The facility was relatively rundown and messy. The flower pots were all empty, and the front porch dirty. The back of the building had trash and left over equipment lying about. We arrived to find a small room, accessed by difficult to navigate stairs with luggage and no offer to assist with our arrival. The room was very poorly arranged with a large futon that took up about a third of the room and did not match the decor. It was not functional. The shower was added on and overly large with no safety features. There were no shelves to accommodate toiletries. The lighting for the sink and commode's separate room was inadequate. The breakfast was cold "pastries" a few yogurt jars and slightly warm coffee. The bed was comfortable. The staff was relatively cold and pre-occupied. The bar-tender was friendly. Would not recommend this to any colleague or friend.

The gist of the recent reviews is right: Peacock Inn is adequate, nothing more. And certainly no value! It benefits from its location (fantastic!) and lack of competition. There are barely any alternatives in the walking-distance-from-town-and-campus category. We had a small room, no sitting area, not updated, mediocre continental breakfast. On the plus side, staff are nice and helpful and the parking is free. So entirely adequate, but you're easily north of 300$ for a small room.

My son had his small wedding at The Peacock Inn this past Sunday. It was an intimate luncheon for approximately 40 guests. From the moment we arrived, The Peacock Inn was attentive to our needs. The grounds outside were beautifully planted with flowers and assorted greenery. The dining area was so lovely with soft music playing in the background. The tented area, in the outside back of the inn, looked so beautiful and perfect for the walk down the aisle. After the service, the cocktail area, on the side of the premises was set with bistro style tables. The food was delicious and plentiful and the quartet on the porch, was such a lovely touch. Julie, our "go to" was absolutely fabulous, as was her staff. 10 stars. I would highly recommend The Peacock Inn as a venue for a small gathering or lunch/dinner.

Our favorite Tea place Teaberry's is closed until the Spring due to renovations. This gave me a chance to check other tea places. On my list was the Peacock Inn. Service was great but the sandwiches (dry bread), pastries (just a bit too sweet) were not worth the price. The tea was fine. We had a nice table, however we could hear the kitchen staff talking and at one point I heard someone hacking away. We for sure won't be back.

The location is great---the price is ridiculous for a tiny room with stained carpets, no room for toiletries or convenient plugs for electronics. At 7:30am Saturday morning the shower in the room next door sounded like a jet aircraft taking off---the Manger feigned ignorance and suggested that maintenance would look into it.

Very nice and small boutique hotel. Great breakfast too. A short walk from Princeton center, but much better than Nassau Inn which seems to have monopoly in Princeton. Only issue with the Peacock was the noise from the ventilation one floor down. Continued until 10 or 11 pm. Not optimal .

Have had a lovely, very comfortable, charming experience staying here for a week. The staff is gracious, willing to meet any need and care. The bed is very comfortable and the breakfast spread is perfect - great baked goods, frittatas and delicious coffee. Cameron, who tends to it in the mornings is a gem and leaves a genuine, caring impression. Will not hesitate to return.

A friend and I had just spent a lovely afternoon at the Morven Museum, the staff there suggested we try the Peacock Inn for lunch since it had ties to Morven. Curious to learn more about it we went. We valeted the car and saw many umbrella tables on the front lawn full of guests that looked like were enjoying a high tea. As we walked up the charming porch, we noticed tables and decided we would sit there. As we entered the inn, we were met with a glare from what we assumed was the front desk manager. I asked if we needed a reservation. He flatly and rudely stated that brunch ended at 2pm. We asked if they were serving lunch. He said in a completely bothered tone in a very pretentious manner that maybe, maybe they could do something like small bites, purveying in his voice that it would be a major inconvenience. We said that was fine and very much appreciated and we would be on the porch. A few minutes later a waiter appeared with a set printed afternoon menu served from 2-5. So, they did offer a set menu, there was no maybe, and we were discounted from the start. There was nothing said about their dining hours, no explanation, no apologies. We decided to leave as we felt unwelcome and looked at as a nuisance. I suggest that this manager be held accountable and relearn how to treat potential guests!
