I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with my recent stay at your resort from September 3rd to 10th, 2024.My vacation was ruined by an unfortunate incident: my credit card was stolen from my hotel room. While I understand that the card was not stored in the safe, I want to emphasize that it was in my wallet, which was inside a purse along with other important documents. This incident highlights a significant security concern, as it clearly demonstrates that personal belongings are not safe, even when left in the room. On September 5th, I discovered that my credit card had been stolen and used to make an unauthorized transaction of 850 Canadian dollars within the Punta Cana area. I immediately reported the theft to the hotel’s security department. Despite filing a report and allowing them to inspect my room, the perpetrators have not been found after 72 hours. Between September 7th and 9th, I had several meetings with the Guest Services Director to discuss this matter further. To my dismay, throughout my entire stay, I was not offered any compensation for the time and stress I experienced. I lost approximately 7 hours due to filing reports, speaking with staff, and having my room inspected. This ordeal negatively impacted not only me but also my husband, mother, and grandmother, who were all involved in dealing with the hotel administration. The Guest Services Director promised to submit a claim to the insurance company, but I am uncertain if this will fully resolve the issue. I expect the hotel to take responsibility for what happened on its premises. I am extremely disappointed with the hotel’s response to this situation. I anticipated more care and support from the staff. I would also like to highlight that the feeling of insecurity was exacerbated by the situation on the beach. The beach area was often frequented by individuals who were not hotel guests, as all beaches in the Dominican Republic are public.Although security was unable to remove these people, their presence made us feel uncomfortable. We frequently encountered non-guests consuming alcohol near our lounge chairs and behaving inappropriately. Addressing these issues with security did not always lead to an effective resolution. I expected to feel safe and secure during my stay at such a prestigious resort. Unfortunately, this incident ruined my entire vacation and left me with a very negative impression. I request that you investigate my complaint and take appropriate action.

Came here for 14 nights in a privilege room. Room was nice but bed was hard and pillows as flat as a pancake. Was meant to have pool towels in our room on arrival but wasn’t there, mini fridge was only filled on random days and no water for 3 days we had to keep asking for it.. Grounds were beautiful and well kept, the beach was nice but sea wasn’t what you could swim in with sea grass on the bottom but it was nice to see hardly any sargasso as we’ve seen before a few years ago in a different hotel. The main buffet restaurant was ridiculously hot, only a few ceiling fans which was impossible to get to sit under. It made sitting in there really uncomfortable as you were sweating, most of the staff were rude, didn’t offer you water with your meals on many occasions and trying to get tea in the morning was near on impossible. Most of the staff had miserable faces as if they had something better to do than serve drinks etc. there are birds in there that walk along the tables and chairs pooing on them, on one occasion we got our table then went to get some dinner only to come back to bird poo running down my chair, the waitress just moved the dirty chair to the table next to us as take a clean chair and walk off…birds would fly to your table and try and take food…disgusting..the food in the main buffet wasn’t that good. Lots of choice but just not that good. We ate a lot of salads… The buffet by the pool wasn’t much better but the birds would walk over the buffet food and take bits and fly off. Even saw one bird poo on the fruits. The specialty restaurants were a steak house which staff were nice but average food, Italian was again average, the tapas place in my opinion was not nice but the Asian was really good food we went back again. Was the best meals we ate whilst there. The swimming pool was nice but swim up bar was always busy with rude staff, hardly ever smiled or even spoke when we asked for a drink. The bar near the lobby was the best, staff very friendly and made delicious drinks. Juice bar was again nice only used a few times, coffee shop did nice coffee but again staff looked miserable Bars on the beach were ok staff average. It’s my 4th time in DR and was left disappointed by the lack of friendliness from the staff and the food was a let down. Would I return…no or wouldn’t recommend it either. Shame as it’s a lovely big place with beautiful grounds but the staff need a shake up as does the food… Spend your money on a different hotel as there’s plenty better than this one

It took over 2 hours to check in, the staff is either not present or not helpful, I had to ask for towels every day of my 7 day stay because housekeeping would take the old ones and never leave me clean towels, my room was dirty the first day when I arrived and the floors were dirty the third day and I had to ask for cleaning, the property and my room smelled of urine probably from the dozens of stray cats, the bed was extremely hard and the pillows are only 1 inch thick and smell not fresh, none of the furniture is cleaned throughout the entire resort (chairs and couches were stained and soiled), the restaurants didn't clean well (especially the buffet area where tables, chairs, floors, and place mats were dirty). I would not recommend that anyone come to this resort until these issues are fixed.

A fantastic 2 week family holiday! We'd read the reviews, often not the best, however although the hotel isn't perfect, the staff are all really friendly and helpful. The secret is treat people how you wish to be treated, follow this rule and you won’t go wrong, everyone was lovely. We witnessed other nationalities having arguments with staff, shoving phone cameras in their faces, filming whilst arguing. This really isn’t necessary and would rub anyone up the wrong way, no doubt it’s people like this who are leaving the negative reviews. We had a standard Junior suit the first week, it was a little tired, but adequate and clean. At the end of the first week our aircon leaked, I phoned reception to report it, within 10 minutes an engineer was at the room, and it was fixed. Unfortunately, the following day my wife noticed water coming through the ceiling of our shower, we were on our way to reception anyway, I spoke to Crystal on guest services, she was absolutely fantastic. She said this is the second issue you’ve had, perhaps we can change your room for you, I explained it wasn’t really a problem, she said no, but have a look at the new room tomorrow and you can decide if you’d like to move. I called her the next day, she explained the hotel was going to give us a complimentary room upgrade, someone would take us there to show us. Well, the new room was more recently decorated, the bedding all looked new as did the bathroom, it was a no brainer, we packed up and moved much to the delight of my wife and son. We ate at all the restaurants, can’t fault any of them, the food was always good, and there is a wide variety to suit everyone. What isn’t necessarily explained to you is how the à la carte restaurants work, not all have menu’s which can be confusing at the beginning, however there are QR codes on the tables, these lead you to the menu, so remember to take your phone with you. WiFi is great throughout the whole resort, the rooms have fibre to them, so there is no connectivity issues. The grounds are by far the best feature of the hotel they are maintained everyday by a fantastic hard-working team. One tip we were given (and I wish I’d known before going), everyday the rooms fridge is refilled with drinks, any not used take and give to the staff, whether that’s the grounds staff or the morning seaweed clearers on the beach, they will be very grateful as they are not provided such things. The average wage in the Dominican Republic is $250-$350 per month, so they also rely on customer tips which the hotel distributes to all staff (you’ll know when it’s pay day, there is an extra bounce in their step, especially the lovely room cleaners). There is quite a mixture of nationalities visiting the hotel, the first week we were there had a lot of Americans, then there was an influx of English, followed by an invasion of French. Jordanis is the best bartender. He is so very attentive and quick!! We stayed for 6 days and had him for 5 out of the 6 days and I couldn't have asked for better service! He was absolutely amazing. Whether he was at the main bar or our Exclusive Pure Chill Out Bar (which he was there each day after 6pm!) he made sure we were taken care of and remembered our drinks each night! He deserves kudos for above and beyond with his customer service & great charisma! We will definitely be back that's for sure!!
