We are a family of four who booked months in advance a room at the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel, after 9 pm, we were notified that they overbooked and instead they are sending us to another hotel by Marriott (courtyard), 20 min drive from there. They assured us they reserved an appropriate room for us. Basically, as we came in late and booked one night only, they decided to sell our room to someone else, and “were kind enough “ to book for us a room that cost a third of what we paid for. Not offering any refund or compensation. When we arrived at the other hotel, with 2 children, they told us that they already told Del Monte, that they don’t have a suitable room for four and we ended up in a room with two folding beds. Sure enough, they have blamed ********** and the courtyard for our inconvenience. Also after writing them and ********** they blamed each other and didn't care too much about their customers. As frequent travelers and Marriott Bonvoy members, that would be the last time we stay with any Marriott hotel.
