Mount Stewart Hotel

Went for evening meal. I last was at the hotel 15 years ago, i.usually frequent the harbour pubs over my many visits. My mistake!! , the Mount Stewart is the best pub/hotel in portpatrick. Decor is excellent and clean. Food and alcohol prices are reasonable and comparable to other pubs. Views are fantastic. Food quality is a cut above other venues, especially the quality of the jus/sauces. Food is cooked perfectly. I wasnt going to come back to Portpatrick as I have relocated, but the Mount Stewart hotel might be a factor in making my longer trip worthwhile. Thanks.

What a wonderful find this hotel is. Very boutique and classy with great service and very attentive staff. The bar has a good vibe with nice music. We had the surf on turf which was delicious. Our room was perfect we had the Cameron room Only fault would be it’s up a slight hill and I’m not the best on my feet but the view is worth it There are some other lovely bars too

Lovely boutique hotel, friendly staff , stunning views . Reception was friendly and helpful. We upgraded our room when we arrived. Which gave us a bigger room with stunning Portpatrick views. Very well equipped, with king size bed, sofa, table and chairs. Great stay,

This was our third visit to the restaurant, once for lunch and twice for afternoon tea. The lunch was delicious. Afternoon tea was huge. Really good quality sandwiches and homemade cakes and scones. It was such good value we have paid double what we paid at the Mount Stewart and not had anywhere near as good quality and value. On each occasion we have had a table with a sea view, absolutely spectacular. Looking forward to our next visit.

Stayed before, went for drinks, great view of the bay, nice place to sit. Booked a meal as had eaten before, starters great, but the burger raw in the middle, advised service staff. Advised could not finish meal and offered to pay two thirds for that course. We were offered a free dessert, turned that down, then advised that medium rare was how the chef made it And so on. If you want it that Way you ask, all chopped meat should be cooked through. Eventually deducted that course from the bill and offered free drinks. We declined free drinks and paid. Felt sorry for the server as she went to and from Kitchen. Chef to busy to come out although we were amongst the last. Left a large tip for the young girl as felt she was stuck in the middle

Booked over the phone. i felt the man i spoke to didn't have a clue so i then emailed to create a paper trail. Photos i saw was old worldly with log fire and a hot tub. Arrived chinzy and was told never had a hot tub yet a hot tub was in a cupboard on the half landing. i booked 2 rooms sea view, rooms nice but poor finishings throughout. Stunning view. We were never informed they were 3 flights up so it was tough. If elderly or unfit it would have been a disaster. on arrival at 2.50pm immediately asked for payment, then rudely told this did not include breakfast for the 3 mornings . i was angry at this as i had booked afternoon tea for 3pm and was told we had 10 mins to sit. After correcting their error that i had paid for breakfast, now 2 staff being rude. i said if it wasn't to far i would have walked out. no apologie.i asked any chance we could put our bags in our rooms or would they like us to take them to the table. Got into rooms , my room lock broken which they were aware of. Some areas poorly decorated but a great size, my friends room was like an oven.Afternoon tea lovely eventually came at 3.30pm. asked several staff about the area sightseeing, answer we dont know. no local information in a booklet form. arrived fri home mon our rooms were never entered by the cleaners, bins full dirty towels no toilet rolls. yes if you asked it was provided. Breakfast food was amazing and Libby was lovely and very attentive
