We stayed at this hotel for two nights in late July/early August. Our base-level room was large, clean and well-appointed, which was of course good. The hotel location was convenient to get to all places where we needed to be. Wifi worked well and all interactions with staff were pleasant. We also booked a private transfer to Mexico City airport through the concierge, which went on smoothly and offered good value for money. However, the hotel had a number of stingy, cheap and hostile attitudes towards guests that really rubbed us the wrong way. For example: since we prepaid for our stay, we were not allowed to use the minibar (hotel staff even went to the room to lock it after we checked-in!). What is the connection between these things? I’ve never seen anything like that. Espresso capsules were also removed from the room after we checked in- and mind you, if they hadn’t been taken away from us, there would have been a MXN30 charge for each capsule. What a rip-off - even budget hotels have free coffee these days. And this is one of the most expensive hotels in Puebla. Adding insult to injury, nobody bothered to tell us beforehand that someone would go there to lock the minibar and remove the coffee capsules. To say we were surprised by these petty attitudes is an understatement. Breakfast was also very expensive (~USD25 per person) for what it offered. Another annoying thing: it was impossible to charge room-service and restaurant purchases to our room. We had to settle everything on the spot, which clearly shows management distrusts guests. We didn't feel welcome and won't come back.
