Hotel Dayin in Pingyao is a charming mix of old and new. It’s set in a beautifully restored Qing-dynasty courtyard, but the rooms have all the modern perks—smart toilets, comfy beds, Dyson hairdryers. The place is spotless, and the staff go out of their way to help, from carrying bags to arranging rides. It’s a little off the main drag, but still close to sights, and the peaceful vibe makes it worth it.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of Historic Pingyao Allen’s place is a perfect mix of old-world charm and modern comfort. The historic building has been beautifully restored, equipped with the latest smart home features. From fresh, made-to-order typical breakfasts to helpful tips, bikes for a city ride and a more than “tailor made” shuttle service, Allen goes above and beyond without ever being intrusive. His warm hospitality turned our stay into a truly memorable experience—and made us feel like friends rather than guests. Thank you for helping us discover Pingyao in such a special way!

All fine, the staff was very helpful, and the room was quite small but nice and comfortable. I recommend staying there :)  The location is little bit outside of the ancient city which is a plus because it’s not so loud there (around 8 minutes by foot). We could also rent a bikes to get there for dinner for free.  The coffee after arrival may be requested but with no milk (15 yen per each).

Great hotel for a short stay in Ping Yao. Friendly employees that are willing to help and some speak english. Breakfast is simple but enough. The bathroom could have used better cleaning.

Beautiful, quiet historic hotel. Modern and clean amenities. Super accommodating staff who even booked a personal driver for free.

Lovely hotel in the old city. Really welcoming and kind boss who was quick to help recommend us the best areas to visit in the city, and where to eat. They also kindly gave us a late check-out. Location could have been more central, but we enjoyed the 10 minute walk into the main town + they have bikes you can use for free, or cheap shuttle buss for 10rmb per ride, so overall location was good. 10 out of 10!

Great location, quiet neighborhood but not far from the center. The room is clean , comfortable and has the atmosphere of an old traditional home. It is the service that needs significant improvement to warrant the current four star rating.  The price was for two people and yet, there was one tea bag per person, a very small roll of toilet paper and the facial tissue bixes were almost empty. The breakfast was no better: ine boiled egg, a small bun, a bowl of sweet porridge and a tiny slice (about one tenth) of a sweet potato and a root vegetable, with a tiny portion of pickled cabbage. For a mainland B&B well below standard. What’s more, the old nan who was on duty in the morning would pick up dirt from the floor while handling food with bare hands and had trouble finding toilet paper in the storage room while I waited outside in freezing weather. The host is friendly and helped with orientation and organizing transfers to the railway station, so with little improvement in service this could be a good choice for Pingyao.

A perfect home in the ancient city, what a great experiance!! The host is super helpful, the room very clean, the breakfast was yummy 😋😋 I only regret that I haven't been there in summer to enjoy their beautiful courtyard for a coffee, take s look on the photo 😍

Great stay. Nice friendly service. Close enough to main sites, far enough so it's nice and quiet.

Very good hotel, cozy rooms (very quiet at night), well equiped! Nice breakfast (chinese fixed menu). Very welcoming receptionist, he provided us a map of the city and the program to visit all the attractions. Pick up service at the entrance of the old city.

Very beautiful property, the room was very clean and very comfortable. The staff is very nice too. It is not located right in the centre of the old town (about 10-15mn walk) but the good thing is that it is a very quiet area.

A cute bed and breakfast in a romantic ancient town. Free bicycles are available. A nice selection of beers. A wholesome Chinese breakfast included. Highly recommended..
