Zafiro Tropic

Travelled in group of 9 in September 5 adults, 2 teens a 7yr old and a 2yr old. Hotel does not accept cash, but their onsite shop does?! Absolutely nowhere on their website or on Jet2 does it say the hotel is card only! Hotel was clean, room was basic and the sofa bed advertised is not a sofa bed it is a trundle bed, which was not appropriate for the price or for the person sleeping on it. It should not be advertised as a sofa bed when it is not. Shower drain flooded the entire bathroom and there was permanent damp/drain smell in the room. Maintenance plunged the drain, but we were left to de flood the bathroom with no extra towels or cleaning facilities! View from our room was nice as we paid extra for a pool view. Entertainment was only really for 2-4yrs during the day and not much else to do for the older children. Nothing was advertised anywhere for evening entertainment! The pools were like ice baths and the baby pool was a no go zone unless you like swimming in ice water! They also do not allow children to enjoy the use of floats unless it is a baby aid, so money wasted on a child’s float as we were harassed by the lifeguards even after they told use the maximum size and we repurchased another float!!! However they allowed bodyboards in the water?! The reasoning was the other guests, but I’m pretty certain a bodyboard would cause equal inconvenience plus there is an ADULT ONLY pool for those not wanting kids to enjoy themselves! Prices were average, but there is no alcohol in the cocktails at all, so wouldn’t waste the money. Waiting staff were friendly and the guy that does the activities (aqua aerobics etc) was lovely. Not much goes on in Alcúdia other than nice restaurants. Couple of Irish bars with music some evenings. S’Espiga restaurant along the harbour is amazing value for money. The food is amazing and the prices are low!! Sgt Peppers pub is great value for money too. The breakfast was huge and delicious for around €8. Literally a two minute walk from hotel. Beach was nice but a slight drainage smell the further you swim out. We walked to the old town (20-25 mins) beautiful place but mostly restaurants and boutiques. Walked to the strip which was (20-25 mins) the other side of the hotel where we found a side road with lots of British bars and Irish bars with loads of live music, karaoke and one even had kids entertainment in the evening (White Rose). All 4 of our children caught a stomach bug on our last two days of holiday! Staff were good at changing the mattress, sheets and towels quickly though. Was a shame the holiday ended with a bug. Overall a nice holiday with just a few letdowns.

Very poor service. Left our luggage in the rain when we arrived, unhelpful/ rude when I asked for an iron, room not made up for the first two days, no answer on the the phone. They even struggle to book a taxi and all the food is beige! As the saying goes, “pay peanuts get….. “

We had a fantastic week at Zafiro Tropic, it was everything we had hoped for and more. Firstly, I must say how great the staff were, they were all helpful & friendly. Always a friendly “Hello” with a smile on their face, and they work so hard. The room was superb, a massive bed, air-con, a great walk-in shower, a nice not-overlooked balcony with table & chairs, a fridge, sink, microwave etc. We were there to do some cycling and hired 2 bikes, mountain bike style, one Medium and one XS size. The bikes are owned by the hotel and they have over 200 to choose from, they have mechanics on hand if you need a hand or advice. We only had lunch at the hotel on one day as we were usually out. Everyday we had breakfast and an evening meal at the hotel. The food was plentiful with so many choices it would be hard to imagine anyone would not find something they liked. The hotel attracted many sports people/groups as it had superb facilities – gym, spa, swimming, tri-athletes and of course cycling. We did wonder about the area around the hotel but, on the first morning, we wandered out and within a few minutes we were on a beautiful beach with a wide path leading to the port. Everything about this hotel is done on a large scale – reception, bar, restaurant, pools, outdoor seating. We had of course gone “out of season”, I imagine it would be a different place in the height of Summer.

From the moment we walked in ,we were made welcome, the staff at reception were great and we loved our upgraded room , Thank You. This hotel is great for cyclist, swimmers, Family's and couples. It was close to the Marina and shops and not far with a car to Old Town Alcudia. Great place to relax too

Grabbed an off-season discount in February and it's the best deal for the luxury apartment we stayed in! Very clean rooms and comfy beds/sofa-beds. Good, clean pools for kids to enjoy. 2 washers and 2 driers are very good, however, just not sufficient for the crowds during the peak season! Had minor issue with door locks that was instantly resolved by the team. Very good quality meals on offer in the restaurant & bistro bar.

An amazing 4 star hotel. We had an appartement and a studio..very spacious with King size comfortable beds. The rooms were very warm and we slept well. Rooms were adjoining with a garden each with sun loungers, tables and chairs. Instead of a key or card to open the door, they tied a bracelet to our wrists..one tap and the door opened. The bracelet also served for opening spa doors, gates in evening and paying bills around the resort. I usually spend ages looking for keys etc…this was so easy..no fear of Losing purse, key etc.Two pools were heated in February but not very warm and very deep. No shallow end so as I’m only 5 ft it was heavy going. The children’s splash pool and children’s main pool were freezing…my only complaint. The indoor pool was great but again no shallow end. The restaurant was buffet style but price wasn’t displayed on entry….great value for adults but not for 4 year olds. The beach was a 5 minute walk away and the walk to the old town took 20minutes. The children’s play area was great and I understand that there’s a club for them in the main season. I love this hotel and would go again. The staff were really helpful.
