Ilunion Costa SAL Lanzarote

Lovely hotel with very friendly staff. OK it isn't 5 star luxury but it was clean with great facilities and ina great location for us. Central to Matagorda and about a 40 minute walk into the centre of Puerto del carmen but right outside a bus stop. Breakfast was delicious . We would defintely visit again.

The accommodation was tired at best, some would describe as dilapidated. Unsafe electrics with bare wires, deep internal cracks along the side of the living area that made us feel unsafe (a local told us that similar units in that area of the complex had to be demolished a few years ago), kitchen units with peeling veneer and doors / drawers that won’t close, sofas with worn and peeling pvc covering. The staff are the one plus on the complex, very friendly and helpful, but I expect that from someone employed in hospitality to be fair. As Roy Keane would say, that’s their job. We used to holiday here regularly 3 or 4 times a year, booking direct with the complex, but I doubt we will return again as they are falling behind by neglecting basic maintenance.

We went for the 6th time in about four years. We love the hotel for its quietness and restfulness its very helpful and friendly staff its superb buffet style breakfasts and dinners Our apartment was amazing with views to the sea, spacious, comfy and all we wished for. The hotel is big enough to provide all that you would expect of a hotel but not so big that you feel swamped by crowds. The selection of food at both morning and evening meals was amazing. The shop in the basement is a very welcome addition. On the downside: the WiFi only provided a non-secure service and I couldn't link up my wife's personal alarm. The UK TV channels were very limited. BBCNews was always there and so was SkyNews but other channels such as BBC1 seemed to only be available for limited parts of the day.

Wanting to stay in a self-catering apartment for a 4 week stay in Lanzarote, after much research and endless reading of reviews, we settled on Ilunion Costa Sal. I can honestly say we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Check-in was very smooth. Arriving after 3 p.m., the room was available for immediate use. The apartments are spread around the complex, so a map is given, which indicates where you are situated , and all information you need for your stay is included. Check out time's etc. We had booked a 1 bedroom apartment, and we were thrilled to have been allocated a ground floor one , with a garden and our own sunbeds! The room was very clean, and the kitchenette had the luxury of an oven, which proved very handy. Utensils are basic but adequate to cook a simple meal. The bed, although on the firm side , was comfortable. There was ample storage in a large wardrobe for clothing and plenty of coat hangers. There is aircon, but only in the living area, not the bedroom. Cleaning is done 2 days out of every 3, and all the staff are very friendly. Towel change is on request. There is a restaurant which is available, and from what I could see, they did have speciality nights, but we never dined in there, so I can't comment . The pool area by our apartment was lovely. However, for quite a few days , it was very windy, so it was quite vacant. You are given pool towels, which can be changed every 7 days. There is no deposit and no charge per change. This is a quiet establishment, to my knowledge, there is no entertainment which suited us perfectly. If you're after pool aerobics, then this wouldn't be for you, and a large proportion of the residents are elderly. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We had a couple of minor things to sort whilst there, and they always made sure everything was sorted to our approval. There was always a good morning from everyone. The location is excellent! You are not far from several supermarkets, and there is even an on-site shop that has freshly baked bread ready for 9.30am prompt.😁 Lots of bars and restaurants of a varied cuisine are well within walking distance, are a reasonable price, and good quality. If you like to walk, Puerto del Carmen is doable and is a very pleasant walk along the sea front. There is also a bus stop opposite and taxis are readily available. To conclude, we had a fabulous stay and hope to return in the future.

We stayed here for the week of Christmas 2024 and are very sad to be leaving, what a hidden gem! We had a first floor apartment facing the pool (main pool) which got the sun all day. The apartment was spotless and had everythinh we needed for a self catering holiday. We did not eat in the hotel but there was many options available and reception did note of offers on during the week of our stay. The complex was a stones throw from the beach and matagorda commercial centre to the left anf hyperdino and los pocillos to the right. We are already planning our next trip back!

Our first time staying at Costa Sal and it certainly won’t be the last! It was absolutely fantastic. The staff were wonderful, friendly and extremely hard working! We had an early flight so understandably our room wasn’t quite ready but they kindly went through the check in process with us and guided us to their luggage room and shower facilities etc which was perfect so we could get changed and go for a wander round Matagorda. We were called to advise when room was ready which was actually an hour before the actual advertised check in time which was a bonus! The apartment was so so so spacious with everything you could possibly need. We were right next to the smaller pool which our little girl adored. A very short walk to the commercial centre with bars & restaurants and the beach. I genuinely have zero faults whatsoever with this hotel it was wonderful. We cannot wait to book again and come back!
