Le Lappe

I recently spent two weeks at this charming villa in Cavriglia, Tuscany as part of a large group celebrating a friends 75th birthday.  The main villa was built in the 13th century and is the quintessential Tuscan villa perched high on a hill with sweeping views from almost every window. The rooms are spacious and well appointed, most baths have jacuzzis and rain head showers with endless hot water. The lbeautiful infinity pool was a welcome respite during the hot days! We found the food exceptional. Breakfast was served buffet style with a wide assortment including yogurt, fresh fruits, cereals, and pastry's in addition to eggs, either scrambled our cooked to your liking. Lunches were seated and varied but always included a perfect freshly made pasta course. The dinners were indescribably delicious and consisted of four courses! Two weeks and no menu item was repeated even once. Lastly, but first in my mind was the wonderfully gracious and always helpful staff led by the House Manager (Principessa del Le Lappe), Valentina!. Her staff, Paolo, Franco, Alessio and Sampath could not have been more helpful. Special thank you to Leesa and Sara for their kitchen magic and to Alketa for keeping our rooms and our clothing spotless. We may have arrived as strangers but we left as friends!

Lovely venue, but the abysmal WiFi and average (at best) kitchen make this a hard “no” for a repeat visit. It was nonstop frustration for most of us trying to get connected for work and checking on kids, to the point that most attempts failed, and if more than one of us (out of 20) were on, it failed entirely. That, despite the fact that the hotel’s private network worked just fine (I was able to test it)…they just refuse to allow the guest WiFi network the bandwidth to function. Meals were pedestrian at best, with a few dishes being almost inedible. The chicory risotto, for example, was awful at dinner, and they then recycled it into fried risotto balls for lunch the next day…not an improvement. Most dishes were either over- or under-seasoned, and there just seemed to be no passion in the kitchen. There’s just too much phenomenal Tuscan food to waste a meal dining here. Look elsewhere.

Se state cercando un posto in cui rilassarvi e allontanarvi dalla quotidianità, questo è il posto giusto! Struttura incantevole, si respira aria pulita, ci si sente in sintonia con la natura. Le camere sono ben arredate, fornite di vasca idromassaggio, tuttavia la nostra camera era poco luminosa e nel bagno ogni tanto si sentiva un odore cattivo. La zona piscina è molto rilassante e tranquilla. Il ristorante non offre moltissima scelta ed ogni fuori programma manda nel panico la cucina e i camerieri, tuttavia il personale è estremamente gentile e fa di tutto per accontentare le esigenze degli ospiti. Unica nota negativa, avevamo prenotato un escursione a cavallo, purtroppo non siamo riusciti ad andare e ci hanno comunque addebitato il costo non avendo cancellato 24h prima, peccato che nessuno ci avesse avvisato della penalità!!! Al checkout abbiamo fatto presente questa cosa e per il disguido ci hanno regalato due bottiglie di champagne.

Non saprei dire se siamo rimasti più impressionati dalla bellezza della natura circostante, dalla eleganza e charme della camera , dall’eccellente livello della cucina o dalla simpatia e gentilezza dei proprietari. Davvero un insieme unico e difficilmente ritrovabile in altre realtà anche nella stessa regione. Ci torneremo sicuramente magari in autunno … quel camino da accendere in camera o la stufa nel giardino d’inverno!

Esperienza unica, posto incantevole......ho regalato una notte in questo relais al mio compagno e ne sono rimastq estasiata.... Location immersa nel verde tra le colline del chianti , struttura molto elegante e ben curata, personale gentilissimo e disponibile, giardino d'inverno dove si cena meraviglioso, illuminato da candele con un atmosfera super romantica .... Cena e vino top... Il menu' e' fisso e comprende 4 portate tutte buonissime ed abbondanti ... Must della struttura, le camere, dotate di Jacuzzi e camino ....insomma, il vero week and romantico!!!! Ci ritorneremo sicuramente! Se volete stupire con un regalo che lascia veramente a bocca aperta chi lo riceve..... Questa e' senza dubbio la location giusta!

Salve, abbiamo trascorso 4gg FANTASTICI in un posto lontano dal mondo, immerso nella natura, coccolati e con dei comfort per noi inusuali; pulizia, ordine, cura dei particolari tutto condito da un personale sempre presente, disponibile educato e molto preparato. Camera con vasca idromassaggio e camino ai piedi del letto sono il fiore all'occhiello ma senza dimenticare una sala da pranzo unica, ricca di calore e silenzio che ci ha avvolti così come "la cucina" sin dal primo giorno. Quindi un Grande Grazie a tutti.
