My husband and I stayed here, the view from our terrace was spectacular! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. A lot of stairs and steps throughout Positano, but that’s okay as you can burn off your pasta! We had a wonderful stay. Love this property!!

Location is perfect, and everyone is incredibly friendly. Rooms are very nice, and the view from our room was probably one of the best in Positano. Anna and Gilberto are two of the best, and most kind people I’ve met in two weeks staying in Italy.

I went to Positano for a wedding. My first visit. The minute I arrived at the jetty I didn't want to leave. When I got to the hotel John was there, I was late for a pre wedding dinner. John was so welcoming and helped me organise getting to the restaurant. The hotel is gorgeous but what really makes it special is that it is family run and has that extra personal touch. John, Anna, the waiters and maids can't do enough for you. The rooms are beautiful and full of charm with balconies and amazing views of Positano. You will never get bored of that view. So clean. Lovely breakfast. 10 minute walk to the beach. John hosted a post wedding gathering for us with drinks and canapés in the restaurant. The waiters were brilliant, so friendly and always ready to help. I loved it there, made some fantstic memories and didn't want to say goodbye. I can't recommend this hotel enough. Thank you John, Anna and all the staff for making my first experience of Positano an unforgettable one. I hope to be back one day. Emma :)

we had the absolute pleasure of staying at Albergo California for the month of June in the room with a full terrace. We wanted to experience living like a local for a month and this hotel delivered on EVERY level. Firstly the views from the hotel are spectacular. It is literally opposite Le Sirenuse & Bar Franco but here you get to experience a family experience. From the time of booking through to the day we left you felt part of the Cinque family. John and his team where amazing, very single one of them going above and beyond to offer exceptional service from gorgeous Anna at reception, to the lovely ladies that serviced our rooms daily to the gorgeous boys that serviced us breakfast every morning, Augustino, Ricardo, Salvatore, all amazing. It also has an amazing restaurant Da Giovanni which for some reason never comes up in the top 10 reviews. We ate there a few times and it was one of the best meals we had in Positano!! It is real value for money for what you get. It is an absolute must stay!

Hotel California was the best choice we could have made in Positano. The views were OUTSTANDING and I think you’d have a hard time finding better in the town. The staff was incredibly friendly. They got to know us and went above and beyond. Breakfast was so special each morning, and of course included that incredible review. The hotel booked several excursions for us and provided excellent recommendations. I recommend reaching out over email to inquire about activities. Lastly, the room was beautiful, had everything we needed with plenty of space to spread out. The terrace was lovely and we sat morning and night admiring the view. Also the AC worked SO well!

Luxury hotel in the heart of Positano with a nice view over a part of the city and a balcony to enjoy the sunset. Warm welcome and very kind service, delicious breakfast and the possibility to park the bikes inside the garage. We would return in case of another vacation.

This hotel is absolutely PERFECTION. We stayed here based off Facebook suggestions and I am so happy we did. All communication with John and the rest of the staff was easy and quick from the beginning. We travelled as a family of 3 with myself, my husband and our 1.5 year old. The staff was so accommodating and kind to my son. They made sure we had a crib and also even packed us a to go breakfast when our flight was very early upon departure. The hotel room was huge, clean and beautiful. It had a balcony with amazing views of Positano. Honestly the pictures do not do it justice. The walk from the beach was very manageable which was important to us with a toddler. We will absolutely be staying here on our next trip to Positano. We really felt like family!

Although we had looked at some photos online, we didn't truly appreciate how great this hotel was until we arrived. Coming from the ferry port, we had a bit of a walk but since we had backpacks, it wasn't too bad. The location itself is amazing - it is situated along one of the main stretches of the town that has that iconic vantage point looking back on the western part of Positano - taking photos of that beautiful view from our balcony or the terrace during morning breakfast were effortless. All of the staff we encountered, both during check in, during afternoon drinks, and during breakfast were all very friendly, personable and helpful. The breakfast was a great spread and we enjoyed everything they had to offer. The room was very spacious and like I mentioned, the balcony view is perfect. Would highly recommend this place.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel California for three nights, the room was clean and comfortable with an extraordinary view of Positano. There was a small table on the balcony where we could sit outside. The staff were wonderful and the food in the restaurant Don Giovanni was delicous. In advance of our arrival, the staff sent us extremely helpful information about transportation.
