Qiao's Courtyard is located outside the North Gate of Pingyao Ancient City. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the foot of the ancient city wall. The courtyard has a pleasant environment, being clean and tidy. There is a private parking lot, ensuring convenient and safe parking. It is an officially authorized ticket - selling point for both "Impression Pingyao" and "Impression of the Draft Bank". We can purchase tickets for Shuanglin Temple on your behalf. We can arrange chartered cars or carpooling from Pingyao Ancient City to various scenic spots in Shanxi Province. We can also place orders and purchase various specialties such as Pingyao beef, wine, and vinegar for you.

The hotel accepts foreigners. The location is good, relatively close to the ancient town, and about 2 KM from Pingyao station. It's also convenient if you're going to Zhenguo temple, as the bus going there stops nearby. The place itself is a bit in the middle of nowhere (a bit difficult to find, but look for the signs), but there are a few shops and eateries nearby. The room was clean, and sufficiently large. However, do note that you don't get anything except for the room (i.e. no towel, no toiletries etc.). Also the homestay is literally opposite from the railway tracks, so you're going to hear trains all the time. It's tolerable if you close the window, but do note that there's no air-conditioning, so it's going to be a problem in Summer. That said, it's extremely cheap, so even with all the issues, it's still great value for money.

The host were nice and friendly. They speak no English but they use and app for basic translations. The room is good value for money. Modern and clean, with good architectural finishes. They don't provide towels, shampoo and so. No air conditioner either, thou I asked for a fan and they gave it to me and it was perfect like that. Location wasn't so easy to find, the access road can be either dusty or muddy depending on the weather.
It's about 15 minutes walk to the north gate of ancient Pingyao city wall. I would recommend specially to couples as it's the same price as for solo travellers. (I guess the price is per room) They didn't ask for a deposit as written in their policies, which is a plus. I attach a plan explaining how to best get there. Recommended.

Lovely guesthouse just outside Pingyao ancient city, a very short walk! Not super easy to find but the family came out on the street to greet me. Clean newly renovated place.

Very friendly owners. Location is in nice neighborhood just outside of north side of Pingyao ancient city. It is pleasant to walk away from the ancient city to explore the local neighborhood and shops.

Excelente anfitrión. Muy amigable y dispuesto a ayudarte en lo que sea necesario. La habitación es amplia y la cama también. No hay ruidos y es oscura a la noche. El baño (aunque está fuera de ella) es completo. Es un poco complejo encontrar la ubicación del lugar pero con los mapas satelitales es posible.
