Sonoran Spa Resort

Do you love the beach, pools, spas, sunshine, shopping, fishing charters, shrimp, eateries, jet ski rentals, swimming, sunsets, dancing, music, romantic beach cocktails with umbrellas in them, rita's and non stop fun. Then this is you "Go To" destination. No, I do not work here. Just love a really inexpensive vacation. (Airbnb) Worth the research.

Nice resort accommodations. Security staff was awful and would NEVER recommend staying there!! 4.0 Liked · The room was nice, clean, and had a great view. Pool overlooked the beach which was fantastic! Location of resort was close to downtown for shopping and restaurants. Great restaurant on site with good food and service. Disliked · The security staff was rude and disrepectful. They patrolled the pool like a prison yard! Made relaxing at the pool extremely uncomfortable and unpleasant. Kids were not allowed to throw a football in the pool or play on the grass of the resort. Playing with a ball or staying off grass were listed nowhere in the list of rules. They were not bothering other guests or being loud. Just kids playing in the pool trying to have fun. Had to speak to the front desk staff several times about arbitrary rules. The first time they agreed that playing ball in the pool was not listed in the rules and the kids continued to play. The next day they were threatened with a call to the police if they didn't stop. We were treated like common criminals rather than guests paying thousands of dollars to enjoy the pool and beach. It was absolutely mindblowing the way we were treated.

We stayed here for the 4th July holiday condo was amazing, host, Mr. Talburt very professional and considerate. The condominium was spotless and nicely equipped. We will be back soon. The condo has impressive views, and the Staff is kind, polite, and professional

Cons first: the room was seriously in need of repairs to the flooring here and there, balcony furniture rusty as hell, interior needs repaint, toilet (barely flushes), open pot light above shower (serious shock hazard), kinda hard mattress. Pros: beautiful view from the room (N804), large balcony with plenty of room for table, beautifully maintained pool and grounds, good level of security around the site, secured parking, friendly staff, absolutely fantastic wide sand beach and incredibly warm and clear water. Not crowded or rowdy. Loved the location. Probably the best beach I've seen except for Veradero Beach in Cuba. We've been to beaches all over Hawaii, Mexico, California, Portugal, Spain, Italy and Malta in recent years. This one is pretty incredible. The only downside to this trip was getting pulled over five minutes after the border crossing on a bogus "speeding" infraction. Cop showed me his radar gun that said 68kmh. My cruise control was set at 40kmh. The cop took all my money and left ($100). I wanted to go into town to the police station. He said we could "settle it right here". Ridiculous. But whatever, I guess corruption in Mexico among the cops is still widespread. This is the only thing that would make me pause about returning to Puerto Penasco.

They didn't have the room ready at check in time, we were told the plumber was fixing some stuff. ( but he did not ) right after finally checking in the plumber come by and ask if we took a shower because the people downstairs are having a leak . in total they came 3 or 4 times and wasted so much time from our vacation, we could not leave to go have dinner the 1st evening .. The room did not have sheets for all the pillows or the beds ,no facial tissue in the bathroom, no paper towels in the kitchen or kitchen towels but they had about 10 pot holders; cleaning of room was decent that is because we gave them a nice tip while they were cleaning hoping we'd be able to check in .. LR TV worked did not work we had to call them to come fix it then we had 3 or 4 channels at most. The dryer was a real headache to turn on... this company charges a lot for cleaning and resort fees , they need to do a better job at maintaining the condos and also be aware that if you have to enter someone's room 3 times to fix stuff you should offer some compensation or a drink / meal etc for their time and inconvenience.

I don’t have enough characters available to tell you how bad unit W102 is at Sonoran Sun. Do not stay here. Let me tell you why. Bad internet, broken chunks of tile in the shower in the master bath not to mention missing drawer knobs on the old, peeling cabinets. One roll of toilet paper. One roll of paper towels. No hand towels in the kitchen, 4 forks available, 1 trash bag, broken tongs, no Tupperware, you did get a coffee pot and filters, but no coffee pot. You could hear the people in the unit above you vividly walking. I have stayed at Sonoran Sun before and will stay there again, but not at W102 The staff at Sonoran Sun are wonderful. Pay a little more and stay in a different unit.
