Zafiro Tropic

Just back from a week here and we were very fortunate with the weather and it was hot for most of the week. We had a top floor penthouse room with the added bonus of a large roof top terrace with a hot tub-also had an outdoor shower, seating and tables with a glass balcony providing stunning views. For anyone with mobility issues this room may not be suitable as there are steep stairs up to the rooftop terrace. The living room/kitchen had a couch (did have a pull out bed underneath, tv, table and chairs and a small kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, hob, pots and pans and crockery/glass wear- all the basics were met. There was also a small balcony with table and chairs off this room. The bathroom had a great walk in shower with toiletries and plenty of towels to use. Main bedroom had a very large bed and wardrobe but no tv which was a bit strange. The restaurant/bar was good with decent food being served and good drinks and nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff with the service being quick and efficient. You can use band to put drinks/food onto your room and settle this on check out. The pools were quite decent. The small children’s pool with inflatable was great fun and the pool next to it got the sun most the day. We also enjoyed the ‘chill out’ pool which had amazing sunbeds and great water therapy areas. A good place to go to read a book or sleep. The kids pirate ship and play area is great for younger kids. Beach is literally 5 minutes walk down the road and there are supermarkets, bars and restaurants within 5 minutes of the hotel in either direction. Plenty to do. The not so good.. We asked for the air conditioning to be on as it was really hot in the rooms during the night but we were told that because it was pre season they would not knock this on and needed plenty of complaints for something to be done- does customer comfort not count if the hotel is under occupied and it is pre season? If it is hot the air conditioning should be on! Asked at the front desk if there was any entertainment on during the week to be told Friday (that is when it starts) however it was on for the two nights before and the animation team had started their program during the day but there was no program etc so we didn’t know what was on and when. What a shame! The large main pool was used from dawn until dusk by triathletes with no availability for holiday makers. This should have been communicated by jet 2 and by the hotel prior to anyone’s stay as it was the largest and warmest pool at the hotel. I felt quite sorry for the guests staying right beside the pool as it was quite noisy even at 630-7am every single morning and we could hear it right over in our room. Hotel rules were also not followed ie no bikes allowed in lifts. It was also a bit strange when cleaners and hot tub maintenance let themselves in through a door on the upper terrace, irrespective of whether you were sleeping/sitting/eating.. maybe a knock on the d

Our stay at Zafiro Tropic was exceptional, thanks to Jaunma and Sandra’s outstanding service. Sandra ensured our vegan lifestyle was catered to with delicious options, making us feel truly valued. We had the best holiday at the best hotel with the best staff. The kids club was amazing, the staff are incredible (particularly Kiki and can’t remember the other girls name, great dancer!) Food was gorgeous with fantastic variety, Rafael the friendliest chef around :) Highly recommend a massage at the spa, was sooo good. Would definitely recommend and can’t wait to come back! Thank you

Travelled in group of 9 in September 5 adults, 2 teens a 7yr old and a 2yr old. Hotel does not accept cash, but their onsite shop does?! Absolutely nowhere on their website or on Jet2 does it say the hotel is card only! Hotel was clean, room was basic and the sofa bed advertised is not a sofa bed it is a trundle bed, which was not appropriate for the price or for the person sleeping on it. It should not be advertised as a sofa bed when it is not. Shower drain flooded the entire bathroom and there was permanent damp/drain smell in the room. Maintenance plunged the drain, but we were left to de flood the bathroom with no extra towels or cleaning facilities! View from our room was nice as we paid extra for a pool view. Entertainment was only really for 2-4yrs during the day and not much else to do for the older children. Nothing was advertised anywhere for evening entertainment! The pools were like ice baths and the baby pool was a no go zone unless you like swimming in ice water! They also do not allow children to enjoy the use of floats unless it is a baby aid, so money wasted on a child’s float as we were harassed by the lifeguards even after they told use the maximum size and we repurchased another float!!! However they allowed bodyboards in the water?! The reasoning was the other guests, but I’m pretty certain a bodyboard would cause equal inconvenience plus there is an ADULT ONLY pool for those not wanting kids to enjoy themselves! Prices were average, but there is no alcohol in the cocktails at all, so wouldn’t waste the money. Waiting staff were friendly and the guy that does the activities (aqua aerobics etc) was lovely. Not much goes on in Alcúdia other than nice restaurants. Couple of Irish bars with music some evenings. S’Espiga restaurant along the harbour is amazing value for money. The food is amazing and the prices are low!! Sgt Peppers pub is great value for money too. The breakfast was huge and delicious for around €8. Literally a two minute walk from hotel. Beach was nice but a slight drainage smell the further you swim out. We walked to the old town (20-25 mins) beautiful place but mostly restaurants and boutiques. Walked to the strip which was (20-25 mins) the other side of the hotel where we found a side road with lots of British bars and Irish bars with loads of live music, karaoke and one even had kids entertainment in the evening (White Rose). All 4 of our children caught a stomach bug on our last two days of holiday! Staff were good at changing the mattress, sheets and towels quickly though. Was a shame the holiday ended with a bug. Overall a nice holiday with just a few letdowns.

Staff fantastic, pool for lengths excellent apart from poor parents who let their offspring jump in and annoy people trying to train. Rooms fantastic. Could do with couple of punch bags in the gym as ex boxer . Partner very happy with gym facilities through. Shopping facilities close by are nice, not just your shops selling normal tourist rubbish..

Perfect set up for a cycling holiday. Great buffet style food, warm & clean swimming pools, lovely very helpful & friendly staff…… just a shame the air conditioning hadn’t yet been switched on. My room on the 3rd floor was unbearably hot so I didn’t sleep very well. Bathroom also smelt badly of drains. If these 2 things could be remedied I would definitely give 5 stars.
