This is the second time I have holidayed at the Elba and while I can say there has been some improvements there are a number of issues that they need to address quickly. The room, pool area and lounge facilities where good and comfortable however the Foyer looks tired and a little dated now many of the floor tiles and panelling are cracked or chipped. From my room to the main Foyer I counted ten path lights not working (bulbs out) and this was just one of a number of paths. During the evening as most people did we went for our evening meat in the main restaurant the choice was what you expected from a buffet however the choice of meals was good and changed every night the issue I had was with the service which was very slow and disorganised, many times I had to call over the waiter to order my drinks (table service), had difficulty in obtaining a table as they was not cleared very quickly however in their defence it was obvious that there was not enough staff on duty at any one time. The other main issue I had was in the lounge bar where again there was a distinct lack of staff on numerous occasions, there was long queues waiting to be served with as many as twenty people in the queue at any one time with only one person serving, one person washing glasses and one person collecting the glasses I understand this needs to be done but the whole process was disorganised and should have been focused on the resident’s needs I also had difficulty understanding why they persisted in serving drinks in the lounge bar at night in plastic glasses, around the pool area I fully understand but in the lounge bar at night? There seemed to be a lack of supervision in both the restaurant and lounge bar which I believed would have helped. While in general this is a pleasant hotel and just about meets its 4x rating unfortunately I have to say I will not be returning there again.

Check in to far to long , when we booked this hotel we asked for single beds ,check in we asked if there were two single beds and was told yes, on arrival at room there was one double. We returned to reception and asked to be moved to a room with two beds, the man that we spoke to was very rude his attitude was :to bad : that’s what was booked, we never got moved and it was quite clear he was not going to be helpful, we then asked for pillows to be delivered to the room and we would lay them in the middle of the bed ,,,, we asked 3 times before they got delivered,,,,, apart from that , we enjoyed the whole week, food was okay, entertainment in the evening was watchable.this was our second time at this hotel not sure about a third,
