Hotel San Teodoro

We had a brilliant break away at Hotel San Teodoro. Beautiful location surrounded by mountains, very peaceful. The staff at the hotel were lovely and friendly, especially Rosella who was very accommodating throughout our stay. Room was clean and had everything we needed. The pool is gorgeous and has everything you need, would recommend their poolside cocktails! Food at the restaurant was delicious and the transfers to the beach and into the town centre were exceptional, meant that you can explore the local area with ease. Would definitely visit again! Just on the plane and would like to say a massive thank you to hotel Sam Teodoro , & jet 2 , the staff have been absolutely amazing from when we arrived at the hotel very welcoming and friendly, always willing to help when we were unsure of things , the food was great only thing I would say is maybe a little bit more options for kids , ( I have fussy kids ) , rooms were always super clean & tidy , Dominique helped book us a boat tour which really helped us out as I would suggest hiring a car to see places as we were a bit stranded as was 7, but the shuttle service that was there was spot on always ready when we asked , pool was lovely not to busy & even better with happy hour few times a week with free bbq , breakfasts was always on point to be fair , & huge shout to the main man Angelo lifeguard at the pool he was superb top G , so yeah all in all staff amazing / food good / hotel great definitely stop again just leave the kids and in-laws at home next time

Overall we would rate this an average hotel. We enjoyed our stay but for the price I think there are so many small improvements that would have made it a much better experience. The place was very nice looking - pool area was lovely and the bars and restaurant area was nice . Breakfast was very good, great selection and it was nice to be able to sit outside. Most of the staff were friendly. The blonde lady on reception was lovely. But some of them seemed like they didn’t want to be there and we didn’t always feel very welcome. We didn’t eat dinner in the hotel but it did look very nice and in a nice courtyard area. The bar was nice in the evenings and it’s nice that they put snacks out. Pool bar was good but it seems a bit strange that it’s closed between 12.30-3.30pm everyday - we understand staff need breaks but that’s the key time where people would like food and drink. We had to bring our own snacks out, which was fine but seems like a wasted opportunity for the hotel to make more money and create a better guest experience. The biggest let down of the hotel and the reason for my slightly lower rating was the beds. They were so hard. Neither of us slept very well so spent a lot of the holiday feeling tired and other guests we met along the way all said the same thing. It’s also a shame the hotel doesn’t offer tea/coffee facilities in room, as a morning coffee on the balcony would have been a nice touch. The bathrooms were very nice and the shower was good. And the housekeeping team did an excellent job. Our room was always very clean and well stocked each day. Another area of improvement is the shuttle bus service. We knew that the hotel was a little out of the town, but did not realise there would be no taxis available at all. Therefore we were relying on a shuttle bus where the staff seemed to be making it up as they went along. There was a timetable, but only 6 seats available per hour, and we had multiple occasions where the shuttle didn’t turn up for our booked time slot or the driver was late. If we were to return we would absolutely rent a car from the airport and this was our mistake. The hotel does offer car rental but we were told by reception staff there was an €800 deposit and you don’t get it back for 2 weeks, which is crazy, so we didn’t bother. The last point of mention was the gym. Very strange layout, no mats and it’s literally right outside someone’s room, so we felt awkward making any noise.

Still here.. 5 days in. Can't compliment the staff highly enough. From the extremely helpful reception staff to the fantastic friendly waitresses they never stopped smiling. Pool area excellent, pool attendant/barman Angelo superb again always chatty and smiling. Food - breakfast, well what a variety on offer, did not expect Scrambled eggs and bacon but very tasty if somewhat cold if you did not time it right to eat. But to be expected with the buffet style. Overall pleasantly surprised how good the breakfast was. In house H2o restaurant amazing standard, hats off to the chef. 9 days left if everything stays the same, which I think it will, brilliant hotel I would recommend it to one and all.

Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and efficient. Nice food. Pleasant pool area. Made good use of the shuttle bus which we thought was good value and very reliable. Just beware you cannot walk out from the hotel. The road has no footpath and is very busy.

Having read the reviews I was really looking forward to our stay. I will point out that we didn't have good weather for our weeks stay. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The rooms, we had a superior !! It was very basic but clean . The beds and pillows were the worst I've ever experienced. Stupidly I didn't say anything and was told at checkout that I could have had a mattress topper. Also in our room we could always here the people above when they were in the toilet. Location wise, this hotel was lovely and quiet but you couldn't walk anywhere. The shuttle bus was good and very reliable but as you needed to book you were quite restricted. There is a charge for the bus 4.50 E in day and 6.50 Euro return in the evening.
