Habitation Saint Charles - Hôtel de Charme & Spa

Really beautiful hotel with a nice pool area. We booked a double room, it was simple and clean. The bathroom is beautiful. There are a lot of free parking spots and I would recommend a car, to explore the stunning gems in the area. The hotel has a small breakfast buffet which was delicious. The location is perfect to explore the island. I would recommend booking a room with a private pool.

We enjoyed 10 amazing days at this place. Having booked a bungalow, we had a small kitchen, our own personal terasse and small pool as well, which was perfect after a day of sightseeing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We can only recommend this place! Tip: you need to rent a car, in order to get around on the island - but the location of the hotel is ideal to reach all parts, being centrally located.

Our group had a wonderful time and experience in Guadeloupe and had a wonderful time staying at Habitation Saint Charles. We stayed for a week between 2 rooms, and 6-7 adults. We are seasoned travelers with no expectations of being catered to as Americans. We had dinner 5 nights at the hotel, and 2 at a local Pizza place called Ton Ton. Thursday-Saturday nights have what we called a "fancier" menu. As a group we tried mostly all items on the menu, and they were all fabulous. Cooked perfectly as requested, the sides were wonderful, and the waiters were excellent. Christophe and JonahEl took care of us at different times, and we felt very comfortable dining. Sunday-Wednesday has a more semi-formal menu, with a Burger that I thought was very good. The rooms themselves were excellent. Beds were made each day, with an obvious tidying of the place. The air conditioners in each bedroom worked very well. The Hot Water is on solar power so it is a bit intermittent. Being the last of 4 to shower one night was brutal, but didn't impact the stay. The pool was lovely, and the local cat on the property was very friendly and petable! The variety of breakfast each morning was exquisite. Parking was Ample. The location in our opinion was perfect. It's a 30 minute drive to Boullainte where we spent a lot of time. It's about the same to Baie-Mahault where we took a boat tour, Le Gosier night market where we spent an evening, and about 50 minutes to Trois-Riveries where we departed and returned to on a day trip to Les Saintes. Bertrand the owner offered suggestions and was very helpful. The front desk agent Mida was exceptional as well. As Americans that spoke very very little French (we tried), we found it easy to communicate on the island. Not many spoke good english, not many understood our english, but we were able to accomplish all things. Spending a couple months on DuoLingo helped tremendously.

The hotel was very clean, bed comfortable. It was sort of centrally located to run around the island. The property is much smaller than you would think from the pictures. It is in the middle of a residential area. You really don't have anywhere to walk around. We were only there 2 days, we had a rental car and were gone most of the time. The island is easy to drive, and you would want a rental car if staying here. So for just sleeping and showering worked for us.

Voilà une expérience dont on ne souhaite pas voir la fin. Le lieu est splendide, baigné d’un calme apaisant. Le personnel est attentionné, à l’écoute et toujours disponible. La cuisine est tout simplement exceptionnelle, elle nous transporte. Le spa vient parfaire le tout : ils ont pris soin de nous avec une grande délicatesse. On aimerait que ce moment dure éternellement. Nous passons un séjour merveilleux et reviendrons sans hésiter.

J'ai activé mon compte juste pour éviter aux gens la même déconvenue que moi. Une véritable déception. Le cadre est magnifique, la carte alléchante, cependant l'ensemble n'est pas à la hauteur des attentes d'un restaurant d'un hôtel 4 étoiles. Pour l'entrée, nous avons fait le choix des tapas: les rillettes ont été remplacées par des crevettes à l'avocat (pas de saison, donc insipide) sans nous en informer au préalable, la giraumonade était salée et aqueuse, un seul cromesqui de banane ridiculement petit et des accras avec plus de pâte que de morue. Le ton était donné. Le plat était visuellement décevant, rien pour mettre en appétit. Je n'ai même pas eu à coeur de faire des photos du magret tellement c'était laid. Le goût était à la hauteur du visuel: fade, sans saveur. Une purée pleine d'ail et peu ragoutante. Je ne pensais même pas qu'il était possible de rater une purée Le magret comme l'entrecôte n'avaient aucune saveur, pas de sel à l'inverse de l'addition: salée. La poelée de légumes (la même que celle servie dans les tapas) étaient immangeables des légumes encore croquants et trempés dans une sauce à la texture douteuse. Nous avons fui sans chercher à prendre de dessert et avec beaucoup d'amertume, surtout qu'il s'agissait d'une surprise pour un anniversaire. Je ne recommande absolument pas.
