Selvaje Lodge Iguazu

Stunning property in what feels like the middle of a jungle! Only stayed one night but the room was lovely, dinner in their restaurant was delicious and the employees we met were happy and helpful. Would have loved to have used the pool but unfortunately the weather and time factor was against us...Next time!!!!

My expectations for a peaceful retreat at Selvaje Lodge in Iguazu, Argentina, were completely shattered. The experience began with an unwelcoming reception from Ivan, who displayed outright rudeness. This initial discomfort was exacerbated by the restaurant staff who not only were excessively loud but also engaged in inappropriate swearing, justifying it as their right since they were in a "private working place." Such behavior is utterly unacceptable, especially when visiting with family. The condition of the lodge itself was dismal. The internet was non-functional at all, and the ancient TV from the '90s didn't work. Our room was a picture of neglect, reeking of mustiness, equipped with a broken, cold-only shower, contributing to an overall sense of discomfort and abandonment. The absence of a telephone in the room made reaching out for any service a significant challenge, further isolating us in what felt like a jungle encampment. My attempts to contact the reception and other services using my personal phone went unanswered for over 40 minutes, and when I sought help in person, I found the lodge eerily deserted, with the manager disinterested during our encounter. The dining experience was just as poor, featuring cold, bland processed ravioli that fell short of basic culinary standards. Additionally, ongoing renovations throughout the hotel contributed further to the chaotic and uncomfortable atmosphere. I deeply regret choosing Selvaje Lodge and strongly advise against staying here. The deceivingly enticing photos do not reflect the reality of this lodge, which ranks as one of the worst accommodations I’ve ever experienced.

The staff of the hotel are very professional and friendly...but my top review is for bartender Facundo...very professional, Friendly and knowledgeable in his specialtiesbartender..today he created a mix of whisky and other ingredients...spectacular...we called Selva amore...10+...

A beautiful resort. There only 12 rooms. 10 of them are on the main level and 2 are on the lower level. Try to get an upper level room. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are mostly quiet, except each of the nights we were there, the power went out and a large generator kicked on, which was quite noisy. Not sure if that's a normal occurrence but it did interrupt our sleep. The pool area is lovely. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant for the 2 nights we were there and it was mostly good. The caparinha ice cream was my favorite part. With only 12 rooms on site, would have liked a bit more personalized service from the hotel, as interactions with the front desk were quite impersonal, but overall we can't complain. If you use the hotel taxi, make sure that you specify that you want a private taxi, as we were unexpectedly asked to share with guests of another hotel. We stayed here during our visit to the falls and I was expecting something great given the review but sadly not the case for us. We had some room issues on arrival which were dealt with promptly however after waiting for our room for 2 hours due to arriving before 3pm check in it was disappointing. Staff were hit and miss, some really friendly others not. Dinner in the evening was good quality, however on our last day at breakfast we were some of the last as we had a late pick up and there were no tables laid up and we felt we were an inconvenience, and as none of the food was covered there were dead flies on the cheese. This place has so much potential but sadly not being utilised.

Selvaje Lodge in Iguazu is a great location near the Falls. I visited as a "soloist" with a 3 sets of couple-friends, and had an amazing time there. The pool was almost the main attraction. Anyone can see from the photos that it's very nice. The bar was exceptional, with Fecundo, the young bartender, serving up some great variations of Caipirinhas. He clearly takes great pride in his work, with each drink a true "craft." The food in the restaurant was very good, not great, but certainly worth the menu price. On our last morning, we had a very early flight, and the staff was good enough to have an urn of coffee prepared especially for us at 5:45 AM.

Easy access to get to the falls, but provides a nice "jungle" getaway for your stay. The pool is very relaxing and there is full bar service at the pool. Rooms are down a wooden path thru jungle type trees so really a nice relaxing place away from the city but an easy cab/uber ride to town (that the hotel can arrange). Full breakfast was very well done and also the restaurant at dinner has wonderful food options for a reasonable price.

We stayed in one of the room facing the Jungle and found it clean and spacious. The Staff was helpful and found us an exceptional Driver to assist with our tours. The restaurant staff was pleasant although not experienced. Both a positive and negative of the property is that it is isolated. We enjoyed our time there and would return / recommend.

The hotel is in the middle of the rainforest which made it a unique experience for my husband and I! It is about 20-30 min from the centro area and the national park so you will need a car or to take taxis most places. The walk ways and pool are beautiful. The rooms were nice but I would recommend to the hotel to upgrade their towels. Several times, we had a towel that was only single ply or had been used so many times, it was very thin. The breakfast was good and you could order eggs upon request. We had dinner at the hotel but enjoyed other options in the centro area much more. One area for improvement for the hotel would be to increase the service of the concierge or front desk. I asked the front desk to help me make a dinner reservation but they provided me the phone number only and told me to make it myself. I did not experience this anywhere else in Argentina so was a bit surprised. In summary, for the hotel level and price, this is a great option and I would recommend it. But, I think there are a few easy things that the hotel could do to improve their level of service.
