Secrets Tides Punta Cana - Adults Only

We had a great time at Secrets Tides Punta Cana. The weather and beach conditions were perfect, and the food was good at the restaurants and buffet. We stayed in a swim-up suite, which was nice, but we now know we prefer an ocean view. The rooms have a nice layout and are large enough. We had to ask our concierge to request our fridge be replenished several times because it wasn't done. Those 4 mini beers don't last for days! The pools are nice, but could use more umbrellas. The preferred beach has more chairs and palapas, which is unfortunate because there are more regular resort suites than there are preferred suites. The lobby is very nice, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Secrets Tides!

This trip was planned by the company my husband works for. They earned this trip by exceeding their numbers. We were thrilled to go to Secrets as it's an all adult resort. The rooms were spacious and the duel head rain shower was amazing. The only thing that was "odd" to us is our bathtub was on the balcony. Our butler, Javier was exceptional. He assisted us and answered every question we had. We had an issue with a light switch that was inoperable and he made sure it was repaired. The food at the resort was wonderful! The market cafe had everything you could imagine to eat - what a variety and delicious! As with most all inclusive resorts, we believe the alcohol is either watered down or has very small percentage in it. Which is ok actually so you don't have a ton of drunk guests. We didn't do any excursions but some of the co-workers did and enjoyed them.

Overall, the experience was subpar. The rooms were very clean and we loved the proximity of the rooms to entertainment/dining. The food was just alright and I will say, I received food poisoning from dining here. The pools were very nice and the drinks were flowing, but remember to bring long pants for men because the dress codes are very strict.

Going as a solo traveller I was apprehensive at first but it was a 10/10 experience. From checking in, everything was smooth, to going through the room and all of the tech included. The rooms get cleaned so much which keeps to the 5* standard and it's a place that doesn't force you to do anything you don't want to do. Staff are cool and noticed I was a solo traveller and looked out for me to make me feel welcome, but also allowed me relax when it was time to chill.

Secrets is now treating guests like they are at a timeshare. Trying to trick guests into attending promotional meetings by offering resort credit. My wife read the contract before signing and noticed the 90 minute promotional meeting that was required. Then there was a push to get guests to upgrade to the “preferred” upgrade. Just not like it was before Hyatt took over.

A very comfortable and beautiful room, wonderful beach and grounds, and amazing buffet restaurant are some of many highlights. The staff are very friendly and caring. There was just enough entertainment and dancing to fill our evenings. The specialty restaurants were not as impressive as the Buffet Restaurant. Overall, a really relaxing and calming experience.
