Stayed for 2 nights in one of the suites with a balcony and direct view of the water. Everything in the suite was clean and super comfortable. The staff were very accommodating. The included breakfast was delicious, and you are seated in the beautiful cave restaurant. They also have a shuttle that takes you to a private beach that is part of their other nearby hotel. The view itself was worth the money for the 2 night stay.

We had dinner at the restaurant. What a disappointment. The location is great but the food and service is very mediocre and terribly overpriced . The restaurant has a strange policy that requires that if one person at the party orders the fixed prix dinner, all need to order a fixed prix dinner - others cannot order a la carte. When it came pay the bill, we had extra bottles of water on the bill (at 10 E each) which we had to argue to get removed. Service and food were very poor. The environment is really neat but it the poor service and food does not make up for the unique setting. Very expensive and poor value.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY - My experience was disappointing. Service was rushed at first, but then the staff became unresponsive for the rest of the evening, making it hard to get any help or even drinks. The food was average and overpriced, with small portions that were not cooked well. Overall, the experience fell far below expectations due to the slow service and mediocre quality. Was 300 euro per person what a joke.

Spend your money elsewhere! Food is so basic I can’t even give one star. The views are amazing, if you are willing to pay 400 euros for 2 people for a nice view then this is the right place, but please don’t go with high expectations for the meal you will have, is so low quality and the service very poor. They want you in and out, very impersonal, they are like little robots.

The views are great. The restaurant was way over priced. For 2 people and a bottle of wine it was 550 euros. The staff was nice, but our entrees were not good. Asked for steak medium and it was well done and the waiter put some horrible turkey gravy on it and there was no flavor. Apps and soups were good, but for that much $... don't waste your time. And the sea bass was small and not cooked! Save your $$$

Disappointing experience. The location is perfect and in the very center of Polignano but the hotel is simply a luxury and expensive B&B. It does not offer any services that you would typically expect from a 5 star hotel except the restaurant that is amazing. No lounge, no bar, no reception, just rooms. Rooms are nice but very “cold” atmosphere it feels like in a hospital. Definitely overrated!!

We had an amazing stay at the Grotta Palazzese. We had an incredible room with a sea view. The bed was very comfortable and the room itself was very upscale. Of course we had dinner at the restaurant inside the cave. It was a memory that we will never forget. We can cross it off the bucket list. The restaurant was as gorgeous as expected. The food was delicious also. The view of course is unbeatable. Although it was very costly staying at the hotel and eating at the restaurant, it is worth it. It is that good. Many thanks to Roberto, Enza, and Ilenia for making our stay perfect and unforgettable.

This hotel has beautiful rooms but you pay the price Location is great Breakfast is wonderful Not many amenities at hotel no cafes no bars Don’t expect to sleep before midnight as the outdoor restaurant plays music and can be heard loudly in your room Roberto and Ariana very friendly and happy to help Enza and Fortuna very rude ! The rooms have iPads that control the AC the lighting and the drapes etc Very hard to operate and gets very frustrating Overall overpriced for what you get

We stay at some of the finest hotels in the world and I have been in executive management in the hotel industry for most of my life. I was looking forward to staying at the Grotto Palezzese. The location is wonderful, BUT, it is insanely overpriced for the services available and overall experience. The staff is very pleasant and courteous but very average. There is no common area to relax. The rooms are average but turning a light or TV on which should be a simple task is an exercise in frustration with an Ipad that is unreliable and quite frankly overkill; I should add I am in the technology business and could not for the life of my figure out how to open the shades. The restaurant is more expensive than the most expensive restaurant in Manhattan and the food is mediocre and the service poor; dinner took 3 hours. I should add the restaurant is separately owned and must be paid for separately. I would not return to this hotel and am still trying to understand how any of the reviews do not mention the insanely high room rates.
