Aparthotel Costa Mar recensioner

Arrived as a couple for the 2nd week in September. Booked last minute so didn’t know what to expect. Had read mixed reviews, especially about the food being poor or cold - total nonsense. We were half board so got breakfast which was limited enough if you were expecting a full fry every morning but plenty of fruit, yoghurts, cereals, eggs, bread, juice, etc. The dinner never failed to impress - a couple of hot choices every night - chicken, pork chops, lamb, turkey, beef meatballs, pasta, fish and plenty of salad. Chips most might. Also soup, rolls and plenty of cakes and ice cream. Great value! The menu can be quite traditional and not very child friendly if you have a fussy eater expecting pizza and chips. The only complaint I would have is that you have to pay for bottled water with your dinner - €2 a bottle each which is not expensive but I would have thought the water would be free. All drinks go on your room bill and are payable on checkout. The pool area is lovely - very clean and no sun bed wars that we saw. The pool is split in 2 with a deep section and a shallower section. Only downside is the pool bar - very expensive at €4 for a pint of Tropical and €5 for a pint of Magners. This compares badly with most other bars. The pool snacks seemed reasonably priced. Had a one bed apartment in block A on floor 3. Had a huge balcony overlooking the road and fabulous Pocillos beach. The apartment was typical Spanish style and spotless. It was cleaned 5 days out of the 7 we were there. The staff are the real success of this hotel - from reception to the restaurant to the pool bar to the exceptional cleaning staff. Everyone was most friendly and efficient. The hotel is set out in blocks in a horseshoe shape - our block was at the front while others go around the back of the pool and reception. There are no lifts so request ground floor if needed. There is no air conditioning in some apartments but the website does say this. You can pay for it in certain apartments - we just opened the patio doors and a window in the bedroom, which had a mosquito net to keep out the bugs. (Didn’t actually see any!) The hotel is in an ideal flat location. Great walks to the left to Matagorda or to the right to the main *****. The beach opposite is pure class! There is a huge Spar next door and a very handy pharmacy. A few restaurants but nothing hectic in our view. Please remember that this is a 3 star hotel. It certainly lives up to that and more. Folk should not expect or be critical of things that you would find in a 4 or 5 star hotel that the Costa Mar doesn’t have. We have booked to return as a family next June.

The location it's great ,minutes away from beach, bus stop just across the road which take you straight to airport in about 10min for less then 2euros and to other beaches or cities around I was greeted warmly by the reception which kindly gave me the room earlier, explaining everything about the place.No city tax was asked and I was given a big apartment with sea view which had everything you need . The shop in front of the hotel its helpful selling food and drinks. Maybe the hotel needs a bit of refit otherwise I had a wonderful time there,staff its very very nice all the way !

Look, if you manage to get a cheap deal here then take it. But before you do you must realise what you’re getting. The reception and pool area is fine, the staff are great and the food is okay. My apartment was run down and I’ve included photos. But, the biggest pain in my ass was the WiFi, which in reception kept crashing and I n your apartment had a cost of €15 per week, per device. For that reason ONLY I wouldn’t stay here again

Our second visit this year, hopefully back for our 3rd visit in November this year. We think this hotel/apartments are good value for what we have paid so can’t complain really, this is a good 3 star hotel/apartments id say and pool area is great. The rooms are fairly dated and furniture has seen better days but no complaints for the price we paid. Everyone i spoke to seemed to be happy and enjoying their holiday 😃 The Spar shop is just opposite the hotel and a few restaurants very close by and more restaurants a short walk away. The staff and cleaners we spoke to all seemed nice and friendly especially David on reception. All in all we absolutely loved our holiday and will be booking this hotel every time we visit Lanzarote 😁

This is a very old and run down appartments. The room quality is very poor, there is no way this is a 3 star. Kitchen doors hanging off and light fitting hanging off, one of the rooms is so small you can't even open the wardrobe door fully. The WiFi isn't included. you have pay for vouchers at reception for each device connected The pool bar is closed at the weekend meaning I couldn't even get water or snaks for the kids, we had go to the local spar shop and bring it back to hotel I would not recommend this place to anyone. I reported the issues as soon as I arrived and they were not addressed by the time I left.

First time on the island Cheap and cheerful. A few cons but given the price we weren't to bothered. The apartment is huge. Two large bedrooms The balcony had a sea view which was nice. There isn't any air-conditioning so we left the patio doors and some windows open. Some nice.lirtle restaurants on the front. The Spar is great and very convenient. Bus to the ***** just up the road. We often used the bus to explore the island. My main negative is the pool bar closes at 4pm and isn't open Saturdays or Sundays. Overall we enjoyed.our week in the sun.

For a 3 star hotel I really wanted to give this 5 stars but there were just too many very little things that prevented it. The 'pros' are that the location is perfect, left or right you're near shops and restaurants straight away. They do have air con, but only in certain rooms, I emailed ahead and got one but it was an extra 80 euros. I need it, but as people have said the breeze is amazing. The pool is great, we were full board, breakfast was great (just not live cooking, so no omelette or pancakes). The evening meal we only did once, was standard and what you'd expect. You don't get drinks included in the meal and the pool bar is expensive in comparison to local bars. 4 euro a beer. Also a note on the male life guard who is good at keeping beds free to stop people reserving and leaving (which we loved) but goes too far and doesn't really let people move beds. Also I never saw the pool or beside the pool get cleaned once in a week, and in some parts your feet would be covered as the floor was disgusting. Overall, of all the hotels in canaries we've stayed around the price, this is the oldest, most rundown and has dirtiest areas. So we personally wouldn't return, that said, it didn't spoil our holiday as the perks of balcony sea views and location etc are amazing. Little things to improve, clean in and around the pool, include air con in the price and find more work for the life guard other than telling ppl off for moving loungers.

Excellent value for money. Huge apartments. The apartments are very basic, but clean, and brilliant for families with large indoor and outdoor spaces. The food in the restaurant was fine and the drinks were really cheap! The pool area was great, not crowded and no annoying bed reserving which was fantastic! The pool bar served burgers, pizzas, toasties etc at very reasonable prices. I can’t fault this place at all - remember you are paying for 3 stars, and this place definitely delivers at that price.

A lot more pros than cons but here’s our honest opinion… Cons: the rooms are a bit dated. Very old furniture and lighting. No AC. Have to hire fans. Pros: very clean, very attentive staff, great pools, amazing location, short walk to beach, superb for families, well priced food and drink, few shops and cafes a short walk away, main town a short taxi ride away. Would recommend to friends.

Cockroahes in room,had to move at our own expense, as no rooms available for us to switch. Could have lived with the rest of it's failures,but not the cockroahes. Rooms ,very dated and poorly maintained,balcony furniture hadn't been cleaned in months ,so didn't want to use it. No air-conditioning,had to pay to hire a fan,charged to use safe.had to pay for WiFi in room. Reception staff were lovely, pool area appeared clean,lovely sea view from our room.sych a shame we had to move, could not risk our 4 year old getting I'll from the cockroahes. Beach not safe for kids. And very windy.

Il start with the positives on arriving friendly reception staff and a beautiful view from the balcony and first impressions ok but dated but was cheap so what was expected. The cleanliness was not great the sunbeds on the balcony had not been wiped down and leafs all over. Then the first night was ok but come back to the room and was a odd smell… the next morning woke up to cockroaches so reported the staff ( later to realize the smell was the cockroach spray what was under the sink) The cleaner came up and said only one be fine then the next morning woke to more then one and droppings everywhere! All over the self catering kitchen ! Told reception they said no other rooms available send someone up to find where they were coming from but actually the done nothing just gave us more spray we blocked all sinks and holes but still woke up to more the next day. I went with my 4 year old and was not risking her getting poorly so had to book another hotel and leave this one as they did not offer a solution.

Don't let the bad reviews put you off - this hotel is great value for money. The location is outstanding, the staff are super, the rooms are huge (but a bit dated), pool is great, and the food is fine. There is no poolside or evening entertainment so we did alternate days exploring the island and lazing at pool and beach and evenings at the pubs on the *****. Location: Fantastic beach at the door and right beside a large, well stocked and cheap Spar and mainline bus stop. Buses are frequent and cheap - 2.80 euro return to the town centre and less than 10 euro return to fairly much anywhere on the island. Staff: Pleasant and helpful at all times. They deal firmly with the inevitable occasional loutish / unsafe / selfish behaviour from the usual suspects... Rooms: We had a 2 bed apartment and it was the size of a small house! Great front balcony with sea view and small rear terrace with secure railings which was great for drying clothes and towels. There is no aircon but it's unnecessary if you open the patio doors at the front and a door or window at the rear, the breeze keeps the apartment really comfortable. Décor is definitely dated but it's functional - we had an issue with the shower not working properly and their maintenance personnel had it replaced in about an hour :-). Pool: The pool is a good size, clean and comfortable. Poolside drinks are a bit on the pricy side but the snacks are are tasty - especially the pizzas. You need to be down early to get sunbeds as the usual suspects send one person down early with a bunch of towels and 'reserve' blocks of 6 to 8 until they emerge round lunchtime. The staff sometimes remove these towels, but it takes a while. Hot tip - there are always sunbeds on the roof terrace above reception - this is accessed by a small staircase to the left of the back entrance to reception. Food: Breakfast is typical Spanish hotel style with the continental style sausages and bacon, fried and scrambled eggs, toast, cheeses, cold meats and pastries. It's tasty and there is always plenty but the juice and coffee aren't great. Dinner is much more European style than British - loads of rice and pasta dishes and always chips for the kids. The veg and fish are delicious but the meat and chicken are a bit hit and miss. The desserts are really good with plenty of variety and fruit. There is always plenty of food and I would say overall about 1/3 of nights were bland, 1/3 were delicious and 1/3 somewhere in-between. Overall: A safe option for a base for a great holiday and we'd definitely have no hesitation going back if we got it at a similar price.

A group of us stayed here for 10 nights in the I block which seems to be recently refurbished. We were pleasantly surprised after reading a lot reviews stating outdated furniture & no AC. We walked in to a modern, spacious apartment with AC (rent for €15 per night). Would definitely recommend paying for AC as it was worth every penny, especially at night. We had a spacious balcony with 2 sun loungers and a clothes horse. Apartment came with kitchen, including kettle, microwave, fridge etc. There is a big Spar right in the centre of the apartment complex, open from 8am-10pm which was an absolute lifesaver! Cleaners come every day apart from Fridays and Saturdays (I think), providing fresh towels and toilet roll, all very friendly. Bar girl/lifeguard is extremely lovely and always smiling, a credit to the company. Receptionists all very kind and welcoming also. The apartments are around 30/40 minute walk from the main ***** of restaurants and bars, but taxis are always around and only €4/€5 for a 5 minute drive to the *****. Overall we had an extremely positive experience, and would recommend to groups of friends or families, can not think of one fault!!!
