This was our favorite hostel in puerto Escondido, all the staff was very accommodating and friendly. Great vibes at all times, good party scene. They take you to lots of clubs and bars. You can rent scooters, book all kinds of tours. Staff had great food recommendations, all the rooms are very clean, we stayed in a dorm for 6 nights it was great. When we first got her we only had 2 nights booked, went to another hostel and ended up coming back for the rest of our trip. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a social hostel near the beach. Great location, many places to get food, drinks, and just to shop near by. You also must go to comedor Vicky’s, a restaurant just a minute walk up the road. Great food! Big portions, great service. We went there almost everyday! Julio is the best….

This is a brilliant hostel and I had a great time there.
All the staff were super friendly and helpful. They were also very good at helping to get the party started. They organise events each evening at the hostel bar, and they also provide offers and recommendations for other places.
Bad points: The kitchen lacks A LOT of things. E.g. it didn't have bowls or anywhere near enough cutlery for the number of guests that were staying (and this was in low season).
Also, the music starts at 10am and doesn't stop till 11pm when the bar closes.
The choice of music was mostly excellent, but I heard some terrible music here too (e.g. annoying fidget house music), so that is something for them to think about.

The rooms are big and clean, the beds are soft. The kitchen is a little messy, but you can handle it. Great atmosphere and amenities. The activities it was fun. All’s depends that the mode is all around A little removed from la Punta but you can rent a motorcycle or choose to walk it's like 20 minutes. It’s a good place for to be comfy and relax

Straw hut for starters is a great hostel, staff are awesome and the dorms are comfy and tidy. For anyone thinking of volunteering, be careful, there was a misunderstanding through communication, and we were placed on a shift we mentioned we could not make. After returning to the hostel willing to volunteer our free time for 2 weeks, Edir, the manager sacked us… Edir mate, either some chip is stuck on your shoulder, or you need some shrooms mate.

Loved the playground area, big, open, clean, great to work and play! Top tier staff, customer service oriented combined with that bit of spice and playfulness you'd like to see at a hostel.
The dorms can be improved, bed situation is comfy but, can be elevated to match their competition in the area- Overall a great stay, and will definitely be back there next year ＜3

Great hostel, would recommend to all travellers, both solo and in a group. James in particular at the reception was extremely helpful! He made the guests extremely welcome and offered great advice. A great stay with brilliant facilities.
