OX Hotel, Bar, & Grill

We stayed overnight at the Ox and it was a very spacious room with a comfortable bed (room 15). The room had tea and coffee making facilities, an iron and good shower pressure. The host was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was prepared with good quality ingredients. Very nice.

Absolutely fantastic! The food was incredible, the service was incredible. Everything is great! Shout out to the managers George and Zac for a wonderful experience! Brilliant location, and am looking forward to staying here in the hotel. Will be recommending to everyone I know.

A great bar with some very friendly bar staff!. Nice food. Rooms a bit tired & could be upgraded but nice to be in a local hotel/bar as opposed to generic business hotels. Two points of attention needed: bar tab should be possible for residents & not have to pay for each single drink. Breakfast on weekends start time of 08:00 is too late..just 30 minutes earlier would make a big difference. Location great and for sure I would recommend to stay here

This is a very quaint hotel. The bed and pillow were very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. Bathroom is lovely and gorgeous towels. Everything was clean and it was great to have tea coffee making facilities in the room, plus a bottle of water each. Yes the walls could do with a lick of paint but that's not a biggie for us. The bar area and restaurant are beautiful. We ate in the Thai restaurant with friends. The food was fantastic - tempura prawns were the crispiest ever. Excellent meal. The staff, particularly Lana, were all amazing and worked very hard indeed. We didn't have breakfast as too full from dinner the night before. We got a parking space in their small car park at the back of the hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

where do I start? Our room was very noisy as it was right above the generators which did not go off until about 10:30pm, but was on again at about 7am, so no use if you wanted to sleep in a bit later than 7am. If you have mobility issues, then this hotel is no use as they do not have a lift to the 1st floor which is where all the rooms are. The carpet on the stairs were tired and worn, so is the carpet in the room that we stayed in. Although a kettle and tea bags, etc were provided, there was no where to keep things chilled. There was was no use opening the window as all you got was dust blowing in. The curtain was drab and partly hanging from the fixtures. Parking was very, very limited. The only good point was the bathroom, which looked newly refurbished. The bath towels were about the only good thing as they were clean and fluffy, and very white, almost looked new. We had a meal in the restaurant which was very nice and the only reason why I gave it 3-stars. A return visit? No way!

We booked this hotel with family for a wedding so between us we had 4 rooms and got it at a very reasonable price but ! There is NO parking the carpark opposite the hotel is a 4 hour maximum stay and the on street parking is scarce and only really useful after 6pm weekdays but as there are do many pubs / restaurants these spots are taken by the people who use them . The room and furniture was old and in need of at least a lick of paint, they did however provide a fan as it was extremely hot and hotel hasno Aircon, the bathroom was lovely with a huge walk in shower our only issue was that the towel rail was permanently on which in hot weather was not good. We did try the breakfast on our last morning and although it was good at £12.50per person there are things they should do differently ! Things like coffee, juice pastries etc are only available if you ask for them these things should be there for you to help yourself it's probably OK if they have alot of staff or you are the only people there if its busy your better off going elsewhere eg there is a Toby carvery only a 6 min drive where you can get an u limited breakfast for half the price get it yourself and not wait to be served. That said we did enjoy our stay and the staff were nice but I wouldn't choose to stay there again as there are also no lifts and no accessible rooms so not good if you struggle with stairs.

We stayed 1 night before heading back to Jersey on the ferry in the morning. OX was a lovely venue, we were able to park at the back and a very helpful man showers us our room etc. unfortunately as it was a Sunday evening, it was closed so thankfully we had eaten somewhere earlier. The room was large with high ceilings, bed was comfy and there were toiletries and tea and coffee available. It probably could have done with a coat of paint as it was starting to look a bit shabby but it was clean and comfortable. We had keys for the outside side door to et in and went out to have a drink where there are 3/4 bars nearby. I can’t fault the area, it was perfect for us and not far from the harbour. We will definitely look to stay again when we have to travel to the UK.

We booked 5 rooms for a family wedding and everyone was happy. The rooms have everything we needed - clean and enough space. The bar and restaurant are nice too. Breakfast was lovely. Only one of us had dinner but she loved it. Parking is limited but staff were helpful in directing us to nearby parking.

Great place to stay, very reasonably priced and nice decor. Didn't eat here as had plans elsewhere. The room I stayed in was very big, nice comfy bed and powerful shower. Stairs a bit steep (possibly an issue for some) Very pleasant and accommodating staff.
