower only. Hot and Cold taps are wrong way round (not sure if that is just this hotel or if that is a southern thing???) Fresh towels very fluffy and good size. Some little extras like the shower cap just make the hotel look great and make the guest feel more welcome. A laundry service is also available. The room looks onto the back of the hotel so not a lot to see but there is an outside fire escape and can sometimes get noisy from outside. The noise on the corridor is a little loud sometimes but that can be said for a lot of places. Breakfast was fantastic, continental was a great choice of cereals, croissants, fruit and yoghurt. Tea and Coffee on arrival to the dining room, a choice of jam and preservatives at the table. Toast order is taken white/brown/gluten free or a mixture. Full fried breakfast order is taken from a massive choice on the menu. First day I had a fried breakfast and second day I had Eggs benedict. Both breakfasts cooked to perfection and I ate every bit of them. Service from staff was fantastic and all needs catered for. I would definitely recommend the stay. I will be returning again to the Beachfield Hotel.

What a lovely hotel - right in the heart of town with views of the water and an easy walk to shops and restaurants. We arrived after a long travel day - an overnight flight from the US and 5+ hours on the train from London. When we made the reservation, they only had a room with 1 bed, and when we arrived, we asked if there might be a room available with 2 beds (2 sisters traveling together). The kind fellow at the front desk gave us a spacious room with 3 beds (Room 1, I think)! It was on the front of the building facing the water with a cozy seating area in the bay window. The décor was current, warm and welcoming. The room and bathroom were immaculate. The beds were quiet comfortable. And breakfast the next morning was hearty and delicious. A great place to stay in this charming sea town.

Just arrived and secured a single room less than 50 quid, that's OK. The room was strange had a few stairs, but fine. The young fella that appeared to be about the only employee informed me the hotel was almost full, ergo, no upgrade. Did not see very many other guests. The young fella was the reception person / bartender / waiter, in fact, apart from the cook, that's it for staff. I did have a few beers, only one on tap????? strange for a large British hotel. Supper, one had a two hour window to get in. This I did and ordered lamb shanks, now being from Canada, I had seen this on many menu's, thus I tried it. I see now this stringy morsel is part of the lower leg. Pass next time, could not pick a desert I wanted, so I opted for the cheese / cracker board, had a nice blue and an aged cheddar.... very nice. Good British breakfast, hot and fresh, exellent coffee. Very happy. Parking............... very limited. Breakfast was good, the usual.

We were beginning LEJOG and this was our first stop, on the 17 August. They were very welcoming and helpful, no request was too much trouble. We had a large family and friends party and took over part of the entrance bar area for a time. We had a private breakfast room and it gave us an excellent start for a long cycle ride across Cornwall. They also helped us store the 5 bicycles which was useful. Very flexible and helpful place. We even got our large van parked outside . .

Needed an overnight stop In Penzance, not too far from the town, and picked The Beachfield due ti its proximity and appearance. The building is about a mile from the railway station, approx. mid way between Penzance and Newlyn, and is a grand building, dating from the 1880's. Was given a warm and friendly greeting, the single room I booked being on the 1st floor, and was comfortable and well stocked with all the facilities you would expect and require. The accommodation no longer provide evening meals, hence they are not classed as a hotel any longer, but there are ample places to eat a variety of meals very close by, so this is not a real issue. In all other aspects, this is a traditional hotel. with a cosy residents bar, ample areas to read or relax, and a magnificent breakfast served in a lovely dining area, with views across the seafront. Some rooms have views overlooking the promenade although as I was only staying for one night, this was not important for me. The bedroom was very comfy, quiet, and I had a very good night's sleep. This was a lovely overnight break, and the Beachfield comes highly recommended on my brief experience.

This is the first time I have stayed in Penzance for many years and what a superb choice I made staying at the Beachfield Hotel. The location was ideal, located just a 15 minute level walk from the railway station along the promenade and 10 minutes walk from the town centre. I cannot fault my stay at the Beachfield Hotel, from the day I walked in and until I left the 3 days later the service I received from the staff was excelllent - felt very welcome and as for breakfast I have never been presented with my breakfast looking so nice! My room had a superb view down the Promenade from one side and out to see from the front, the room was well maintained and decor very tasteful as it was throughout the hotel. If like me you have no transport, this was no problem, the 300 open top bus stops next to the hotel and does a circular journey via Lands End, St Just, Zennor and St Ives which enabled me to walk parts of the coast path, a 5 minute walk towards Newlyn you can pick up a bus to Mousehole - or adjacent to the railway station is the bus station. I am looking forward to staying in the Beachfield hotel in the near future.
