Hotel Xaloc Playa

This was our 7th stay at the Xaloc and we are NEVER disappointed. A lovely welcome from Pau and Ferran. We had booked to go to Tenerife in July but, due to terrible customer service from the Atlantic Mirage in Puerto de la Cruz we have transferred back to the Xaloc. Thanks to Marian and Jet2 for sorting that for us! All the staff go above and beyond for their guests at the Xaloc and we are so grateful we found this gem of a hotel. Can't wait 33 days to return!

The staff make this hotel, they are so friendly, helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. The room was comfortable, especially after Marion on reception managed to get us a topper for the bed, however we hate Spanish pillows, long and thin. Food was good, well cooked, especially breakfast, shame there was only a choice of four main courses but the soups were great. The hotel could do with purchasing more umbrellas as there were only twelve for all the guests. The bar area was great with very reasonable prices and great lunches. Charlie and his companions ( Rosanna) were very friendly at all times. Reception, managed by Marion and Natalie were exceptionally helpful and went the extra mile to solve any problems. All in all, we had a very restful 10 days and would return again without hesitation. Well done all the staff, you make this hotel welcoming and a joy to visit.

The hotel is located directly across the road from the beach and a 2 minute walk to the local restaurants. Punta Prima is extremely quiet, mainly seafood restaurants, 4 supermarkets and a pharmacy. The bar that leads on to the beach is really the only one where you can just sit and have a drink without food. There are a couple of outdoor market stalls that set up late afternoon into the evening. Be prepared for the mosquitos at night! The hotel is 3 star but the staff and service is 4 star. The staff at the bar, the dining room, Reception, housekeeping and maintenance are all equally helpful and friendly, nothing is ever too much trouble. I would say the staff are the key part of this hotel. The hotel is well cleaned throughout, from the rooms to the pool and grounds and communal areas. We had a lovely clean but basic room facing the sea with a balcony. There was a shower over the bath that was powerful enough. The room was cleaned everyday and fresh towels were given, although the bath towels were more the size of hand towels! The beds were comfortable with extra pillows and blankets if required. The air con was more than adequate and free. You had to pay for your safe with a 10 euro deposit. There was a hairdryer in the bathroom. The restaurant was simple, bearing in mind it is only a 3 star hotel there wasn't an abundance of choice it was simple but it was enough, hot and plentiful. Breakfast was excellent, with hot buffet, self service tea and coffee, juices, pastries, yoghurts and fruit. I have a severe mushroom allergy so had to ask a couple of times to check food didn't contain mushrooms, the chef was always on hand to ask and confirm. Drink orders were taken at your table as soon as you sat down for your evening meal, you paid for these when you left the dining room. There were snacks at the outside pool bar during the day and although we didn't have any they looked delicious and were large portions. The drinks at the bar including hot drinks were cheaper than outside the hotel. If you fancied snacks outside of the hotel I can recommend the snack bistro on the corner, Royal Cafe Bistro, but it's only open from 8am - 3pm. They serve the best milkshakes and coffee. The pool was lovely, plenty of umbrellas and sunbeds, although they were very old and a few need replacing. There is plenty of shade on one side that doesn't really get the sun. There is a small mini golf area. This hotel is very peaceful and perfect for couples who want a relaxing time. There is entertainment 3 times a week but we didn't bother. The bus service to Mahon is hourly from the side of the hotel and the ting ting train goes directly to Binebeca. We got a taxi to Mahon for 14 euros from the taxi rank just down the road. The beach itself wasn't that nice, there was a lot of seaweed and it was just rotting away on the sand. We are beach people but ended up staying around the pool due to the amount of seaweed on the beach and in the sea. We wouldn't visit again due to t

Absolutely spotless ! Great bar in the hotel, staff are brilliant and the location is second to none. Going back soon. The night life is really good too .. the bar in the hotel is reasonably priced. Rooms excellent and the shower was really powerful .. loved it

What a lovely hotel this is and so peaceful with trees surrounding the pool. Our second visit and just as enjoyable for a short break. Punta Prima is a small resort so ideal for a quiet relaxing long weekend or even a longer holiday if you want a peaceful location. The restaurant is a little more like a cafeteria and can get very noisy but pleasant and there is a smaller quieter area if you can get a table there that overlooks the garden area at the front. Thank you to all the staff and specially the cleaning staff who were exceptional. I particularly like the fact that the beach is very near to the hotel and there is a bus stop nearby to get into Mahon.

Well what can I say about this lovely hotel. First of all the staff here are lovely and friendly nothing is too much trouble for them and they always go out of their way to help you . I stayed in a lovely room overlooking the sea. The grounds are well taken care of and there is a large swimming pool with children’s section, ideal for paddling . There are lots of sunbeds and umbrellas around the pool area there is also a shaded area around the pool to sit and chill out. The restaurant is very well managed with lots of lovely staff on hand to help. The board basis is half board so have to pay for drinks. The waitress/waiter takes your order for drinks from the table then you pay as you leave the restaurant. The buffet breakfast is plentiful with hot and cold selections, pastries and cereals too. A choice of hot drinks and juices. Evening meal is buffet style to and there was always a good selection to choice from , salads hot meals , desserts. Overall this is a great hotel
