River Side Inn New Port Richey

When I was checking in the guy working the desk around 11:45 pm on 01/29/2023 gave me a hard time about where I parked my car to check in and questioned if I had pets with me like he did not believe I did not have any. I did not feel unsafe as a single female or see anybody milling around outside when I was getting into my room so late at night on a Saturday. The room could use a facelift for sure; there were wires sticking out the door handle outside, the carpet is dirty and will make your feet black like anywhere else, the desk chair was old and falling apart, the desk/dresser/tv remote/nightstand were obviously not cleaned as they had residue/sticky spots/dust, pretty much the whole bathroom needs renovated, they left a roll of used toilet paper in the bathroom but I’m not sure if that’s standard practice, the floors of the bathroom needed swept, the toilet looked like it was lazily cleaned, and rooms definitely are not soundproof like advertised but was not disturbed by the normal noise of comings and goings. But the ac works, did not see any bugs, was provided with clean linen, and tv works fine and even has HBO and HBO 2. There’s a microwave, mini fridge, and safe- only used the fridge which was clean and works. Sinks and tub get hot and drain like they’re supposed to. Did not use coffee pot but one was provided and appears clean. Bed was a little hard for my liking, but did not expect much for the price and it was better than sleeping in my car in a Walmart parking lot. There is a beverage vending machine and laundry facilities on the premises, but I did not use them. I am thinking about checking out the pool later, but heard talk of it might be out of service and sketchy people hanging out around it. I will update if I end up checking it out.
