Relaxia Olivina

Just returned from a week away at the Oliviana. Firstly very clean. The majority of staff especially the reception and bar were friendly. We had a room outside the hotel which was clean and serviced daily the only issue was there was no aircon, we coped as there was a fan in the bedroom but the seating area was uncomfortable. We did ask about a fan but you have to pay for these or pay to move to a room with air conditioning. As only staying for a week and we had unpacked we remained in the room which would have been impossible in hotter months. There was a vast array of food at breakfast, lunch and evening meal, only downside was if you had a table at a distance the food was cold before you got to the table. All inclusive drinks were as expected but we all found something to drink. On tap wine, beer and soft drinks. The juice was very sweet more like squash. The hotel was in walking distance of the main strip for those that like to venture out. A taxi to the hotel would only be about 10 euros so do not bother with a transfer as we waited ages and were the last drop off.

Really nice hotel, a bit dated in places but the staff and food have been great. Last night's Fire Dream Show with Simone and Katy was amazing, way above a normal Animation Team's performance. The sunbeds aren't very comfortable and desperately need cushions, but there are plenty to go round - no need for 6am sunbed warriors thank goodness! Could also do with some toilets nearer the pool area, but otherwise we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would come back. Great location for airport, shops and beach.

A fabulous place to stay, the animation team are amazing. Have stayed a number of times and will be coming back again. The hotel is clean and the food is wonderful, plenty of choice at all meals. Always get a sunbed with no issues. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just back from our holiday in the Relaxia olivina, and I can highly recommend it. Very very clean(the cleaners must never stop) and every member of staff we met were very kind and helpful. After reading other reviews I can't understand why people complained about the food....the food here was excellent. I never had something to eat that was bad at any mealtime. Thanks to all the chefs and kitchen/restaurant staff, we all ate very well all week. The bar staff are very good, always up for a laugh, a special thanks to Ernesto at the pool bar, and Chedey and levi in the main bar are very hard working. Special thanks to Chedey for the laughs all week. A special thanks to the entertainment also...very hard working and friendly. Overall a great holiday and will definitely be back again. Thankyou to all the staff. Oh and not to forget about the little cats who we all loved. Especially the little black one who is always in reception sleeping.

Overall we had a good time at the Olivina but I do have mixed feelings about returning to this hotel; there are many other hotels in PDC that probably offer better value for money. If improvements are made, then I’d be more likely to return. Detail: Check in was efficient; the room wasn’t ready but given AI bands and sent for drinks and lunch until 1400. Reception staff were very helpful throughout our stay, we reported 3 issues and all were resolved instantly. We found reception here to be much more effective than other hotels we’ve been to recently. Room 1141: same level as reception, easy to get to. Room dated but acceptable. Exception being the carpet which is worn through in places. Dated furniture doesn’t bother me, not maintaining the room such that the carpet is threadbare is unacceptable. Lack of sockets near the bed. The AC in the main building was good. Shower takes a long time for hot water to come through (sometimes upwards of 10 minutes), meaning a lot of wasted water. Lighting in the room is not very good with a mix of old style bulbs and some energy saver types sparsely spread. Food was good but no real variation each day. You would always find something to eat, the food is cooked nice and tasty and it would always be hot (I never had a cold meal). I really enjoyed the pizzas! Meal times are good. A couple of things could be improved: 1. layout - nobody knows where to queue as the counters are so close and cramped; 2. replace broken crockery - every meal we had quite badly chipped bowls and plates - I expect better from what is supposed to be a 4 star… Bar needs much improvement: Long queues every night with 1 barman left to struggle with demand; occasionally a second would turn up and stay for maximum 10 minutes once per night. The person sent to help is often not trained with one of them not knowing what Peach Schnapps, Rum or Whisky was… The bar was supposed to be on until midnight (per the information leaflet they give you on checking in) and for 5 days it was, but for the last 5 days, they started closing earlier and earlier with no explanation given. Grounds well kept. Plenty of activities about the hotel (boules, tennis court, football court, pool table, air hockey table, etc.). Main pool area was nice but facilities were lacking with the only toilets being by reception. Not good for those with accessibility needs. Sun beds: no problem. Plenty to go around at all times of day. Evening Entertainment is mostly bought in and is a reasonable standard. The local animation team are very friendly and give their all. Entertainment ends around 2300.

Me and my partner both had our first couple holiday here, and it didn't disappoint. Whole hotel was nice and clean and the scenery around the houses that are further from the main building is so nice! Overall nothing to complain terribly about on my end. Totally recommend this if you're looking for a cosy place to stay! Pros : - location of the hotel was great with a SPAR nearby and many shops including a pharmacy just a 3 minute walk away - the main pool being heated was great - staff made entertainment often daily, mainly for the kids but daytime activities were great! - cleaning service came daily unless DND sign put up - Beach literally 3 minute walk away - drinks were nice - Beer and wine on tap - Close to airport - nice privacy in room itself - Vibe just overall was very warming. - Cats were allowed to roam non food areas like reception and main pool area (so cute!) Cons: - food was repeated a lot - big main dishes only when a lot of people are occupying at the hotel - drinks were ever so slightly watered down at times - room wasn't EXACTLY look like what we thought we were booking (not an issue tho)
