"Grand Opera Hall guest house" is the Jin Merchants' Club 300 years ago. The name of Grand Opera Hall was inscribed by Mr. Qigong, a great master of Chinese culture . It has become a unique and precious work of Mr. Qigong. The Grand Opera Hall guest house is located at the Nine Dragons of Pingyao ancient city, with Confucian temple and God of wealth temple in the west, Kuixing tower in the South and ancient city wall in the East. It was built in 1703, the 42nd year of Kangxi. In order to welcome the emperor to visit the west, four big buildings and music hall were built. In the 26th year of Guangxu, Empress Dowager Cixi and Emperor Guangxu traveled to the west to enjoy the opera and stayed in the Grand Opera Hall.Visa fler

Great authentic experience at this hotel in Pingyao. This was a perfect choice and I would definitely come back to same location.
You feel as part of ancient time: room decorations and also inner courtyard is wonderful.
Breakfast is mainly Chinese style but you can find good options even as a foreigner.
They also provide you with a nice business shuttle from the station which is more than welcome.

A fantastic stay which truly puts you in the mood of Pingyao Ancient City. I received a very welcome room upgrade and had a splendid time. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, offering a pickup/drop-off service to/from Pingyao station.

They have picked US up at the High Speed train station and then they have driven US back there After our stay.Perfect.The Place Is lovely worth to stay.

Reception speaks english. Traditional bed was very huge and super comfortable to sleep.
Pipes in the bathroom are old and for thos reason stinky. Power of hot water innpipe is poor but os enough to take a slow shower. Showet is fulfilled with water which doesnt go away fast.

Excellent stay. It's a massive complex with many sections, looks beautiful day and night, perfect location near entrance gate to city wall and main roads. Room was big, clean, comfortable and nicely designed. Toiletries and breakfast included, good food. Staff very friendly, helpful and patient with my attempts at chinese/using a translator app. Overall great value, no issues at all.

Located inside the ancient city walls close to a number of attractions including South Street. The pick up and drop off service from the high speed railway station is a big plus with regards this hotel. Don't expect much else though. The rooms are dated, service mediocre and the breakfast adequate.

We visited in July 2022, it was very nice and friendly for foreigners. They provided a free pick-up and drop-off service from the train station and helped us organise transport to Mianshan. The staff were very kind and patient. We really enjoyed our stay

Hotel stupendo, staff gentilissimo: ci sono venuti a prendere e ci hanno riportati alla stazione per la partenza. Ubicazione perfetta, all’interno delle mura.
Nel complesso c’è anche un teatro che fa cena con spettacolo: abbiamo provato a prenotare il giorno stesso ma sfortunatamente non c’era posto: deve essere un’esperienza unica!
