Grecotel LUXME White

We stayed for 10 nights at Grecotel Lux Me White Palace. You are welcomed in the open air reception by a cool face towel and welcome drink, checked in and provided with information about the hotel. We booked a swim up Lux Me room. Our first room wasn’t directly on the pool so we asked for a different room. We stayed 1 night in room 1 and were then moved to a room in another block for the remainder of our stay. Rooms are nice enough but dated and not the most modern or luxurious rooms we have stayed in. There is room for improvement. We were joined by family members who had booked sea view junior suites. These rooms were nicer with a more modern walk in shower and lots more storage space and seating areas, along with the lovely sea views. Staff were very pleasant and polite. The grounds and pools are stunning and well maintained. There are a good selection of restaurants with a high standard of food and drinks. We couldn’t manage to pre book before arrival but did manage to book on arrival but usually late sittings. The buffet was very good with a great selection of salads, breads, various cooking stations. Food is not labelled for allergens so you do need to find a member of staff to find out about ingredients. There is lovely wine tasting section within the buffet. We visited the farm which was a really good experience and lots of food to try. Visit is free, you just have to pay and pre book for the coach. The beach is narrow with sand and stones. It is very relaxing sitting listening to the waves while in the restaurants or at the bar.

Lovely hotel- WOW factor and it felt so peaceful. They had some live entertainment which was a DJ one night and a little Loud but people were dancing and enjoying. Rooms are a good size and the swim up infinity pool is stunning from what I saw. Also do amazing ice cream and crepes! Lovely food and would return again!

We spent a week at the Grecotel white palace and really enjoyed it, having stayed at Ikos hotels for the past 8 years, it's hard not to compare, it's not on Ikos level but definitely could be. We arrived around 11.30pm with a lovely greeting of cold towels and a welcome drink and shown to our room. We did partake in a late night snack in the sunset lounge, but no beverages were on offer as the bar closed at 12am, which was slightly disappointing. Positives of the hotel are the location/setting, cleanliness of hotel and room, food & drink options and the staff, they were so friendly, attentative and made a fuss of our children. I won't list negatives, but a few things we feel they could improve upon would be: Buffet and a la cartes were all good, I think a bit more variety for breakfast would be advantageous, more cereal options, smoothies, different flavour yoghurts for kids, waffles etc Agreco Farm was great, but there is a fee of €8 pp for coach return, which we weren't told about when booking. Crepe and ice cream bar were a favourite with our children. Minibar lacked variety, beer, soft drinks, water and that was it. Milk in room for coffee and tea. A singer/pianist or some form of entertainment in the sunset bar maybe twice a week. Make people aware of the wine library, we only found out on our 2nd to last day. Waterpark at sister hotel was great but the splash zone was far too cold for little ones. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel and would visit more of the Grecotel hotels, it's definitely value for money, when you think Ikos Aria was £3k more for the same week.

Fantastic hotel , beautiful setting . On arrival we was upgraded to a swim up room , my daughter was so happy, reception, cleaners , waiters, work so hard , Bar staff absolutely fantastic, they remember your drinks made my daughter feel so special, restaurants very good Asian restaurant Brilliant. Carte d’or ice cream ( so many choices) patisserie place bit of a let down . The only down side was the evening entertainment as it was close to end of season not much on . Rooms clean mini bar great nice coffee machine, all stocked everyday . Even saw a very special person I’ve not seen for 30+ years .

I have a mixed review because there are pros and cons about this hotel. The pros: Lovely looking hotel with good facilities. All the restaurants offer good food. Staff are accommodating and friendly on the whole. Great drinks at the bar. Fabulous mixologists. Cons: Entry level rooms leave a lot to be desired The bathroom is small and the shower is in the bath but way too narrow for a full grown adult to have a comfortable shower. The water spills over the edge of the bath drenching the floor causing slip hazards, the bath mat is not enough so we resorted to using the towels to mop up the water. There is no extraction fan so the steam lingers in the bathroom making it hard to use the mirrors. We had to open the bathroom window which opened up onto a dry wall, the bathroom door and the balcony door. Despite these efforts the steam settled on our clothes and bed linen. There is a constant smell of sewage coming from the bathroom floor grill. The beach is very narrow and poorly maintained. Limited adult only public areas. If you are sensitive to smoke or have a lung condition, as I do, you will invariably encounter smokers in the pool area. There are no designated no smoking areas. Mosquitoes are a problem, I was bitten 18 times. Although there is mozy repellent in the room. They should really fumigate once in a while to keep the pests at bay. We have traveled extensively around the world, staying in 5* resorts so this review is coming from an informed viewpoint. With some tweaking the hotel could be a great place to stay.

5 weeks ago I holidayed in Crete in a different hotel and it’s only what I can describe as a turd rolled in glitter! I also always booked in the same hotel for this trip but after such a bad hotel we changed for my mums 60th birthday to Grecotel White Palace. Let’s start firstly with the welcome from the hotel: As we arrived our bags were whisked away from the taxi driver and we were taken to some comfortable sofas. Straight away we were presented with a fresh cold towel and a welcome drink. This always shows straight off how a hotel is setting the scene. There they took our passports and checked us in all whilst we were sat comfortable and I didn’t once have to stand in a reception watching a clock seeing how long it took them to check me in. Then we recorded our key via the reservations manager and he gave us a tour and hints and tips about what was where etc. This was a lovely touch and we felt that we were ready straight off and knew where what was: Secondly let’s talk about staff… The staff here are truly wonderful and super friendly. I’ve never been to a hotel with such great staff. Nothing was ever to much trouble and they all seemed throughly happy to see you. I can’t name all but a huge thank to the two ladies in the Creperie and Nikolai at the pool. Now onto Hotel Cleanliness: The hotel is immaculate. It’s like some secret fairies appear clean and disappear. I understand it’s a white palace but it genuinely was super clean and white. Next up the Room: The room was large and felt great and airy again super clean and always fresh towels. The water was topped up and whilst we didn’t use the mini-bar it was all included. The bathroom was also a good size and plenty of storage too. I didn’t mind that the shower was separate and in the bedroom but my mum found it weird. TIP: if your not happy to shower in front of each other sit in the sitting room whilst the other showers Pool: We lay by a beautiful and tranquil pool just above the creperie. One downside - due to this my stomach and dress size has grown the smell oh my! It was delightful haha. The loungers are extremely comfortable but there was sunbed wars and if you weren’t down by 7:45am you aren’t getting a lounger by this pool. It was so peaceful and extremely calm. There is a secondary pool which was a little more hectic but you mainly found the kids and families playing here and whilst the pools where very close you actually couldn’t hear a thing. There was a corridor separating both but it was like a different world when you stepped through. It was like there was an adult pool and family pool and everyone understood this without actually anyone saying or even having an adults pool. The staff were great with keeping you hydrated. Beach: We can’t comment much as we stayed pretty much around the pool area. There’s an adult side and a family side. It looked clean and we saw staff cleaning the beach and removing the seaweed. The sea was fairly calm whilst we were there
