The overall experience at the establishment was positive, highlighted by friendly staff and delicious food options. From the moment we entered, the staff’s welcoming attitude and attentiveness made us feel valued. The restaurant had a set menu. However, there were a few drawbacks that impacted our visit. One of the primary disappointments was that the kids’ area was unexpectedly closed. This was a significant letdown, especially since we were not informed about it beforehand. Having young children with us, we specifically chose this place for its advertised family-friendly amenities. While the management did acknowledge this oversight by offering a 5% discount, it would have been preferable to be informed about such changes in advance. Additionally, the swimming pool, which was another anticipated attraction, did not meet the expected standards of cleanliness. It appeared to have been neglected, which made us hesitant to use it. Despite these issues, the rest of the experience was satisfactory, and the management’s efforts to compensate for the inconvenience were appreciated. With improved maintenance and better communication, this place has the potential to provide a truly enjoyable experience.

Our stay at Wattura Resort & Spa was truly an experience to remember! My friends and I booked two luxurious suites with breathtaking views of the serene Gin Oya River. The rooms were beautifully designed, offering all the comfort and elegance you could ask for. The food was absolutely delicious, blending local and international flavors perfectly. We enjoyed a delightful beach dinner accompanied by a warm bonfire, creating a perfect atmosphere. We also loved kayaking along the peaceful river—an adventure we’ll never forget. We’ll definitely be back soon! Highly recommend for a luxurious getaway!

Friendly Staff, excellent food, amazing architecture ,theme and art .love that. Friendly support given by Praveen as our personal Butler for our Villa. Very Large Bed room, comfortable and clean Beds, Amazing wash room and private pool . Thank you Wattura Resort hoping to visit again .

One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in and had the most fun. The person who was showing us the things was Tharaka. He has one of the best personalities the food was also very delicious and had one of the best taste I’ve ever tasted. The hotel room was very nice too

Lovely and peaceful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The suites are large and comfortable. The hotel is right on the beach and has a beautiful restaurant overlooking the pool and waterfall. The food is good but a bit hit and miss. Great wine list including some classic french wines. There is a water park and kids club to keep the kids busy.

Our regret is staying only one night! We were treated like family with a warm welcome from the absolutely amazing staff to settling into a spacious beautiful room overlooking the river. The bed is very very comfortable. The bathroom is just massive with a rain shower and the view off the river. The dinner was delicious and breakfast was perfect with fresh fruits, pancakes for kids and a choice between the Sri Lankan or English Breakfast. Fernando, Yasas, Lehan were amazing with the kids and played cricket with my son! In our short stay we saw a magical sunset, experienced the quick change in weather from rain to beautiful skies, rainbow in the evening and morning, sailing boats, staff cleaning the beach … the Spa is definitely recommended. We will be back for sure and it will be for a longer stay!!!

Excellent property for any type of traveller with a wide range of rooms, villas etc service the top notch by all staff from management to pool boy. Special note to our VIP Butler Praveen (Mr Multitasker) through the stay and House Keeping Champion Sriyantha, both worthy employee’s of the year award! Food is excellent, thank you to head chef for specially made baby food. KIDS zone is awesome along with pool and beach. CLEAN and Safe A+++ Will come back again annually!

A resort you must come!! V truely enjoyed our stay,rooms are bigger n beautiful.food was delicious, Fantastic service by the staff,specially by Tharaka. This place will be one of our favourite hotels to revisit.we highly recommend wattura resorts and spa.

From receiving to check out the services were extremely good and friendly. Rooms were large with very large bed, A:C, fan open patio overlooking the river. Fully equipped. Most furniture were made with locally resourced timber. Restaurant was adequate but service was a bit slow. SriLankan and European food were extremely good
