Sunrise Village Beach Hotel

Pros : Absolutely fabulous sea view, private beach for the club with little rocks, bring shoes to swim. Clear water. Huge swimming pool, nice for kids. To improve : Bad smell sometimes outside (évacuation of dirty waters), buffet at the restaurant with loud music (go to eat on the terrace to avoid it), surroundings with not much to do, so rent a car if you can.

Just returned from holiday at Sunshine Village supurb location and stunning views. Accomodation, food, staff, cleanliness and overall appearance of the hotel was very comfortable and inviting.Would definitely recommend this hotel for couples and families.

We visited this hotel with our family at the beginning of June. Since my husband and I were paying for the vacation for four other family members, we had to consider the price when choosing the hotel, so we didn’t have very high expectations. However, this went beyond anything we could have imagined — in the worst possible way. We were given four bungalows. As soon as we entered, we noticed that the room wasn’t cleaned at all. There was dirt on the floor, the bedding was dirty, and the whole room smelled bad. There was mold on the curtains, and the rooms were full of spiders and other insects. There was toothpaste in the sink, and the shower was completely filthy. I understand that the cleaning staff probably have a lot on their plate, as there are many rooms to clean. But if you want to offer services of this type, you need to have enough staff to do the job properly. The food was almost the same every day. The cold buffet didn’t change the entire week, and the hot food was the same for both lunch and dinner. Toward the end, there wasn’t even anything left to choose from. There’s a small shop near the reception where you can buy water and chips at best. If we hadn’t had a car, we wouldn’t have had anything to eat, because there’s absolutely nothing around the hotel. Right after arrival, we went to reception and asked to pay for better rooms. They became available on the third day. At least there was no mold there, and the rooms didn’t smell. The pool had a pleasant temperature but was dirty. All the sunbeds were already taken by 9 a.m. The sea is beautiful, but that’s not thanks to the hotel. I recommend water shoes — the rocks can be uncomfortable. The sunbeds on the beach were in terrible condition. There was supposed to be a beach bar, but of course, there wasn’t one. The only bar is near the pool. As part of the all-inclusive, you’re allowed one alcoholic and one non-alcoholic drink. This is not the fault of the staff, but of whoever manages this hotel. It could have a lot of potential if someone cared enough to offer their guests a quality experience. I honestly don’t understand how anyone would want to come back here. This was a nightmare.

Well where do I start overall it was on the good side.brits in the minority not a bad thing as the french and the poles act just the same . Food was oookaayy they try to offer a variety. breakfast was good a selection of fruit cereals bread and hot food pastries what passed as bacon was strange but it was edible. lunch times good selection again along with dinner menu a bit repetitive but all edible. pool area good everyone reserving their sunbeds.pool bar ok but cheap drinks no proper coke night time bar not enough staff for the clamouring hoards again cheap alcohol no proper mixers. staff amiable enough, rooms are good with good air-conditioning but we stayed in one of the bungalow's cleaned every day all in all we had a good week all the men wearing shorts in the restaurant nothing said.evening entertainment bit poor DJ one night Greek music another night would I go back yes but only for the week this place has a few cats bit smelly in places. pool umbrellas hit and miss with quite a few needing attention sun beds ok. The beach area accessed by a path strong legs and ankles needed beach ok but needs better facilities needed on beach wear beach shoes but it is good for the price paid

There are a lot of good things this hotel offers so don't be put off by bad reviews. 4* Greece is not comparable to 4* in the UK so if you are aware of that you will love this hotel. Maria on reception was a real asset to the hotel. She was friendly and knowledgeable and always willing to make sure everything was good for you. We asked to change our room on arrival and it was no problem doing so. The setting and views are wonderful, although the area is very isolated. We had a room with an amazing seaview in the main building with a huge balcony. The beds were comfortable, it's was immaculately clean and the walk in shower a real surprise in the bathroom. There were a few maintenance problems like tapped up wires, no shelves, hooks or towel rails in the bathroom and a lack of storage units but we managed. The beach was stoney but we had beach shoes so no problem. The sea was clear and although it drops down quickly into the water there were no large rocks. The beach was tranquil but more sun umbrellas .and beds were needed for the number of people wanting to use them. The pool was huge and clean but yet again there was a distinct lack of sunbeds, not helped by people out before breakfast reserving them!!! The dining room setting was looking over the bay and you collected your own placemats, cutlery and helped yourself to drinks - not a problem. The food quality was not as good as I expected and it was very repetitive, although we always found something to eat. We took the bus to Koroni and spent the day there. We were rewarded with watching a large turtle swimming in the harbour. We ate lunch over looking the harbour and spent a couple of hours on the beach and swam in the sea. The bus times are not accurate so be prepared for it to arrive when it does! The reason I didn't give Sunrise Village a 5* was because of the lack of sunbeds and the food but saying that I would probably return as we had a good week there.
