Louis Althea Beach

One of the best hotels we stayed in. It started with very good communication with hotel staff before our trip. The day of our arrival we were informed about upgrade to 3 bedroom villa with private pool. Great hospitality of reception staff and Mustafa that helped us a lot during first day of our stay. The villa is very clean (cleaning staff and gardners take care about tgat each day), well equipped, with nice sea view from balcony. The hotel is very close to shopping center and to promenade where I could run even 10km each morning. Food is great, tasty and diversified. There is good selections of drinks/alcohols/juices in all inclusive. Snacks and fruits avalable all time at main swimming pool. The public beach is connected with the hotel, with nice sand close to the shore and nice and safe reef farther from the shore. Hotel animation for kids and adults are all day long. A bit too crowdy in late June. We had private parking in villa, but hotel has small parking near the entrance, but also a lot of space along the street if needed.

The first night we slept without air conditioning, as the weather was not that hot. The second night, it was hot, and we wanted to start the air conditioning in the bedroom, but it blew hot air out. We assume it is just starting up, but it keeps blowing hot air out into the room. Opening the window won't help, because it is hot outside. We sleep badly, but at about 4:00 AM, it suddenly starts up by itself. I try to explain our problem to the staff, and they promise to look at the air conditioning. When they start it up, the same thing happens as it did for me: it blows hot air out into the room. I show them that the 2 other air conditioning units in the apartment are working and blowing cold air and pressure them to fix it in our bedroom. They explain it is me who doesn't understand how to use the air conditioning, and that it works as it should. They work with it for about half an hour, and it starts to work properly and cools the room as it should. But when we want to turn it on, it has become even worse, and if we turn the fan on full blast to be in the room, it is noisy. As a result, I wake up with a severe headache, and my wife can sleep because of the heat. In the morning, I was not in the best mood, and went to the reception immediately and complained about the lack of air conditioning. They send someone up to look at it, and he explains to me that it works flawlessly. I demanded to have it repaired, because I did not want to go through another night of poor sleep. Then he calls a superior, and he also tries to explain/convince me that it is I who is wrong. Then I show him the other two air conditioners working properly to prove that it is not me who is wrong with it. He says to me: If I am going to repair it, I have to go up to the roof, do you really want me to do that, to which I reply that as long as my air conditioning works in my room, so that I can start my holiday and sleep well, then I am satisfied. He left the room and did something on the roof, and it started working. I didn't dare turn off the air conditioning, but it has a timer, so it turned off itself in the evening. When I then started it up in the evening, it started blowing hot air into the room again. Then I went to the reception, and I think it was the hotel manager that I spoke to. He followed me up to the apartment and confirmed that it was true that hot air was coming from the air conditioning. He spoke on the phone for about 1/2 hour with a professional installer who promised to come and fix it the next day. He offered me 2 options, either we could get another room to sleep in without our children (who would then have to sleep alone), which we of course refused. The other option was a fan that could blow cold air from one of the other rooms, which we agreed to try, and it helped a little. I told him that they should give us an apology because our holiday was ruined during the first few nights, and I should pressure them to do something about the problem. He said yes

Myself, 8 year old son and mum went for 10 days at the start of June. we arrived just before midnight and Muhammmed who greeted us at reception was fantastic. helped us with our luggage to our room. since it was a late arrival there was a sandwich each, pieces of fruit and some lovely cold bottled water in the fridge. was still very warm even at midnight. My son turned 8 the day after we arrived and when we returned from breakfast there was a lovely birthday cake for him left in our room. Needless to say this wasnt expected so was a lovely extra and he was made up. little things like this mean the world to children and the parents. mum and myself had a lovely relaxed holiday, room was was spotless every day and couldn't do enough for you if you asked. food was amazing and a great choice. the wee man tried all sorts of different things. now to the entertainment team. Ethan took to the team almost instantly which is unusual for him as he has a speech problem which makes his communication to new people difficult as he can be quite difficult to understand at the start but they were fantastic. he also has ADHD so constantly on the move and wanting to help be involved. Greta, Holly, Nas and Ellie were absolutely fantastic with him and kept him engaged which in itself is a hard task. Dylan - think he definitely has another hobby after watching your fire and LED show he is practising with his LEDs that managed to become a late birthday present - not to much tho. Kostas - You made his night letting him help you tidy up after you fantastic entertainment at night. not seen him so happy in a long time. he really connected with you and that is rare for him in such a short space of time. entertainment throughout the day is amazing and night time so much much work goes into it you all should be super proud of what you do every night. We had an amazing time here, we had a one bedroom apartment which was lovely, more than enough space for us. The grounds are lovely and well maintained. It’s a small hotel which we prefer and the layout makes it easy to get around. My daughter loved the kids club and all the activities provided. We joined in with the adult bowls and killer darts (I was the best loser!!!) The beach area is nice and lovely clear water for a swim. The animation team, Greta, Dylan, Ellie, Holly, Nas and Costas were all amazing and really made you feel welcome. The evening entertainment they put on was very good and enjoyed by all of us. Loads of great memories made, we would definitely return.

My wife, 2 year old son and myself visited in May along with my mam and dad who booked a separate room. We stayed for 11 nights, arriving late on the first night to find the staff had left us some snacks in our fridge since we had missed the evening meal times. A nice touch. The rooms were big enough and cleaned to a good standard. Comfortable with air conditioning. Maybe my only feedback would be the double bed, which was in fact 2 si gle beds pushed together, leaving an uncomfortable gap in the middle. Not big enough a problem to stop me coming back though, just a minor inconvenience. The location itself is ideal, right on the beach, close to Pernera shops, bars and restaurants which is a nice quiet area very suitable for families and it also sits right on the beach offering crystal clear waters and the most perfect, first sunrise of Europe. We stayed all inclusive and the food was varied with a good mix and something for everyone and daily changes to keep it interesting. The drinks available were more than enough. The staff. From the reception, to the bar and restaurant staff and the cleaning staff were always friendly, chatty and full of smiles. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we're fast to help any issues anyone might have had. The entertainment team provided a good mix of activities, shows and games throughout the day and into the evening with the nighttime entertainment performed spectacularly. (Don't miss Dylan's fire dance). They obviously are a team with good chemistry who not only can work together, but highly enjoy working with each other. They always made effort to speak to us and other visitors and seemed genuinely interest in the people they spoke to. Overall, a great holiday at a lovely hotel with nothing but kind, friendly smiles from everyone representing the hotel and Cyprus. Highly recommend. Thank you. Anth, Emma and Max.

We have just returned from Cyprus and stayed at Althea. This was the best family holiday we have been on. The hotel was so lovely the rooms were really spacious and very clean and loads of wardrobe space and was a Great set up for the kids. The food was great and the snacks for the kids were perfect and plenty of option. The best part of the hotel was the entertainment I have to say it was outstanding. They worked so hard providing day time and night time entertainment getting everyone involved and always had a smile on their faces. The standard of the shows were outstanding and extremely professional. Kids clubs was also amazing with different themes every day the kids loved it. The manger of the entertainment team has done an amazing job to make sure everything is covered and the activities and entertainment were really well planned. When we were there it was extremely windy and in the past things have been cancelled in other places but the manger made sure things were still running but adjusted so the shows could still go ahead safely. One of the entertainment members Ellie really made my daughters holiday, my daughter really liked her and Ellie really gave her a lot of time and really made her holiday special and helped create great memories. we go to different hotels in cyprus every time but we will now return to Althea in October because of the entertainment staff they really made our holiday.
