Servatur Altamar

This hotel is overall a lovely hotel, huge balconies with sun all day, quite spacious rooms, the only downside I experienced was the lift, we were situated on B block room 131, we requested a room close to the lift due to 2 of the party having health conditions, we were positioned next to the lift, however on arrival we were told that lift was down and would be repaired the following morning, although they did try to fix the lift, it wasn’t working the whole 11 nights we were there. This put a huge strain on us, having to carry 4 large cases and 4 small cases up 3 flights of stairs. I’m told the lifts break down regularly but are fixed pretty quickly. This hotel has beautiful views, the food is good, however most days we only ate breakfast as we did venture out every day. But overall apart from the lift not working it didn’t ruin our holiday.

If you go with the knowledge that this is a 3 star hotel you will not be disappointed. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful. We were AI, plenty of food options and never struggled to find something to eat. We had one vegetarian and one child with ASD and sensory issues. Restaurant is spacious and staff friendly. The room was lovely. Big spacious balcony. We had a superior high view room. The room has some welcome gifts on arrival. Nice touch. Our room was always clean and the maid was lovely. There is not a busy entertainment plan so if you are looking for a laid back quieter hotel this is the place. Arra from the entertainment team was amazing with the kids. Pools were good. Managed to get a sunbed at around 9am each day. Usual sunbed reserves but hotel is trying to stop. The hotel is a bit out if the way and walking to Amadores or Puerto Rico was too much for our family but the taxi service was great! Lovely holiday!

In general I had a lovely stay. The room had a great view, and I loved that you have your own balcony. They all faced the sea and they had the sun all day. It was a nice option to have. Staff were helpful and friendly. There were a few members who worked on the bar and restaurant who were not as welcoming. I asked for a cocktail from the all inclusive option. She looked at me as if to repeat what I said, and when I repeated it she walked away and made my drink. It did make me feel uncomfortable to go back again. Hospitality is welcoming, and it doesn't cost anything to smile. The cocktails were clearly ready made and far too sweet. Not strong at all. This was disappointing as I had paid for the all inclusive option. I was happy with the food selection. Yes it can be repetitive, but it was cooked to a good standard. Live cooking meaning it was super fresh. The timings of all meals and snacks meant that it was practically opened all day. Going back to my room. It was not to the best cleanliness standard. The balcony clearly hadn't been touched. The table was filthy, and the floor had a lot of hair on it. In my room it also had the odd few hairs around. Not a nice way to enter your room on holiday and it hasn't been given a good clean. This applies to the pool too. There was hair and dirt everywhere. It certainly wasn't cleaned everyday, nor at all when I was there for a week which surely doesn't pass any hygiene standards. This put me off a little using the pool areas. All in all, you get what you get for your money. Considering the money that was spent on this trip, the cleanliness and hygiene needs a big improvement! Being on my own I did feel safe, and the area had loads to do with places to walk to like the Europa Centre. I wish I had been there more often for food and drinks as it was a great prices, service, and the food looked good too. A good holiday, but needs a clean up!

Paid for a superior room and we we arrived was told all rooms are the same since they have been decorated. So not sure what we paid extra for? The staff were very dismissive. We had previously been to the hotel and had great memories. This time there was a lack of atmosphere and pretty much non exsistant entertainment or budget entertainment we a speaker the staff had to carry about. Although saying this the entertainment staff themselves were lovely and worked hard with in there own words out of date equipment. The sun bed wars were a nightmare! If you was at the bed before 7 you wouldn't get one. The life guard was a lovely man who brought a happy atmosphere around the pool! Someone complained about him being to friendly and unprofessional which is really unfair and then he had to leave. The food was ok with a large variety but as expected became a like repetitive after the 2 weeks. Although there was pigeons walking around the restaurant. The room it self was cleaned frequently and our towels were replace often. The cleaning lady was very friendly and happy and worked very hard! We had a lovely holiday Although alittle disappointed with the lack of entertainment and atmosphere.

Having visited this hotel many times this will probably be the last time. Standards have fallen through the floor. Hotel rules may as well not be there. A man walked into the evening buffet more than once with his shirt wide open exposing an awful hairy body, probably dripping sweat, UNCHALLENGED. Not acceptable in any hotel. People constantly came from the pool to the bar area dripping wet, causing a constant wet floor. People sit in the restaurant in bikinis no cover up. Smoking and vaping is not policed. Why have signs saying no smoking on the front terrace and not stop people vaping!!! Ignorant people who had a much bigger area to sit and vape until their hearts are content but they want the non smoking area. If staff see one on the table or in their hand you can guarantee they are using them. If you're not going to police it then remove the flipping signs. The entertainment has gone rapidly downhill. There's no atmosphere now. Mario may be stretched but he doesn't even say hello. We were in a lift with him, he never spoke to us, just used his phone. The staff aren't over friendly either. The maids are much more friendly. The all inclusive drinks well we used to have proper glasses now stupid tiny ones. We drink the same amount but now much more washing up with constant use of glasses. The Irish cream is rubbish now. Apart from the views our happy place wasn't happy this time at all. Such a shame we fell in love with the place in 2013 and then looks like we separated or divorced in 2025.

Just returned home after a weeks stay AI here, our first time to this hotel and Puerto Rico. We stayed in 11b floor 0 which is the room with shared pool access. The room was great with all the things needed fridge freezer, hob, microwave etc and the pool and balcony was spot on for us. The hotel was also lovely, clean with fantastic views, AI food was ok preferred breakfast and lunch as thought evening meals were very mis matched and random, but it was still ok. We ate out a few nights at Europe centre and down mogan mall and commercial centre. Both great lots of restaurants and bars with entertainment. Beaches both also good. Hotel was great for 3 star however a few things let this hotel down For such a busy hotel with couples, children and teens and families the entertainment isn’t great I know it’s been taken over and lots of changes in staff and the staff there are trying but 2 staff members trying to organise a variety of daily activities for all those guests isn’t great. There needs to be so much more going on, and conststancy, especially of an evening there are shows and kareoke but they don’t last long and some not great, if I had younger kids I’d be very disappointed as there’s definitely not enough for them here ( this is just my opinion and no disrespect to Mario and Aria they are doing what they can) it needs an energetic team to give this hotel a boost! I had a 16 year old and she made friends but there wasn’t a lot for them to do. This hotel has so much potential it’s a shame as it’s a beautiful hotel with great rooms and staff. Ideally there needs to be a bar near pool A the salon would be an ideal spot for a little bar it would make so much more sense. Also of an evening the staff tend to remove the glasses for AI at 10.30 and start to tidy away, AI is ment to be till 11 yet the glasses are covered so drinks can’t be accessed. We did have a great time here and made friends and met lovely people we would return but in the hope that that Servatur spend some well needed money and inject some life back into the entertainment at this hotel.
