Super 8 by Wyndham Knoxville North/Powell

Although the location is convenient to the expressway, the quality of the room was pathetic & not what we have come to know & expect from the Wyndham brand. The 1st room assigned had a horrible odor & flying insects (fleas?). The 2nd room was only slightly better. The "suite" had a couch that belongs in a dumpster because it was old, ratty & filthy. The microwave was non-existent until the clerk found 1 & bought it to the room. However, it was unusable due to rusted inside & also belongs in the same dumpster. The TV remote was missing & once 1 was brought, it had to be programmed & then, the TV barely worked due to bad reception. The bedspread & shower curtain was stained. The wash rags looked dingy & dirty. The bathmat had dirt spots on it. The base of the toilet was totally disgusting. The bathroom sink surround was new granite style & the flooring as newish. Unfortunately, both needed to be thoroughly cleaned. In general, just tear the place down & start over! I chose this location specifically because of the WYNDHAM brand. This is certainly not what we know as the brand's quality. The only positive was the clerk; she was patient & polite.

It was great except for the roach bugs we encountered when we opened the dresser drawer. Everything else was great. Could have used either more towels or bigger ones. The woman who checked us in was very sweet . But I did book a room with a king-size bed and ended up with two doubles

Bugs! Filth! More bugs! Weird sketchy people staying there. I didn’t feel safe from the people or the bugs in the room.

I used Google Maps to find a hotel/motel to stay at in North Knoxville. I clicked on the red icon. I asked the young lady who wwas not very fluent in English if she was working at that Super 8. She said "YES." I asked for two queen size beds and non smoking. She was unable to give me directions but did provide an address. When we checked in we were direceted to a smoking room with one Queen size bed. We returned to the office (the office worker Candy was most pleasant and apologetic. The room we were given reeked of cigarette smoke. There was a hole in the bathroom wall. It was a plain room...not really dirty but old. I expected more professional help in making the reservation. I am retired military and I have traveled a lot. This site leaves much to be desired.

Filthy nasty dirty. No smoking room reeks of cigarettes. Looked at 5 rooms trying to find one that wasn’t dirty. Shower filthy bed linens with cigarette burns

The room smelled awful. The heater was too loud to use. The mini fridge didn’t work. Beds were nasty. We had no toilet paper. We honestly should have slept in the car instead! We didn’t see he’d bugs though so we slept a few hours and got the heck out!

The rooms are dirty. The towels are threadbare. The breakfast is non existent. The manager needs some upgrade in his customer service skills. When I complained about the quality of the breakfast he said maybe I should not have stayed there. There are many other hotels. Even the cheap price at this place isn’t enough.

Torn bedding, used soap in shower, blood on wall, dead bugs on floor, dirty pillow, broken entry door. The first room offered was even worse than the 2nd. It was New Year’s Eve so another hotel was not an option.

Late, late check in. Just drove up looking for a place to get some rest before continuing on our trip. At check-in I just asked if there were any rooms available. Without asking any questions the night clerk gave us a room key. We went up to the room got ready for bed and we turned down the beds only to find the sheets were full of cigarette burn holes. So bad we slept on top of the beds fully clothed. In the morning we also noticed how poorly the room was cleaned. I asked the manager for a 50% refund due to the condition of the room. His response was that we had a smoking room and he couldn't afford to constantly replace sheets every time a smoker burns holes in their sheets. We weren't offered a smoking/non smoking choice upon check in. I also told the manager that shouldn't all guests, smoking or not, deserve clean bed sheets? He didn't budge or apologize.
