Where do you even start? This place is truly one of a kind. We read the reviews before booking half excited and half doubtful....surely Lani's can't be that good? Well, it is. First impressions, we were struck by the cleanliness and the peace. Everywhere is spotless, amplified by so much white and attention to detail from the whole team, who seem to work around the clock to ensure that the high standards are maintained. One morning I realised our hot tub had been completely cleaned before we were even awake! Early in the morning there is a team of guys doing the rounds with the day's towels, sunbed covers and sunbed pillows (for the most comfortable sunbed you have ever experienced BTW!), mopping the floor of the terraces, just making sure everything is perfect and all absolutely silently so as not to disturb the utter tranquillity of the place. After my husband's back surgery, we were looking for a week of doing nothing and, wow, this is the place to do it! You don't need to leave the hotel. We spent our days having long lazy (outstanding) breakfasts, soaking up the sun on our terrace, swimming in the pool. We particularly enjoyed the spa treatments and, of course, the magnificent restaurant. I don't want to say too much about all the little extras - and there are loads! because they were such a lovely surprise for us. However, the thing I have to mention is the service. Lani must scour the island for the best team because every single person at this hotel has the same dedication to ensuring you have the best time, however they can. On our first morning my husband was stretching on the terrace using a towel. With no fuss, a team member brought him a yoga mat, saying "you might find this more comfortable". Wow. A week later, as we were leaving and already looking at when we could return, the manager said to my husband "when you come back we'll have the yoga mat ready for you". Small details like this make you feel like a VIP visitor. Right from when we walked in and our greeting at reception, to when we left, we were made to feel welcome and like nothing was too much trouble. You can eat what you like, when you like, where you like for example. Lani's is small, with around 24 suites I think. So if you like a huge corporate type hotel, with 3 pools, 4 restaurants and hundreds of staff, this is not the place for you. At Lani's you get to know the team and they get to know you. The friendliness, service and quality of all products is absolutely up there. Thank you Jonathan, Farah, Alejandro, the restaurant team, the spa team, the pool & grounds guys, the cleaners, everybody in the team who all played their part in turning a "quick week in the sun" into a very memorable holiday.
