We were very impressed. It's a 400 year old building so it has a certain cosy, homey, old world feel without any fancy bling. The first thing that we noticed is how quiet it was even though it was close to all the action. It's on a looped street with practically no traffic and backs onto a channel of the river...more on that in a moment. We had a 2 room suite, very large and comfortable. Fridge stopped working but it was replaced while were out...very attentive hosts. The breakfast was very substantial BUT it only runs from 8:30 to 10:30 so that's a bit late if you want to get to any sites when they open (usually 9). As a result, it can get busy at 8:30 which can overwhelm the kitchen...you may end up waiting for eggs for example. But if you aren't in a rush, it's fine. Now about that river channel. This is their secret weapon but they haven't capitalized on it. Down through the narrow garden sits a patio with some old chairs and dusty table overlooking the babbling river and huge park on the other side. The landscape designer in me was going crazy with what they have here... new see through railings (currently brick, blocks some view), new furniture, some tile on the floor, some lighting. OMG! We swept and cleaned it up a bit and spent a couple evenings down here with wine listening to the faint music from the park and the birds. Glorious. There's a restaurant next door that charges lotsa money to sit on the same riverbank and you get it included in your stay. Will definitely go back there if in Prague again. (oh, pay attention to your arrival time...I didn't read the fine print...check in closes at 7 so you need to make arrangements if you're arriving later, they graciously accommodated my stupidity.)
