The hotel is well located and most things are a short or not too long walk mostly down hill. The reception staff make the hotel easy and pleasant as they are very helpful, sadly i forgot to as their names. Nothing seemed to much trouble, when we asked them for something that was required. Breakfast needs a bit of work, but nothing drastic. A hotel if we were returning to Porto we would use again.

I really enjoyed my stay here. In fact I stayed twice. Once at the beginning of walking The Camino and an extended stay after my walk. The facilities are an older charming and quaint atmosphere and the staff really went out if their way to make me feel at home and went the extra mile in helping me navigate the city. I could walk to all destinations in the city from here. I would stay here again if I go back to Porto.

Stayed for 3 nights here to celebrate birthday. Very welcoming and helpful guys on reception. Very responsive to special requests eg. lower floor room/ storing luggage before check-in and after check-out. Room basic but OK - not cleaned very well with dusty floor and bins not emptied. A lot of noise from room above. Very convenient for sightseeing/shopping/eating but rather steep roads up to the hotel. Did not have breakfast here but used bar next door for coffee/tea/ bread/juice - very friendly and not expensive. Porto is a lovely city with much to see and do. Very nice restaurants next to the river and on the other side in Gaia but very busy. A most enjoyable trip.

Very good location, close to Bolhao metro station. Friendly service, excellent cleanliness. Entrance to the hotel protected with a password, reception from 8 am to midnight. Breakfast served from 8 am, but you can be served earlier upon prior request. Free coffee and delicious cakes 24/7! Excellent place to stay if your diary in Porto is fully booked and you need to have a good sleep before the next busy day!

It didn't meet our expectations. Yes, the hotel is in a renovated old house, with "trendy" rooms. The location is excellent, only a five-minute walk from Bolhao market and public transportation. But the room was dirt, the floor was mopped in a hurry (white sox, were full of dirt after a while). The bathroom's trash can have used toilet paper from previous guest. The staff "tried" to be courteous but were not genuine. Only one staffer (Gonçalo) went the extra mile to help. They were also extremely pushy in selling their breakfast and rude when we declined to pay for it. It's an affordable option to stay in Porto, but I'd pay a few extra euros to stay somewhere else.

What a fabulous little hotel! 😍 The staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Thank you so much to Rui, Sonia, Tania and Gonsalo! The rooms are basic but spotlessly clean. There isn't a lift and our rooms were on the first floor, but our suitcases were carried upstairs on our arrival and down on our departure. Home-made cake and a coffee machine are available on the foter landing 24 hours a day. A lovely touch! The breakfast consists of cereals, fresh fruit, a variety of bread and croissants, ham, cheese, scrambled egg, yogurt and home-made savoury and sweet pastries. A brilliant variety for a small hotel. The hotel is situated a 10 minute downhill stroll to the famous Calle Santa Catarina and 15 minutes from the Bolhao Market and San Bento Station. On arrival we were given maps and told about the many things to do and see and we were able to buy tourist bus tickets. Rui was so helpful! We can thoroughly recommend the Porto Charme Hotel.

Right size of room, great location, necessary amenities. Sober , inviting and elegant atmosphere. We were welcomed initially by Gonzalo who was very helpful in explaining the in and outs of the city and main interesting places to visit. Sonia , at the reception was as well extremely kind and helpful with tips and info about transportation and answered in a very detailed manner any inquiries we had. Special mention to Raquel who graciously greeted us every morning with an outstanding variety of fruit and healthy choices for breakfast. She even cooked eggs at our choice. We felt at home and rated our stay the best in our two weeks in the country Pepe and Margarita
