Casa Kayab

Horrible property! Read recent reviews! The road to the property is dirt and was flooded with 10-in deep puddles. Despite this the owner accused us of a no-show and refused to give our money back. You absolutely cannot make it to the property in a rental car. It's actually against your rental car rules to go down a road like us. Additionally the phone number listed with the property when you book it is disconnected. And also the address given for the property is to a five-star resort, from which you have to drive two kilometers down the dirt road.

We booked Casa Kayab on a whim, after needing to leave another hotel early. To say its off the beaten path is an understatement, but in the best way possible. You will need a car (whether your own, or a taxi). The private road is paved until the last 1-2 km, which is unpaved and bumpy. Watch the bottom of your car, luckily we had full coverage on our rental. Casa Kayab is a set of two, two-story buildings holding no more than 6 rooms in total. The rooms are extremely basic, but if you're looking for peace and quiet, you are going to find it here. There are hammocks, fire pits and friendly cats/dogs. You can't hear anything but the ocean rolling in and out. The property has a communal kitchen, a fridge/bins where you can store food, a stove, filtered water and a communal bin. We didn't look to deeply when we booked, so we had to drive back into town for dinner. But the property recycles and composts. We arrived late in the day, had to leave for dinner and had to leave early the next morning for an activity. So we didn't really get to enjoy all of the peacefulness that Casa Kayab had to offer. However, when we come back to Cancun/Puerto Morelos, we will be staying here again.

Suite a un gros orage la veille la route pour accéder à ce logement est impraticable avec des trous de 40 cm au moins . La plage est soi disant privée mais une anglaise qui était sur place depuis 4 jours nous dit que c 'est impossible de s ' y baigner à moins d 'aller 600 metres plus loin ou la plage est pleine de déchets . Nous avons du laisser la voiture un kilometre avant et faire le reste à pied . Nous avons donc du trouver un autre logement et ' heures après il nous propose de nous chercher nous n ' allions surement pas attendre 4heures par 36 degrés et sur une plage similaire a une déchetterie et bien sur " jours après de retour en France aucune nouvelle ni du propriétaire ni de booking . De plus il y avait un serpent mort sur la route et l anglaise nous a dit qu ' il y a des crocodiles la nuit donc il fallait rester deux nuits dans une location sans réelle plage pleine de rochers .
