Chabil Mar Villas - Guest Exclusive Boutique Resort

My family of 6 stayed for 2 days in an oceanfront suite with loft. The concierge was great and helped coordinate dinner reservations when we arrived as well as a snorkeling day trip. In the evenings they were great about shuttling us to Placencia and back as well. All meals were great, though I do wish we would have tried out more local places. The convenience of the roaming butler service was just too hard to pass up. Plus Placencia seemed like more of a bar hopping town than family friendly so I wasn't crazy about being there at night time. Weather was too windy for water sports but we did jump off the dock some and really enjoyed the pools. I worried a lot about bugs and brought all kinds of lotions and sprays but we didn't have any big issues. My 4yo played in the sand a lot and never saw sand fleas. I didn't realize the villas were all connected to each other. Luckily we only had 1 night where we could hear our neighbors, the rest of the time it was very quiet. If you are renting with the loft make sure your kids are older. The ladder to get to the top is just that, a large, slippery ladder. My kids weren't crazy about it especially when they had to get up in the middle of the night. Overall a nice and relaxing time. I love that the resort was small, my older kids had freedom and we felt safe. Oh and all the iguanas on the property were a huge hit!

I went on a week long fishing trip with a friend. What a fabulous place to come back to after a hard day of fishing. The people are very friendly. Service was impeccable. What we enjoyed the most was the food and how it was served. You can enjoy your meal anywhere on the property, in your room, at the bar at the beach under a palapa. We had to fish early and they brought our breakfast to go every morning right on time. I will be staying here every time i visit Placencia.

Perfect place for a 4-generation family gathering! Beautiful setting, comfortable accommodations, delicious food, and incredibly friendly and accommodating staff who worked with us to schedule a snorkeling outing and a boat trip to Monkey River jungle. They also helped us arrange a lovely and unforgettable dinner celebration on their pier. We were there over New Year’s Eve and had a blast dancing and singing karaoke! The resort is an easy walk to grocery shops and the town of Placencia. Highly recommended.

Belize was hands down our best ever vacation and Chabil Mar met every expectation we had from having a personalized chalkboard welcome note on arrival to the friendly shuttle driver at departure! One of our favorite Chabil Mar experiences was dining at our chosen location each meal, from our villa’s dining room table , our porch tables , the beach and the pier we just loved the cozy feel of not going to a restaurant like all of our other all-inclusive travels! Staff took care of every detail for our excursions and the excursions were exceptional, not a single disappointment in the beauty of our surroundings, the friendliness of the people and the array of wildlife we saw. Housekeeping kept our rooms clean, the bar and wait staff kept our cups full and the groundskeepers keep the beach clean and the greenery amazing. We did have an issue with patio lights being on all night and making sleep difficult but when we presented our concern the staff immediately made things right. I really appreciated that we had a washer and dryer in our room, ample seating options on our porch and comfy beds. We cannot say enough good things about Chabil Mar, it was above and beyond what we expected , the staff was phenomenal. We definitely would love to go back.

This place is brilliant for families. Very attentive service and they go out of their way to be of help to you. The food is delicious and reasonably priced relative to restaurants in Placencia. And the villas are huge! Very relaxing time here, thanks very much!

My wife and I stayed at Chabil Mar for three nights. We had a garden suite, near the reception and office, and we loved the room. It was huge, with a full living room, kitchen, separate bedroom with en suite, and a large deck in front. The room was nicely decorated with lots of wood furniture, local artwork and colorful tiles. The grounds are well maintained and nicely landscaped. The beach is not very large and the sea is not the postcard-Caribbean-blue we see in many other places. Placencia is generally not as picturesque as other Caribbean sites. Chabil Mar is one the closest luxury resorts to the town. It is about 1 mile walk to the north end of town by the road, but the road is not the best for walking. We walked on the beach instead, much more pleasant. The resort has a shuttle, but because of traffic and construction in town, it was not a fast option. We had breakfast each day and one dinner, from the resort's menu. The resort does not have a restaurant, but has an extensive menu and will deliver to the room or one of the beachside tables. Breakfast was fine, the dinner was mediocre. Service was excellent - all staff were friendly and helpful.
