Barceló Praia Cape Verde

The hotel was very nice. I love the modern yet minimalist decor. It has a beach aesthetic (materials and colors used) but it’s still sophisticated. The room was spacious and comfortable, especially the bed. And the sound of the waves (as it’s on the beach) is great for sleeping. I loved the balcony which was spacious and overlooked the beach. The staff were very professional and welcoming. They offered helpful suggestions for restaurants and tours. The location is ideal as it’s surrounded by other hotels , restaurants and bars. Only one major complaint: the restaurant !The staff were great but the food, especially the dinner was terrible. The scallops we ordered were so overcooked they were rubbery. The fish we ordered was not fresh and had not been seasoned at all, not even salt or pepper, just a lot of garlic and oil. We left most of our food in the plate because we just couldn’t eat it. Breakfast was limited. Mostly bread, pastries, processed meat and cheese and fruit and eggs. I wish there had been at least fried or roasted potatoes, or even local foods like rice, beans, pumpkin, sweet potato and protein options like chicken or fish for those of us who eat real food for breakfast.

The Barcelo is a beautiful small hotel overlooking the sea. It is certainly the best hotel in Praia and one is really looked after there by the most charming and helpful staff. The rooms are superb and the breakfast is really good.

This is the best hotel in Praia. Great views of the ocean. Spacious quiet rooms. Great location. Spectacular service at this hotel. I will highlight some fantastic employees who were very friendly and helpful. Elvis, the waiter and Karine, the wait were superb. Andrea at guest services and the gentleman who worked with her were excellent. Rui, the shuttle driver was outstanding and showed me a fantastic time around the island, to include the university and the national stadium. Soraya at the front desk was very good too. The entire staff were really great. The breakfast was really staff and the staff at breakfast were so friendly. The maintenance staff was good too. It was a great experience to stay here.

This is an outstanding hotel. The staff are amazing. Kind, knowledgable, and helpful. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and the views can’t be beat. I rarely sleep well my first few nights while traveling. This wasn’t an issue here. The breakfast there is one of the best I have had. The custom omelets are amazing. I travel about 50% of my time for work. The Barcelo Praia is definitely in my top 5 hotels to stay at and I look forward to visiting again. I rarely leave reviews unless a place makes a great impression.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. The rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The location is amazing and the staff were spectacular. Look forward to returning.

Overhaul we have enjoyed an excellent but brief stay here. I could find only one point that I did not like, and that was that the seaside window in the room could not be opened.
