This is in a great location near the centre of town, on the water and the staff are very friendly, but ... the venue is run down and in need of maintenance. The pool is mouldy around the edges, the decking is lifting in many places, lower mattress is mouldy and torn, timber venetians replaced with painted glass so not blockout, plumbing fittings don't fit, outdoor bar roof covered in a tarp, ceiling panels missing in dining area.

I liked this place. Great location only ten minute walk into town, and beautiful views. We were upgraded to the harbourside rooms, but actually would have preferred the poolside as the afternoon sun is too hot at the harbourside rooms. The rooms are basic but clean. The air con worked well. The pool is nice and the bar restaurant area is very pleasant with options to be on the sand. The restaurant was okay but not great. The included breakfast was basic. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Overall the price was okay in comparison to other options and if I returned to Port Vila, I would stay here again.

We stayed here for a week and this is nothing like the pics. We thought we would be staying on the ground floor as per the pic next to the pool, however we were on the 2nd floor. All the rooms are so small you can not swing a cat in them and the ensuite can only fit one person in at a time. Very small. Extremely noisy hotel. Dripping taps, slamming doors due to no softening placed on the swing of door hinge to make it close slower. Uncomfortable beds. No pool table as website stated. Water activities we had to pay for. However, this is more of a motel, not a hotel. Very old and run down. Breakfast is very ordinary and not worth eating at the Moorings. We went out for breakfast. We went to the Warick Resort whilst here and found that this is the resort type of accommodation we were looking for. It didn't cost anymore either to stay in a 5 star hotel with a full hot buffet breakfast and freshly cooked pancakes, omelet, bacon included in price. Don't worry about being close to the airport /town as being a reason to book here. It is only 150vatu from the Warick to the Airport or into town by 'B' bus. All water activities are free as well there. After seeing both and staying at both, I would never go back to the Moorings even if it was only $50 a night Australian money. So not worth it. Feel very ripped off indeed.

Great central location, lovely welcoming and helpful staff, clean and well maintained, excellent value for money. Kids loved the pool. Reasonably priced good food. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Kind staff saved our bacon. we were meant to stay at a hotel near airport (premier airport motel - dont do it) but it was the dodgiest place i've ever laid eyes on. our driver brought us to Moorings and we were so relieved. great sleep, good food and wine, fabulous staff, only 15 minutes to airport.
