Grande Baia Resort & Spa

We visited here for 4 nights I'd thoroughly recommend a car hire it's miles from anywhere, Food was mediocre and drinks expensive, you have to pay on a hotel card and get a bill at the end of your stay, not appealing to me I like to pay as I go, the shop sold nothing, and no entertainment. You queue for dinner which is a no no for me felt like I was at a food bank although Sardinia is beautiful I'd recommend a stay in a city or large village. We had no towel or sheet change in 4 days.

Positives .. quiet .. peaceful and I like how all the rooms are on one level .. Negatives Bathrooms need to have a freshen up and the food in the soffi restaurant was not very nice ..

Don’t be put off by the other reviews-this place has everything you need! The beach is the best we found in Sardinia, the pool is large and clean and the loungers and umbrellas are plentiful at both. Our apartment was clean and a decent size, comfortable large beds as well, and my low expectations were surpassed. Sure, it’s not brand new and you could pay more for luxurious accomodation if that is what you want, but we found it excellent value for money and it had everything we needed for our large family group with teens. I spent a beautiful afternoon at the very reasonably priced spa-great treatments and the facilities were luxurious. We dined at the ala carte restaurant and it was fine-not the best food we had in Sardinia but pretty good, and well priced.

Very relaxed resort, It's very clean and the facilities are very good. The people (I don't like to use the phrase staff) were all fantastic! They couldn't do enough to accommodate our needs with two very young daughters. Please ask them if you need anything and they will do their best to oblige. It is a little remote. A car, transfer, or taxi will be required if you want to step away from the resort. There are so many nice beaches in the vicinity. We went to La Cinta, busy but great for little ones as very shallow and warm. All in all, I'd highly recommend this resort and will be back again. Grazie mille a tutti!

Not very informative reception the info point I don’t think is applying g to us foreigners as we did t get any advise where to go how to book we just had a info paper which was taking you back to the hotel. When I asked what do you recommend I just been answered well we are not organising any trips from the hotel ??! Ok at least you could say we can rent you a car and you can go there and there not just nothing g what can I say very poor costumer service that lady from info I can see what her jobs is just to take payment for shuttle buses ? Reception could do that isn’t it? Another poor costumer service by the bar the young brunette lady she was serving the Italian lady before us even we we were there first waiting to order when I pointed that she did t even say sorry like she didn’t care ! Let’s say a good point for this location is the beautiful beaches around the place and the food was good apart from just e evening when you couldn’t have to many choices. I would say it’s a nice play to relax and stay inside the resort but not more than that!

Very isolated location, you will need a car to avoid taxi costs, no bus stops within walking distance.Hotel is around 20 mins drive to San Teodoro centre. Last shuttle bus from San Teodoro is 6.15 pm so restricts your evening. Taxis back are extremely costly especially after 9pm. No pleasant welcome when we arrived. Our first room had a musty smell so we asked to change which reception were not keen to do. Our 2nd room was spacious, plenty of storage and clean. Safety deposit box was so high, my husband who is 5'9 still needed a chair to access it. Mini bar was empty, just had 2 bottles of water. AC never worked so it was uncomfortable during the night. No tea making facilities in the room. TV had no English channels. As it was coming to end of season there was limited entertainment but it felt like the staff had come to end of season as well, customer service was very disappointing. Well done Alex the evening entertainer who worked so hard to keep us entertained. Bar/reception staff very rude and not at all friendly. Breakfast was good & staff there were pleasant. Hotel beach was nice, 10 mins walk away but a shuttle bus was available. However, there was only one portable cafe selling drinks. No proper toilet/changing facilities, just a portaloo. We were B&B so cannot comment on the evening buffet. A la carte was nice but they do not change their menu throughout the week. Personally, I would not rate this as a 4 star, it's not value for money and we definitely will not return.
