Hotel Riu Paraiso Lanzarote - All Inclusive

We booked the Riu for a one night extension and found the hotel, staff and facilities of an excellent standard! Will certainly look to book for a full vacation this summer ☺️

We have been to several All inclusive hotels before but RIU Paraiso was one of the best. There isn't much to complain really. We had booked a regular family room with a separate bedroom but eventually got upgraded to a 2-bedroom family room which was really spacious and quiet. Housekeeping worked really well and everything was spotlessly clean. The service was excellent everywhere. The hotel area is huge, so it was a long way for us to walk to the restaurants through the well-kept gardens but it was actually nice. We love cats and there really were LOTS of them at the hotel! The wifi was great and there were lots of free parking places. The location next to the huge beach was beautiful but a bit remote, so for us it was easiest to rent a car to tour around the island. We have always used the local car rental company Cabrera Medina which is great value for money. The variety, quality and taste of food and drink at the hotel was quite good. It was nice to have 3 restaurant options for dinner. We tried the Canarian and Asian theme restaurants (which were easy to book via RIU app), both were OK and more peaceful than the huge main restaurant. The orange juice at breakfast was quite basic but there were plenty of other freshly pressed juices available. And it would have been nice to have ice cream available at the pool bar during the day. The coctails at the bars were not particularly special, we have had tastier ones in other AI hotels. At the poolside the sunbeds were very close to each other (but at least there were plenty of them), no side tables for drinks, etc. But these are just minor things. All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel was very clean with beautiful grounds. It is set in between Matagorda and Puerto del Carmen in the Pocillos area opposite a vast beach. We stayed in room 1127 in the quiet side of the hotel. Our room was kept very clean and serviced every day with clean towels and bed linen changed on request. We were on the ground floor and very near to the quiet pool. We were very happy with the room. The food in the restaurant was very good and we also ate in the Yashima Asian restaurant which was also very good. The drinks quality could be improved with larger glasses for the beer and the white wine tasted better when served from a carafe in the Yashima restaurant, it is a shame that this was not available elsewhere. I ended up drinking the cava. The cocktails were served without a straw and it was difficult to drink through the ice. The pools were good but the quiet pool was very noisy even though the activities were in the main hotel pool. Plenty of sunbeds, always one to be had but there weren't any tables to put your drinks and things. Pepe's snack bar was the same every day and not as good as the main restaurant. But a nice place to sit and have a drink and a snack. The entertainment team worked very hard. We enjoyed their shows. The best act we saw in the bar area was Ginger and Spice, they were fabulous and got everyone up dancing. We went out most evenings after the entertainment had finished in the main entertainment room so we may have missed other good acts. The bar in reception is open 24 hours and there is a fridge with snacks and a toaster and microwave which is an excellent idea.The hotel is huge so be prepared for a lot of walking. We walked into Puerto del Carmen and up to Matagorda and over the week clocked up 30 miles including walking around the hotel. We would definitely return to this hotel in the future as it is an excellent quality RIU hotel.
