Tides Oceanview Inn and Cottages

The room was okay. I have to leave my review and expectations based on the price of the room ($111 per night). The sleeping area and bathroom are pretty small. No housekeeping service unless it’s requested. No one told us that so we were wondering why our room wasn’t cleaned. Only when I went to the front desk was I told it’s “upon request “. So, I had to take out my own trash and ask for clean towels. Lots of freeway noise, but that’s no fault of the hotel. Just be aware of that. Location is great. Just a few minutes to the pier and downtown area. Front desk staff were super nice. Parking is plentiful. The bed is horrible. Probably the cheapest mattress you can get. My back was in pain every morning when I got up. The only microwave oven is at the front office. None in the room. The tiny in-room refrigerator was adequate. Would I stay there again???? Probably yes, but I’d bring my memory foam mattress topper with me. Again, I had an “okay” stay based on the price.

Stayed one night here while the rest of the family camped. Staff was very friendly, beds extremely comfortable and the room very clean. Very nice furnishings in the room including small refrigerator, large TV and coffee fixings. Great views of the ocean and restaurant right next door. Would definitely stay here again, great find!

Amazing And clean we had a great time with upstairs private deck for a great price. We will be coming back with our kids in the next few weeks. Would highly recommend it’s also right next to the beach and there is downtown with many places to eat, bowling, arcade, billiards, and the famous splash restaurant cafe with famous clam chowder

We had reservations at a nearby hotel but a system glitch meant that our room was unavailable, so they offered a cottage at The Tides as an alternative. Despite the initial disappointment of changed plans, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our accommodations. Destiny checked us in and was very kind and helpful, going above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the extra space that we wouldn’t have had at a hotel. Staff was quick to respond when we requested extra linens. Overall my family agreed we would absolutely stay here again! If I could offer one element of constructive feedback, it would be that storage is very limited. It would be helpful to add extra towel hooks in the bathroom for swimsuits etc to dry, and adding a bar in the first bedroom closet for hangers would also be nice. (We left some hangers in the one closet, I ended up buying some so we could make use of the closet!) Thank you for making our spring break trip so special!

Very modern looking and clean rooms. A few small issues but the price was low enough to make the issues acceptable. The wall-unit AC/Heater unit was loud and turned on and off all night and the shower drained very slowly, so we were always in a puddle of water. The shower is the size of a phone booth, but modern and clean (other than the drainage). The staff was friendly enough. Not overly personal or outgoing but still courteous. It didn't appear that the gas fire pits were working as there were always people around them but they were never on, and it was very cold at night! Very nice view of the ocean but there is no beach access.
