Hotel der Wiesenhof

Everything at this hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean with a beautiful view, and we could walk to the cable car, lake or go for a winterwanderweg straight from the hotel. My husband even borrowed a sledge to toboggan down the mountain! We really enjoyed using the 25m pool, swimming and relaxing whilst enjoying the alpine scenery. We weren't expecting the wide variety of delicious and beautifully presented food. Despite the size of the hotel it really did retain a family feel and we were able to relax and have a wonderful time.

I can find so much to praise about the Hotel Wiesenhof. Impeccably run, with friendly and helpful staff, beautifully clean with an amazing pool and spa area. Breakfast was an absolute hi lite. As soon as dinner was over I was looking forward to breakfast! So fresh, varied and beautifully laid out, with a few surprises throughout the week. Dinner was very good too. Nothing was too much trouble particularly for the ladies who ran reception. Particular thanks to Jasmine who helped me book hikes and trips and recommended walks, eateries and activities. I felt like more than just a guest and would love to return one day. It might be nice if the bar could have some cozy seating areas but I can’t think of anything else I would change.

My husband and I spent Christmas week here. The hotel and staff were wonderful as was the village. Our seven course meal on Christmas Eve was one of the best I've ever eaten. As were all of the meals and so much to chose from. The cheeses were better than we had at our Swiss hotel on our journey to Pertisau! The events organised from the 23rd to 25th were great fun, Singing Shepherds, candle lighting and lunch time gathering on Christmas Day. The swimming pool was fabulous. And we always waited to see how our duvets were arranged each day, a variation on animal towels. Amenities in the village were excellent (ski lift, x country ski-ing, hotel toboggans, a small museum, cafes, boat trip) and included a bus pass to visit villages in the area. We felt like part of the family throughout our stay. We had a wonderful time and hope to visit again in summer.

Perfect stay from start to finish. Very friendly helpful staff full of information who couldn't do enough for you. Rooms were spotlessly clean, a good size and fantastic views. The food was awesome accompanied by a great choice of wines. The spa and pool was never too busy and a great place to relax after a days walking. We stayed for nine days and found enough snowy walks, cable car rides and boat trips to keep us going. The new years eve gala meal and entertainment was spot on followed by the most awesome firework display by all the hotels in the valley. We don't usually do reviews but felt the Hotel Wiesenhof definitely deserved one. Hope to see you guys again soon, maybe in the summer next time. Thanks for a great stay.

This was our sixth visit and the hotel is as perfect as ever. The staff as really friendly and helpful without being obsequious. The food has always been good but on this visit it was the best we have ever had, particularly the meat dishes - great cookery, flavours and textures. The rooms are clean with very comfortable beds and everything you need for storing walking kit. There are so many walks to do from the hotel, that over ten days we never did the same walk twice and we could vary what we did with the weather and our mood. The swimming pool is excellent - one of those rare hotel pools where you can really swim lengths of more than two strokes. This is perfection.

We ended our stay in this hotel about two weeks ago and are already planning when we can return. The hotel is family owned and run and all the staff we met were capable confident and friendly, seeming to genuinely care that guests should be content and feel welcome. The rooms are classic alpine with lovely quality wooden furniture and are kept beautifully clean. If you book on the hotels own website as we did you can choose the size and style of room. We opted for a larger room and had a very comfortable seating area plus a large balcony. The hotel is well situated just back from the lake in its own meadows with views of the lake to the front and the mountains to the back. The food is exceptional. I have had half board many times but never at this level. It was like eating in a high quality restaurant every night. There is a reasonably equipped gym and lots of other facilities. The high point for me was the unbelievable swimming pool in a glorious pavilion building. 25 m long, well heated, doors all round open to the garden in fine weather. Perfect for both serious swimmers and those just wanting to relax. A truly great hotel at a reasonable cost with many guests obviously returning frequently.
