Lakeside Lodge

We visited for my brother-in-law’s 40th birthday with a group of 6 adults, 2 children, and a baby. Overall, we had a fantastic experience. The service was excellent—Sarah, the manager, and our server Cally were both incredibly attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was absolutely delicious, and we really appreciated that they kindly stored a homemade cheesecake we brought for the celebration. They even provided cutlery so we could enjoy our dessert, which was a thoughtful touch. The men in our group had a great time playing a round of pitch and putt golf and enjoyed a fun game of bowling afterwards, which really added to the overall experience and made it a memorable day for everyone. The only downside was the high chair provided for our baby. Unfortunately, it wasn’t suitable, as it didn’t reach the table, so the baby had to sit on my knee throughout the meal. This meant my partner and I couldn’t eat at the same time, which did affect the experience a little. It would be a big improvement if the high chairs were updated to include trays so they’re more practical for younger children. Aside from that, everything else was lovely and we had a really enjoyable time. We’d definitely return!

We hired the green room for my 70th birthday celebration the whole experience was 10 out 10 for the whole night. The bar staff were excellent and the buffet was amazing possibly the best buffet I have ever seen or had. It was for 38 people but so much was over we only really needed half the quantity as so much was left over even after we had taken a lot home with us. We stayed in a lodge which was so big and plenty of space. Would highly recommend this place.

The room was boiling to the point I wanted to sleep in my van, the windows are old and someone could easily open the window fully and climb on through. There was yellow scale all over the shower and clearly don’t replace the shower heads, reception and pretty much any activity shut at 8.30 (I was told that the closed the bowling alley because nobody showed up) so could not make a complaint. In a nutshell avoid at all costs it’s a golf club with a bunch of student rooms which are priced way to high. I’m not even going to bother with breakfast that’s how bad it is, I’m turning away a free breakfast. Finally if you have issues dealing with cold or winter seasons just stay here! I will be making a formal complaint.

Third and probably last visit. Previous reviews I have written have been good. Sadly, not this one. On arrival, I left my car at the Lodge I was staying in and politely told reception. I was told to move in a fairly unfriendly manner. Stayed in a ground floor room, and all you hear at night is creaking floor boards as people move around in the rooms above. The shower looks good and good when you have hot water. The shower itself has no shelf for soap or soap bottles. Hot water was a big issue. Stayed for 2 nights and only had hot water on the first night. We told reception of the problem, it was a Saturday morning. They extended our room passes so we could shower after golf. This was a waste of time as there was still no hot water, and reception don't work on a Saturday afternoon to discuss this issue. As for WIFI or a simple phone signal, the lodges don't have either.

We'd been to the Lakeside Lodge for lunch a few times before and were happy to return as they are good value and have a wider vegetarian menu than most. It was our Mum's 88th birthday and the staff kindly took the cake we'd brought with us and presented it at just the right moment. Overall the service and food were fabulous and the staff went above and beyond - Huge thanks to Stan, Emma and Sarah - gold stars all 'round! See you next time.

Went for a family meal to Lakeside Lodge last night. Unfortunately for us there were several large groups of very loud men which made the place very noisy and difficult to hear what people with us were saying. However the food and service were good and I am sure on a different night the atmosphere would have been very pleasant too.
