Turim Estrela do Vau Hotel

The courteous and helpful reception desk staff made my late midnight check in stress free. The pool area is lovely and my apartment studio was very spacious with comfortable bed and mini kitchen, great bathroom too with bidet. I also had a beautiful view at the front of the hotel. A really lovely and much recommended stay. I used the on site restaurant for dinner one evening lovely staff and the set 3 course meal with one glass of wine included 25 euros. The wifi works throughout the hotel and never dropped out from my studio throughout the whole complex.

Very dissatisfied with this hotel. The hotel itself was clean but dated. Pool was filthy. Over a week stay, we had to endure construction work, ie a Kango hammer on the roof beside the pool… could only tolerate a short time for a few days and headed off. We were not made aware of this situation and when we complained no apologies were made, staff gave up an email address to complain to, which would not accept any messages/ emails. Staff were very unhelpful. On one particular day we were accosted by a staff member for using towels from our room at the pool, we were never informed that the towels were behind reception. Another guest told me her room was full of cockroaches and had even gone to buy spray herself as staff did not help. I know we travelled pre tourist season in April but bar closed early, no activities or food, as advertised.Also, unless you have a car, be prepared to pay a lot of money on taxis, we had a car, we were lucky, closest shop about 20 minutes away. Hotel not close to any amenities. Overall very disappointed, please consider another hotel if you want a nice holiday, I would not recommend!

My partner and myself stayed here from 6th April to the 13th April in room 117 the staff was very helpful and polite the one that really stood out was Irene. This is a lovely place but we did find the bed to be really firm which did cause some problems for us. Also we booked a double bed room and we got two singles so when we went to reception they said they show us a different room but that was also two singles so we ended up having to push them together. That is why I gave them 4 stars as that let them down a bit. The pool is really nice and they can arrange car hire and a car to take you to the airport and a good price. We got quoted 97 euros to take us to faro airport and they got it for 80 euros for us.

After several phone calls and emails requesting a refund of $73.10 - We are taking this matter up with Visa and government agencies. We did not stay one evening in this hotel. Unpleasant experience - walked into a filthy uninhabitable room, walked out. As of Dec 2024, this hotel has told us we would be taken care of. They have not refunded this fraudulent charge to our Visa. E-mail correspondence will be posted in photographs. Do not stay in this hotel.

We stayed in for 5 nights.Location is really good when you have car.Rooms are a bit dated but clean.We enjoyed the fact it was not too busy or noisy place. However the receptionists upon our arrival were clearly not in good mood.No smile no welcome...basically they seems to bothered by the fact we came in to check in.To be fair it was 11pm but still... Also we had to paid deposit 100euros and we have been told we will get it refunded after check out.We have checked out 4 days ago and we still didn't receive it back!!! I guess it could have been really nice place if the reception will be little bit more welcoming and rooms renovated a bit. At this point I have to say that our experience was below average.

So had a family holiday in the Algarve staying at this hotel. First impressions were good even though the building is dated. We couldn't check in until 3pm which is normal but at 3pm we were told it would be another hour for us to wait.. We did try and get a freebie out of things, a drink or something but it didn't work 😁. They then found a suitable room so things were good. The rooms have a kitchen in, so basically an apartment type room. The rooms are basic but clean and really comfy beds. They also have balconies you can sit on. So after two nights we had to ask to be moved because of the consistent noise from the rooms above late into the night. The staff moved us with no issues at all which was great because paying a lot of money for a holiday and being kept up most of the night is not what anyone wants. The second room was so much better, UNTIL we got new neighbours who were on the lash until 3am . It only took me banging on their door to shut them up . The other annoying thing about the hotel is they insist on playing crap music by the pool all afternoon.. So if you want to be guaranteed a quite family holiday this might not be the place. The food is rubbish also with buffet style eating at 25 euros a head for dinner is expensive. The staff are fantastic though.. Hope this helps you with your decision.
