If disappointment had a location, it would be Kittiwake House, mismanaged by Dave. The moment I stepped into the room, a nauseating stench of neglect hit me. It was as if the sheets had been marinating in dampness and the towels, reeking of a week's worth of use, mocked basic hygiene. The electricity meter saga was a cruel joke. Presented as a 'minor' additional charge, it quickly morphed into a daylight robbery. The initial £5 credit vanished within hours, and the subsequent top-up rates were absurdly inflated. When we reached out to Dave, hoping for understanding or a solution, we were met with contempt. His rudeness peaked when he hung up on us, bluntly refusing to cancel our next night's stay or offer any form of refund. He audaciously claimed that £2 a day was more than adequate, which barely powered the heating for a few hours. Adding insult to injury, after we decided to leave due to these intolerable conditions, Dave cancelled our booking and falsely marked us as a 'no-show', effectively silencing our chance to formally review on the booking platform. This underhanded tactic to prevent honest feedback will not go unnoticed, especially since I have photographic evidence I did in fact stay. Claiming a 4-star rating, Kittiwake House is a masterclass in deception. From its hidden costs to its appalling hygiene standards, it's an establishment that not only falls short of basic hospitality norms but also redefines the lows to which a lodging can sink.
