Hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote - All Inclusive

Myself Husband and Son have just got back from an amazing 7 day Holiday here in RIU Paraiso Lanzarote. The hotel was lovely, spotlessly clean everywhere. As a non smoker I loved the fact that guest have a designated area they can sit and smoke in whilst sunbathing around the pool, so the area is kept clean of all cigarette butts. The hotel always had enough sun-beds and parasols for everyone. If there wasn’t and people who arrived through the day couldn’t find one they went and fetched more. The Hotel is VERY big as it originally was 2 separate hotels now combined into one. The hotel is joined by a LARGE LONG walk way so be prepared on arrival If your in the 2nd section of the hotel - this felt like a mammoth walk. Then later you can see the short cut for everyday walk to the main area. We were in the 2nd part of the hotel with the large pool with the island in the middle, this we found suited us better as the other 2 pools in the main section on the hotel looked crammed! Loved the fact the hotel accommodates for the disabled and has a slope into the pool where I observed a wheelchair user being able to access this in the chair and then the chair was taken out till needed again. Well done to the hotel, pluses lifeguard was happy to assist if needed. Only negative thing, that I would say about the pool is the half section of the pool where ball games are allowed is a pain as balls are flying everywhere. Two older french lads were being really rough playing and hitting the ball into people and their parents were not saying anything!!, at the time the lifeguard (of this day) was to busy talking to his friend to observe this! (Needs to be more aware of what’s going on) lots of people were getting angry with the boys as had enough by then! Apart from that the pool area is amazing! Pool snack and bar was great, nachos with cheese, burgers chicken Prosecco, wine cocktails, larger on tap. On arrival on your stay you get a card that you get the towels for your sun-bed by the pool. Rooms was lovely, fresh towels when needed, large balcony’s with a table and chairs for evening. Could do with the light for the balcony as there isn’t one and your unable to sit out when dark so suggestion to the hotel perhaps to install them. Had a rack to air your towels and dry them. Main restaurant- amazing food caters for all. Loved the fresh prawns, assortment of cheeses and hams can not fault this at all. We dined in the Asian restaurant and the Canary one both were lovely, a little slow in the canary one and we found staff werent as friendly as the Asian one and had to ask for some drinks in the end as waiter was too busy focusing on another table to much, but was lovely atmosphere and more relaxing that main restaurant. Entertainment was Ok to be honest we never really went in there only a couple of times we were quite happy sat playing cars in the bar area or we went out for a walk. Fantastic all inclusive hotel. Stayed here as a family with teenage children. Location is excellent walking distance to town centre (15 mins) and directly across the road to a lovely clean quiet beach. Accommodation is top class beds and pillows very comfortable. Hotel is absolutely spotless with very friendly cleaning staff always visible maintaining the hotel. Great selection of food and drink available throughout the day. Main Buffet restaurant has a great selection of cooked meals and cold salads. We went to the Asian restaurant twice which is also buffet style but must be booked in advance. Loved to food here and would have liked to have eaten there again. Plenty of drink choices with wine and beer on tap, spirits with mixers available at bar, also cava cocktails and mocktails. One small suggestion would be to have a cider option and also make little more effort in presentation of cocktails eg cocktails glasses etc - in the age of social media presentation of drinks would probably help promote the hotel. We booked the tennis courts a number of times the teenagers really enjoyed that. Rackets and tennis balls provided at reception with a refundable deposit. Table tennis also an option. Would love to return and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Things to be aware of: Kids CAN NOT USE air beds or floats in any pools. Mad considering 3 pools & 2 pools empty most day. There is NO ice cream available unless you go to main restaurant. NOT child friendly unlike other RIU we been to around the world

Lovely hotel,Food was fantastic always something for every taste, rooms cleaned everyday,free water everyday,tea and coffee with kettle in our room,safe was included the room we stayed in was very quiet 254,always sun beds at pools was given a card to change pool towels everyday Pepes snacks at poolside,drinks available all day and night,will definitely be back loved our stay.

Very clean. Lots of sunbeds. Great location for beach and the town. Good daytime activities for everyone. Food: 3 buffets (main one, Asian & Canadian). Good food but the same every night. Evening entertainment: not the best. Duo sang English songs with a strong Spanish accent. Animation team were not the best showmen. Magician was excellent. Rooms: this is two hotels combined into one. One hotel has the reception, rooms, restaurants and bars. The other has rooms and the gym with the reception left as a deserted space so it was a strange feel to it. It’s also a long way between the pools. The rooms are clean but the layout is terrible. Overall a standard RUI hotel but not the best.

After a poor British summer we needed a bit of warmth and last minute sun. My partners a post man and was in need of a rest before the winter months kicked in.

The hotel was very nice, really nice helpful reception staff, and everyone was friendly and greeted you with a smile! The food was varied, plentiful and good quality! Plenty of sun beds, and nice location for walking into Puerto del Carmen or Arricife if you wanted some exercise.

Pleasant stay, but beware of mosquitoes We recently stayed at this hotel and while it has many positives, there are a few things future guests should be aware of. Starting with the good points: the hotel is well-maintained and the food was decent, offering a variety of choices to suit different tastes. However, there were a couple of downsides. The drinks selection was quite limited. They used to serve Aperol Spritz, but that’s no longer available. Instead, they offered cheaper alternatives, which were overly sweet and not quite up to standard. The major issue for us was the mosquito problem. Our room was infested, and despite our efforts to kill them, they kept reappearing. I ended up with 14 mosquito bites by the end of the stay. We noticed that the cleaning staff were equipped with mosquito and ant spray, suggesting that this is a known issue at the hotel. Overall, it’s a nice place, but the mosquito situation definitely impacted our experience.
