The Robberg Beach Lodge - Lion Roars Hotels & Lodges

We stayed in a Luxury Suite which was huge with a big bathroom too. It was very clean and we had a complimentary bottle of wine waiting for us. This hotel had the fluffiest bathrobes ..... ever!! Breakfast was buffet with lots of choice and you could order hot items off the breakfast menu. We sat and ate breakfast looking out over Plettenburg Bay and the Indian Ocean. The hotel is just a couple of minutes walk for the beach so perfect location. And there is a viewing area on top of one of the blocks so you can spend time gazing out at the ocean. Main Street is about 5 minutes away in a car, it's too far to walk but worth the trip as there are plenty of places to eat & drink.

Unfortunately very average for premium pricing. The amenities are dated and service whilst friendly is not professional. When booking on the website there is a strong impression that you will have a sea view however this is misleading. Our room was at the back of the property and we may as well have been in the middle of town. The breakfast was passable and many evenings we didn’t get a turndown service. As experienced travelers we won’t return as there are many better offerings available.

Fabulous stay @ Robberg Beach lodge, our suite was on the top floor near to the rooftop bar with wonderful views. Just a 2 minute walk to the beautiful beach where we were lucky enough to see dolphins swimming in the sea. All staff were very professional and friendly always smiling and on hand for our every need. Our booking was B & B which was buffet style with lots of choice, cooked breakfast is available too. Didn't eat lunch or dinner here as we prefer to try local restaurants. Shout outs to 'Speedy' who went above and beyond to make our stay so special and for Ivy who kept our room spotlessly clean.

Comfortable hotel with beautiful sea views. Perhaps we were lucky with our room. Easy access to awesome beach. Staff friendly and attentive. More than adequate breakfasts and we had an excellent meal on our first night. Lots of steps in the hotel and down to the beach so May not be suitable for the less agile.

We had a wonderful visit to Plettenburg Bay and stayed in the beautiful setting of The Robberg Beach Lodge for 4 nights with our two teenagers. We had lovely beach facing suites which were ideal for us, lots of room and quiet despite being above restaurant we had no noise. To be able to watch sunrise from your bed or balcony was a highlight. As was breakfast on the deck. I could of sat there for hours watching the ocean, the sun shining even on a winters day and watching the dolphins jump in the waves was something special. The staff were lovely and our kids loved that they could have juice and a muffin any time in the bar where they could also play jenga and chill. There is great choices for restaurants a few km from the lodge and your a skip over the road to the beach. We enjoyed daily walks and did the big loop on the nature reserve at Robberg. Its a challenging walk but worth it one of the highlights of our holiday. The rooms were wonderful but the bathrooms were quite dated, without doubt they need upgrade. We sadly had a theft in one of our rooms which was very upsetting but our teen had forgotten to put in the safe, but the manager rectified this situation promptly. I would recommend this lodge overall. I don't feel one persons actions reflected the rest of the staffs attentiveness and kindness.
