Beautiful location in the centre of port Douglas. Just a few minute walk to Coles, restaurants, and the marina where the tours for the Great Barrier Reef depart from. There’s a beautiful coastal walk nearby also. The staff are all extremely helpful and welcoming, more than happy to help book tours and airport transfers etc. and full of knowledge about the surrounding area. Room was tidy and clean and they have a beautiful pool to relax in and even a sauna to sweat it out in! Would definitely recommend staying here

This hotel gets 3 1/2 stars due to its central location, great view, friendly staff and cleanliness. It is pretty dated and The lift only goes to the second floor and we were on the third floor. It was easier just to use the stairs which at 69 and 70 was a slight challenge with a suitcase and our grocery shop.

The studio we rented was very disappointing. Dusty, cobwebs and dingy room. The place needed a good clean and an upgrade in furnishing. There was a charge for an extra towel. Faucets in the bathroom old and made noise when turning on and off. Stove was old and functioned poorly

Stayed in one of the recently refreshed room looking over Macrossan st. Fantastic location Room was tastefully renovated with a fabulous round bath. Well appointed outdoor kitchenette on the balcony. Sparkling clean. Facilities were clean but tired. Only downside was the pub across the road, music in the evening was a little loud some nights but overall great stay. Reception staff were super helpful despite us booking through air bnb. Will be back

Our second visit and Gisela and the team were amazing. They made my birthday very special and nothing was too much trouble, even calling outside business hours because we stupidly locked ourselves out. Rooms are airy, spacious and clean. Beds are an absolute delight. Club Tropical is close to everything Port Douglas has to offer, beach, bars, shops and market are all within walking distance. We will be back.

The customer service is truly excellent. Email a fair way ahead with suggestions to book activities/ Restaurants in advance ( we knew but others may not) . Staff were all very friendly and efficient once we got there. Over and above obliging by having room ready very early as a prior email asked approx arrival time and we knew as transferring from close by. They were also able to provide a room in the area of the resort we requested. The room although clean could have done with a bit of sprucing up as in tile grouting etc but we are fully aware apartments are privately owned and maintenance in the tropics is tricky. We find the pool and water garden is still appealing and suits the tropical town its a shame it is going to change fairly dramatically in the Reno's that will eventually occur. Guess the body corp have decided. Still in great location but the sleepy town seems to have got a bit noisier! Although not too bad . Still highly recommend Club Tropical .

Customer service is shocking. Would not recommend. We couldn’t stay here due to the cyclone they had no running water and no bottled water in Cole’s. We were told this on prior to boarding our flight there. So we needed to book last minute in cairns. This hotel have not refunded me ignoring my emails and phone calls. Do not stay here would not recommend they are not helpful or friendly

Location was perfect and convenient, next to restaurants, main shopping, wharf and Anzac park. The whole Guest Services Team were so friendly and always available. We enjoy the pool, a water garden and our room with fully equipped kitchen. We highly recommend to stay in this wonderful Club Tropical Resort. Natalie and Allan Sydney, NSW

First class prices, third class standard. Great location if you want to be in the thick of it, however, our room was dirty, and incredibly noisy. We were directly across the road from the pub on New Year’s Eve with live music until 2am. When we requested a change of room we were rudely advised to pay a $100 cleaning fee. When we challenged this we were told to go through *********** who did their best but also advised the same. The venue did not seem to be interested in ensuring we were looked after. Very disappointing given the price. Ended up bailing and moving elsewhere which was cheaper and much nicer.
