We stayed at the altamar hotel for 2 weeks, it is a amazing hotel very clean and staff was very friendly the hotel entertainment at night was very good, the cleaners are very good and very pleasant very helpful reception staff the only thing I could fault was the entertainment staff could of done a lot more. The pools and the loungers were kept very clean I would highly recommend this hotel and will be going back

Amazing hotel, food is absolutely amazing too, good selection! Very clean and friendly, the only reason to lose a star is because after a few days of flat drinks and talking to numerous staff about the issue, nothing changed, flat Pepsi etc. The hotel is amazing but let down by flat soft drinks even after talking to staff about the issue, they don't seem bothered

Just returned from a weeks holiday at this hotel, all inclusive. View from our room was great, good sized bathroom, the bed was not a double it was two singles pushed together, sofa bed was not very comfortable. Being all inclusive drinks are limited to soft drinks & local spirits, food was very repetitive, for breakfast you had a selection of items of an English breakfast, toasty machine & toaster. For lunch and dinner it was the same of pizza, pasta, chips, fish, meat and cheese selection, hot dogs and pizza, one night there was a ‘Sunday dinner’ but the yorkshires were still frozen which put us off! Also heard another booking complain about this yesterday and they were advised they have quality checks done on the food before this is put out, guess they must have forgot to turn on the oven. Lift is questionable, thankfully didn’t break down on us fully but the motor did stop and had to kick back in to get us to the floor we needed to go to. SUNBEDS - the hotel has signs that say you are not to reserve sunbeds before 10am due to having to clean the area and any towels left unused for over an hour will be removed by the lifeguard. Most mornings I woke up and by 7:30 at least half of the sunbeds had been claimed with towels, witnessed no removal of towels by the life guard & the beds not being used until mid afternoon, on our first day we couldn’t get a sun-bed until after 3pm when half the beds had been empty for some time but still had towels there, very dissatisfied with this as the hotel did not seem to care about the reservation of sun beds which goes against the signs they have up about this. Given we arrived during the school summer holidays but would hope there would be some monitoring of this or at least enough sun beds to accommodate all guests in the hotel Somewhat disappointed with our stay, however made the most of what we had and enjoyed our family time.

Just arrived back from our 9 night stay with my husband and 2 children aged 11 and 16. Overall we really enjoyed our time at The Altamar. The grounds and pool area are very clean and tidy. Always staff around tidying. The rooms when we first arrived I felt weren't cleaned to the standard you would expect for a change over, previous guests hair in bathroom, shower screen and mirror not very clean looking. I actually thought they forgot to clean before we arrived as the maid seemed surprised we were already in there. Every other day they come in to clean, not every day like previous reviews stated so sometimes I felt the towel turnover wasn’t great. “The sofa bed” it is not. It’s more a sofa with the cushions taken of and made in to 2 small single bed. And this is in living space so we really felt on top of each other but lucky for us we are not really family who spends a lot time in our room. We leave at 8am return 6.30pm go out 7.30pm and back midnight.so wasn’t a major issue but could imagine for some would be difficult. Entertainment was okay.as we have older children the kids disco which was pretty much non existent again didn’t effect us. The only thing we enjoyed really was bingo night, Whitney Houston tribute and diva show the other nights felt flat. There is a guy called Gez. He wasn’t there for first few days we arrived but when he was there he made a big difference to the entertainment you could tell he has a passion for it but the other entertainment girls looked board at times and like they didn’t want be there.when you are used to going away and seeing the staff engaging with kids and making them feel special it was weird to see there was no engagement from them with the younger kids. If I had kids age between 2-10 I would say this hotel not aimed for them. If you sit by pool B which was best for us as this is where kids can play with inflatables and ball games in pool you can’t hear any music so we just had our headphones in played our own playlist. Love the fact there is no sunbed wars and can get sun beds any time of day, it was great hotel in the aspect of there was no rush to get up for sundbeds, no rush to dinner for tables. Food was good and plenty options but like all inclusive hotels was repetitive. My major gripe which really bugged me was the drink situation. All inclusive drinks ends at 11pm but by 10.30pm the staff pretty much turn every thing off and let the alcohol run out and just ignore you if you try to ask for something. you can tell they just want you out so they can set up for next day which is fair enough but at same time we have payed for a service that was not fully provided.some bar staff were rude I seen one man shouting at lady for the way she poured the beer, and he was a manager, there was another one who was very rude to me and my husband when we took our full 7up and vodka up to the bar to tell him the syrup had ran out of the 7up and was off (we could of just left these at table if wanted to and helpe

Excellent hotel and perfect for the family. Superb views of the Atlantic. Room we had was very nice and my daughter loved the place. We loved travelling the island but it was such a nice base to start from. The breakfast was lovely everyday and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Fantastic hotel for the family. Stayed here for two weeks with breakfast included as we are not all inclusive types and love travelling while on holiday but the place was fantastic, no complaints. Had great views of the med, the room was outstanding and our daughters loved it and desperate to go back.
