The entire hotel, particularly, the courtyard was beautiful and my room was lovely. The hotel provided a ride from the train station and also gave me a lift with my luggage from the hotel to the main gate where I could get a taxi for the way back to the train station. The morning breakfast was a traditional Chinese breakfast, very filling although perhaps strange for some western visitors.

The room was nice, clean and had all the basics. It also had a purified water faucet. The staff was very helpful. For example they allowed me to store some food in the kitchen fridge and warmed it up for me the next day. The Inn offered me a free transfert from the train station and I was welcomed. The breakfast was Chinese and plentiful. The facilities could be improved, as the kitchen and breakfast place are tiny within a store. The rooms are behind in an old house, which could benefit from some tidying up and refreshing . Overall, I was happy to stay there and would recommend it to people travelling on a small budget. There was no noise at night. The inn was located well.

My stay at this hotel had some definite highlights. The service was truly excellent – being picked up from the train station and taken directly to the hotel was a fantastic and much-appreciated touch. The reception staff was also very helpful and friendly throughout my stay. The hotel's location was also a big plus, making it easy to get around. However, the cleanliness of the room could have been better. While generally acceptable, the shower, in particular, needed more attention. Overall, the excellent service and great location were strong points, but improvements in room cleanliness, especially the bathroom, would significantly enhance the guest experience

Lovely one night stay in The Red Lantern. Free pickup from high speed train was a lovely surprise and we had help from the city walls to the hotel with our luggage which was great, thank you!

The hotel is nice, familiar and clean. The host is very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay and felt comfortable 😊

We had a really good time here. We were picked up at the train station and were brought to the hotel. All of this went very smooth. The room we booked was supposed to be smoke free, but it seems someone had smoked in our room and the smell was too much. They were able to supply us with a different room that did not smell. The room was great, it was nice and warm (it was close to freezing at night) and as clean as you can expect. We had breakfast 1 time, the breakfast is 2 types of noodles, some veggies, buns and eggs.

Location nice in old town. Super friendly, they arranged a pickup for us from the station. In the evening nicely illuminated with latern and a small terrace to sit. The (served) breakfast was very tasty.

Good place near the North gate. Friendy staff. Good breakfast and peaceful room. Hot water (shower) was a bit weak. Amazing city.

They were very kind, took me from the train station and even offered me a bottle of vinegar. The breakfast was authentic and the room confortable.

This was by far the nicest hotel on my trip! The staff is very friendly and accommodating, I can highly recommend it. The hotel is very clean and looks awesome, just like in the pictures.

My stay at the Red Lantern Inn in Pingyao was absolutely unforgettable! From the moment I arrived, the owner was incredibly friendly and provided full-service hospitality. I was even greeted with a thoughtful gift of vinegar upon check-in. The hotel is unique and charming, not your typical modern hotel. The reception is located in a shop at the front, but the hotel's name is clearly displayed, making it easy to find. The directions on Trip.com were accurate, and although it’s a bit of a walk from the North Gate, it’s worth it. The atmosphere of the inn is enchanting, transporting you to old-world China. The rooms are simply designed yet very comfortable. The hotel also offers traditional costume rentals for photos, which was a fun experience. What truly stood out was the exceptional service. The owner helped us arrange a bus for sightseeing and even provided a free ride to the Pingyaogucheng Railway Station, despite it being quite far. The car was spacious and comfortable. To top it all off, I experienced my first snowfall here, making my stay even more magical. I highly recommend the Red Lantern Inn to anyone visiting Pingyao. It’s a place that offers not just a stay, but an unforgettable cultural experience!

Nice hotel with beautiful courtyard. Room is cozy and clean

We are impressive for service and welcome drink. The location is good where located in the heart of ancient city. The room is clean, comfortable but the bed is a little hard. If i have chance to come back, I will choose this hotel. Recommend to you!!!
