Villa Rafia

+ Small guesthouse in a tropical garden 5 minutes walk from Anse Volbert Beach, some restaurants and supermarkets. + Free parking place for guests only. + Accomodation with breakfast. + Shared lounge and breakfast area. + You can have 5-course dinner (400 SCR/p.p.), but you must order and pay in advance in the morning. We did not try it. + Nice staff and the owner. + You can pay cash or credit card. + Wifi is available for free in the shared lounge, but it’s not very stable (it’s problem in a whole island). + Villa and the room is clean daily. - No pool. - Breakfast is very simple and the same every day – a fruit plate, juice, toast, butter, tea or coffee and you can choose from boiled eggs, scrambled eggs or an omelette. - No drinking water (in a bottle) in the room or in the guesthouse. You have to buy water in the supermarket. - No shampoo or shower gel in the bathroom. - Not all rooms have private veranda or terrace, for example room number 3 (standard room). You don’t have the option to sit outside, except the shared lounge. - You have outdoor grill in the garden. But no plates or cutlery in the room, if you decide to use the grill spontaneously. Probably, you have to reserve equipment in advance (we did not try it). - You can’t buy any drinks, neither coke nor water at Villa Rafia. - Room 3 (standard room) was very basic and outdated. The bathroom definitely needs renovation. There is fan, aircondition and small refrigerator in the bathroom.  Many non-functional little things: in a double room for two people only one glass for water, no glasses for wine or beer in a whole guesthouse, the main building with information leaflets and a number of the owner if needed, it’s locked from the afternoon, no trash can outside. Unfortunately, we give 3 stars for a very basic and outdated room, the bathroom was clean, but definitely needs renovation. The price did not include drinking water, shampoo or shower gel, which is standard even in apartment and bed and brekfast. There is also no possibility to buy at least non alcoholic drinks. For the price of 95 Eur/night for standard room, that we paid, Villa Rafia should really provide a better standard.

Comme à la maison Un accueil chaleureux de la part de la propriétaire des lieux Dana, elle prend le temps de vous donnez toute les informations nécessaires pour passer un bons et beaux séjours à Praslin. La guesthouse est trop belle entourée d’une belle végétation, la salle de séjour et de petit déjeuner est décorée avec soin, dans les couleurs locales, il y a un bar payant si besoin de se près lacer avec un bouquin. Un arrêt de bus est juste devant le guest house ainsi qu’un chemin traversant l’hôtel à côté pour rejoindre facilement la plage. Le petit déjeuner est complet et succulent. Merci Dana pour ta gentillesse et ta bienveillance envers tes clients .

Nous avons passé 9 nuits dans ce charmant petit hôtel très familial Villa Rafia. Nous avions l’appartement Garden 3 qui était parfait ! Villa Rafia est très bien située sur l’île, juste à côté de la grande plage de sable blanc Côte-d’Or et non loin de petits commerces bien pratiques pour quelques courses. L’arrêt de bus est à deux pas, juste devant l’entrée de Villa Rafia. À 5 minutes à pied, il y a un nouveau Takeaway qui a ouvert récemment et qui est vraiment très très bon. Par dessus tout, durant notre séjour, nous avons été touchés par la gentillesse des personnes qui travaillent ici. Il y a Derna, la responsable qui se démène du matin au soir pour que tout soit parfait. Il y a son fils et sa belle-fille Justin et Virginie qui eux aussi coopèrent afin que tout soit au top. Et bien sûr, nous ne pouvons pas oublier Babul, qui est devenu notre ami. C’est un homme exceptionnel, qui a toujours le sourire et qui est toujours prêt à tout faire pour bien vous servir. Nous avons même été adoptés par un petit oiseau, un Foudi rouge, qui venait nous voir sur notre balcon pour picorer quelques miettes au creux de notre main. Nous l’avons surnommé Sunset car il l’avait les magnifiques couleurs d’un coucher de soleil. C’est le cœur lourd que nous l’avons laissé, mais certains que cette famille et Babul en prendraient soin après notre départ et également tous les futurs occupants de l’appartement Garden 3 ! C’est sûr, si nous revenons sur Praslin, c’est à Villa Rafia que nous poserons nos valises ! Un grand merci à Derna, Virginie et notre cher Babul, pour ce beau séjour que nous avons passé ! We spent 9 nights in this charming little family hotel Villa Rafia. We had the Garden 3 apartment which was perfect! Villa Rafia is very well located on the island, right next to the large white sand Côte-d'Or beach and not far from small shops that are very practical for some shopping. The bus stop is just a stone's throw away, right in front of the entrance to Villa Rafia. A 5-minute walk away, there is a new Takeaway that opened recently and is really, really good. Above all, during our stay, we were touched by the kindness of the people who work here. There is Derna, the manager who works from morning to evening to make sure everything is perfect. There is his son and his daughter-in-law Justin and Virginie who also cooperate so that everything is at the top. And of course, we cannot forget Babul, who became our friend. He is an exceptional man, who always has a smile and is always ready to do everything to serve you well. We were even adopted by a little bird, a red Foudi, who came to see us on our balcony to peck a few crumbs from the palm of our hand. We nicknamed it Sunset because it had the magnificent colors of a sunset. It is with a heavy heart that we left it, but certain that this family and Babul would take care of it after our departure and also all the future occupants of the Garden 3 apartment! Un accueil au top par Justin et Angélique et qui restent aux petits soins pour leurs clients tout au long du séjour; Pas de savon dans la salle de bain et pas une bouteille d'eau dans le réfrigérateur. Avec ces quelques axes d'amélioration je conseillerai sans conteste ce lieu

Отличная локация, стандартный завтрак, отличная хост Дерна, но есть одно но! В апартаментах нет сейфа и украли деньги во время уборки. На ресепшене пожали плечами и сказали, что быть такого не может. Но факт остаётся фактом, остался неприятный осадок. Great location, standard breakfast, great host Derna, but there is one problem! The apartment does not have a safe and money has been stolen during cleaning. At the reception they said that this could not happen. But the fact remains, there was an unpleasant aftertaste.

Nous y avons séjourné 2 semaines( très inhabituel pour des vacanciers, se sont en général des courts séjours dans les hôtels de Praslin.) les logements sont spacieux et très calme. Magnifique jardin luxuriant et coloré. Petit déjeuner copieux préparé par Derna, qui nous a chouchoutée pendant 15 jours.
