We stayed here from New Years eve for 6 nights. Myself, my wife and 2 teenage daughters. I had read good reviews and I was apprehensive around some of the feedback but what we got was perfect. From the moment walking in to the hotel we got a friendly welcome and a good vibe and was like that for the rest of the week, all the staff were so welcoming. We stayed in a 2 room bungalow directly in front of the lower pool which is smaller than the main one up by the hotel but it was ideal for what we wanted. Was it cold yes? But being irish didn't bother us much, you get used to and once the sun is up a few hours it's fine. I would say if you are an older couple or fins steps an issue ask for a room near main complex of hotel. The breakfast was better than I expected, and plenty of choice. We ate lunch at the hotel almost every day I was impressed with the wide selection, my 2 girls loved the food. The 5e cocktail special was a bonus. We were nearby a spar shop and some other small stores and the small shop on site was handy for the basics. We were near a good selection of restaurants that are all bundled in the same area with some 'Irish bars' mainly. Our bungalow was fine and cleaners came every day. We slept well and for us it did suited us fine. You only get one swim towel for the week which was a little disappointing but maybe in time they'll change that approach. There was exit gate outside the back of the hotel complex which made it easy to get to shops and restaurants and access to the seafront if you want to go for a nice walk or sea swin. The weather was ideal 22 degrees. Lastly, few reviews about noisy planes (6-7min to airport) we never heard or noticed them. You can go plan spotting if you like, a quick 10min walk and you are at the landing/takeoff point. Pretty spectacular. Also go to the seafront for amazing view of the sunset. We will come back here for sure, it was perfect for winter sun.
